| Jedi Knights Suspended For Cafeteria Lightsaber Duel Posted: 31 May 2011 11:55 AM PDT So a couple of teenage Jedi Knights were reportedly suspended for two days and further sanctioned after a duel in a cafeteria. The Jedi, mere high schoolers, were honing their chops with lightsabers during lunch hour and proceeded to exchange blows for a solid 30 minutes. While there were no injuries, the pair were later brought to the principal’s office for a serious reprimand. And suspension.

| Toshiba’s WT310/C Oak Trail Windows 7 Tablet Announced Posted: 31 May 2011 07:10 AM PDT Toshiba has launched a new tablet in Japan, which is designed for the enterprise market, the Toshiba WT310/C which comes with Windows 7 professional and it features an Intel Atom Z670 1.5GHz Oak Trail processor. The Toshiba WT310/C has an 11.6 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, there is also 2GB of RAM and a 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD), plus two cameras.

| Apple To Unveil iCloud, Mac OS X Lion And iOS 5 Next Week Posted: 31 May 2011 06:04 AM PDT Apple has just announced that they will be unveiling their new iCloud service at next weeks World Wide Developer Conference, on Monday the 6th of June 2011, and they will also be showing off the latest version of OS X , Mac OS X Lion plus the latest version of their mobile OS, iOS 5. Apple describes their new iCloud service as ‘Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering’, which doesn’t really give us any details of what the service will offer, although we are expecting Apple to announce their new cloud based music streaming service.

The proof-of-concept Intel Keeley Lake convertible device is remarkably thin and incorporates a 12.1 inch screen together with a Cedar Trail processors. The team over at Engadget have provided a quick video which shows how the screen can be swivelled 180 degrees allowing it to then be laid flat on the keyboard with the screen upward to create a tablet. | LG’s P220 Laptop Looks Like A MacBook Pro Posted: 31 May 2011 03:14 AM PDT Earlier today we saw LG’s new all in one PC, the LG V300 which obviously takes its design inspiration for Apple’s iMac range, and now another new LG device has appeared at this years Computex, the LG P220 Laptop. As you will see in the photos below, the LG P220 Laptop looks very similar to Apple’s MacBook Pro, with a brushed aluminum unibody chassis and a 13 inch display, it also comes with a choice of Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors.

If Microsoft are showing off one new game for Windows Phone 7 at E3, then they will no doubt have a few more to debut, and it will be interesting to see what is being announced.

| NVIDIA Demos Shadowgun Game For Kal-El Quad Core Processors (Video) Posted: 31 May 2011 02:19 AM PDT Yesterday we saw a preview of NVIDIA’s new Kal-El quad core mobile processor, and now we have another video which shows a new game developed by Madfinger Games for NVIDIA new quad core processors called Shadowgun. The video below shows a test version of Shadowgun running on an Tegra 2 powered Acer Iconia tablet, it certainly looks very interesting and we suspect it will look even better on Kal-El powered tablets and smartphones.

| Linux Celebrates 20th Birthday By Releasing Kernel Version 3 By Linus Torvald Posted: 31 May 2011 01:54 AM PDT This year Linux is celebrating its 20th Birthday since its release by Linus Torvalds on August 26, 1991, and to celebrate the occasion, Linus Torvalds has now updated the open source OS kernel to version 3.0. The new Linux 3.0 RC1 (93 MB) download was published on the kernel.org mailing list at about 6 pm PST marking a new era for the Linux open source operating system.

| TransPhone Merges Mobile Phone And Tablet Posted: 31 May 2011 01:40 AM PDT A new breed of tablet, mobile phone hybrid device seems to be making the rounds at Computex this week, with the unveiling of a number of tablets that accept a mobile phone docked directly into their cases. This new Transphone designed and created by CMIT was first unveiled last Saturday pipping the Asus Padfone device to technology sites, around the Internet. The tablet portion of the Transphone comes equipped with a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Dual Core processor, and could be running Android but this has yet to be confirmed. | Angry Birds Magic Uses NFC (Video) Posted: 31 May 2011 12:36 AM PDT Rovio Mobile, the company behind the hugely popular Angry Birds games have revealed a new version of the game that will use NFC (Near Field Communications), called Angry Birds Magic. Angry Birds Magic will come pre-loaded on the Nokia C7, and you will be able to communicate with other C7 owners via NFC, tap the two phones together and you will be able to unlock new levels of the game, have a look at the video below.

| Sony To Restore Full PSN Services By End Of The Week Posted: 31 May 2011 12:19 AM PDT Sony has announced that they intend to restore full PlayStation Network services by the end of the week, this includes access to the PlayStation Store, although it doesn’t include Sony’s Qriocity music service in certain countries. Sony has said that full services will be restored in America, Europe and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea, and they have said that the services will be restored by the end of the week although they haven’t given an actual date.

The first range of Ultrabook laptops will go on sale before Christmas this year, and they will all be less than 20mm thick and will use the latest Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and all of them will retail for less than $1,000. | LG V300 All In One Touchscreen PC Unveiled Posted: 30 May 2011 11:25 PM PDT LG has announced a new all in one PC at this years Computex, the LG V300 and as you can see from the photos below, LG are obviously hoping that it will be able to compete will Apple’s iMac range as the design looks quite similar. The LG V300 features a 23 inch Full HD 3D display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, processing is provided by the latest Intel core i3, i5 and i7 processors, up to 8GB of RAM and up to a 750GB hard drive.
