Sure, sure, we’re all excited about Dark Side of the Moon, which will finally be unleashed in a few days time. While it’s unfortunate that Megan Fox is no longer part of the cast (and Bumblebee is?), the movie itself seems to promise (emphasis on seems) a huge fireworks display. By fireworks is meant Michael Bay’s characteristic explosions, etc. etc. Moving on, seen below is the above-mentioned Bumblebee, wh has been rendered unto cake and displayed at a New York City event.

Concerning the title of this post, it’s not as if we’re advocating assassination or insurgency, just that what else would rifle umbrellas be used for? Oh right, keeping you from getting soaked. Okay, so cro-magnons probably hurled rocks as missiles, but for CQB goodness, succeeding species resorted to branches. Mindful of this long running tradition, designer Naama Agassi designed a handguard/branch holder. As pictured above, it turns a certain length of branch into a saber in no time.

HTC ChaCha Review

There is no way that you can look at the ChaCha's design and remain completely indifferent. There's just a scrappiness and audaciousness about it, not to mention all the design throwbacks to a simpler time when phones were still smart, but not, as today, ridiculously so. Plus, it's got a chin that's half the size of the device itself. If that doesn’t at least get the attention of the G1 nostalgia hounds, it's hard to guess what will.

Despite the eccentric design touches, however, the main focus on this device is a tiny button you could almost mistake for an errant logo. At first glance it seems placed utterly without rhyme or reason, just smack under the keyboard on the right hand side. Prolonged exposure will, however, teach the fresh-faced HTC ChaCha owner the advantages of its placement.

We had heard that the HTC Desire might be shedding some apps in order to make the transition to Google’s most deliciousest pastry yet, but apparently it’s going the whole hog. After memory issues threatened to completely sabotage the Desire’s chances of graduating to Gingerbread HTC announced they’d be nixing it altogether only to promptly change their mind and announce it will be coming after all.

Japanese PSN Still Down

The Japanese government is still giving Sony a hard time over the PSN outage, two months after the fact. Sony still hasn’t been allowed to bring PSN back online until some assurances are made. Unfortunately, these are the same assurances the Japanese government has been requesting since May and Sony isn’t even providing a time frame for their implementation.
