NEC Outs Thin and Green 23-inch MultiSync EX231Wp Display

NEC has a bunch of display products in its line up including a bunch of LCD displays and other things. The company has added a new LCD to its line of offerings called the MultiSync EX231Wp. This screen is a desktop offering with 23-inches of space that is thin and lightweight and might be the perfect screen for workers on the go a lot that have to set up displays at trade shows or just want a thin screen for their desk.

MSI Launches GT780R Gaming Notebook

MSI has announced the launch of a new gaming notebook called the GT780R-012US. This very well equipped gaming notebook has some great hardware under its black case. The machine uses an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor and it runs Windows 7 Home Premium. The video card in the machine is a GeForce GTX 560M with 1.5GB of VRAM.

Aaron Ristau Rotobotmouse Wireless Mouse Version 2 Debuts

Aaron Ristau showed off the Rotobotmouse a long time ago and he is now back with a follow-up to that retro looking steampunk mouse. The new Wireless Mouse Version 2 is similar to the original with a Steampunk look to it. The new mouse has a design that is a bit more plain but has the same typewriter keys on it.

In a recent interview, Microsoft Game Studios head Phil Spencer flat out denied that the upcoming Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition might be anything other than an homage to the FPS that put the Xbox on the map.

Google Updates Mobile Search

Google has updated its Google Search for mobile devices, and the latest version comes with a range of new features which now makes it easier to search using your mobile device.

Google Mobile Search now features a number of shortcut icons on the mobile homepage which allow you to automatically search for a range of things based on your location, like restaurants, petrol stations and lots more.

Linux Live LiLi, The Bootable Linux Thumb Drive Creation Software

Linux Live have created a neat little software package that can help you create Bootable Linux OS thumb drives that can be opened under Windows. LiLi allows you to create live USB stick with any distro you would like enabling you to save files and setting between reboots.

Each drive you create using LiLi comes with is own VirtualBox allowing you to boot it from directly from within Windows.  No knowledge of VirtualBox is required as it automatically creates an .exe file on your new Linux drive that will take you directly into a virtualised session of your desired mobile distro.

HTC Desire Android 2.3 Update Cancelled By HTC

Bad news for owners of the original HTC Desire, as HTC has announced that they wont be releasing an official Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the original HTC Desire.

According to HTC the reason that the update has been cancelled is because the HTC Desire doesn’t have enough memory to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and the HTC Sense UI.

Skype Enabling Video Calls Via Comcast Cable Boxes

A new partnership between Comcast and Skype that has today been announced by both companies will shortly allow users to be able to make Skype video calls via Comcasts TV cable boxes.

The new service will start in 720p resolution but is planned to be upgraded to 1080p alter on, Comcast customers will also be able to send instant messages via Skype on a television while watching their favorite TV show at the same time. Comcast customers will also be able to access mobile features conveniently through Comcast’s Xfinity Mobile app.

Amazon Rumoured To Offer Prime Movie Streaming On Its New Android Tablets

Its has been rumoured by analysts this month that Amazon is currently developing a new service that will stream movies to its forthcoming own-branded tablets. The new rumoured Android Amazon tablets will support its video streaming system, which is currently offered free to Amazon’s Prime customers.

The Boston-based research firm Detwiler Fenton’s claim could be the first well-sourced confirmation of the service, reports of which were purely speculative until now. Rumours also suggest that the new Amazon tablets will heavily support Amazon's Cloud Locker streaming music service, and the Amazon Appstore.

AT&T Won’t Unlock Your Existing iPhone 4?

Apple started selling an unlocked iPhone 4 in the US earlier today, it is the GSM version which has previously been available with mobile operator AT&T, and now it seems that AT&T is unable to unlock your existing iPhone 4 for you.

According to @chronicwire, and Mike for Gadgetsteria, who have both contacted AT&T, the company has said that they are unable to unlock any iPhone 4′s at this time.

Sony Unveils New iOS Speaker Docks

Sony has announced two new speaker docks designed specifically for iOS devices today  in the form of the SRS-GX50IP and the portable SRS-GM5IP pictured below.

Even though Sony has only just announced its own Sony Ericsson Txt Pro And Mix Walkman Mobile Phones its still able to see the advantages of supplying a competitor with docks for its devices, supporting the iPhone 3G/3GS/4, the iPod classic/touch, 5th gen iPods, and nanos from generation 2 to 6.

ZTE Light Plus Android Tablet

ZTE has added another Android tablet to their range, the ZTE Light Plus, which will feature a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480, and it will come with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.

Other specifications on the ZTE Light Plus include a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, a microSD card slot, WiFi, HSDPA and a 3.5mm audio jack.

2011 MacBook Air Launching In Late June?

Yesterday we heard that Apple had started making the next generation MacBook Air’s, and we thought that they would go on sale some time in July, but now it seems that according to a recent report by Reuters, the new 2011 MacBook Air’s may go on sale at the end of June.

We still don’t know any details on what will be inside the new 2011 MacBook Air, although we suspect that they will feature the latest Intel Sandy Bridge processors and also Intel’s Thunderbolt technology.

LG Optimus 3D Delayed For UK?

The LG Optimus 3D was due to go on sale in the UK shortly, but now according to one UK retailer the LG Optimus has been delayed and may not go on sale in the UK until the 11th of July.

According to UK mobile retailer Clove, they were due to take delivery of the Optimus 3D today, but it seems that this has now been delayed until the 11th of June, we are not sure as yet if this applies to all retailers here in the UK.

Motorola Televation Live TV Streaming Device Announced

Motorola has announced the Motorola Televation, which is a new device that can be connected to your router, and it then uses your home network to stream live TV to connected devices.

The Motorola Televation automatically converts live TV streams so they are compatible with the resolution on your connected device, and they are also launching SDK for both Android and iOS so that custom apps can be created to work with the device.

Apple iPad With Prototype 3D Display (Video)

The guys over at Netbook News spotted an iPad fitted with a 3D prototype display at the Display Taiwan conference, the display seems to have been installed into a first generation iPad by display manufacturer CPT.

Whilst this isn’t confirmation that Apple will produce a 3D iPad in the future, it certainly lets us know that it is possible if one manufacturer is already working on a 3D display that is compatible with the iPad, have a look at the video of it in action below.

HP Working On Cloud Music Service For webOS

It seems that another company is in discussion with the record labels about bringing a music streaming service to their tablet and smartphone operating system, according to a recent report by Billboard, HP is in discussion with a number of record labels about launching their own music streaming service for webOS.

According to the report, HP will offer music, movies and TV show streaming to their webOS range of devices, like the new HP TouchPad which is due to go on sale shortly.

AMD Launches Fusion A-Series Chip

AMD has this week unveiled its new hybrid CPU / GPU chips named the Fusion A-Series, previously codenamed “Llano”, designed for desktops and mainstream laptops. The Fusion A-Series chips have been designed to take on Intel’s Core 2011 line-up and will provide superior processing with discrete-level graphics, together with a massive 10-plus hours of battery life.

Fusion A-Series have already made the production line for some PCs which have already started shipping and AMD says that 150 can be expected to arrive this year.

Just 50 Percent Of iPhone’s Are Synced With iTunes

According to a recent report by One FPS, just 50 percent of all iPhone’s that have been brought into the Genius bars at Apple stores have been backed up and synced with iTunes.

This seems like a really high figure, and would mean that half of iPhone users don’t have their iPhone data backed up, opf course the users had to connect their iPhone to iTunes when they got it to activate it, but it is surprising that so many would not connect it again to back up their data.

Toshiba Unveils New Satellite P700 Laptop

Toshiba has unveiled their new Toshiba Satellite P700 laptops which has now been added to their Satellite range and will be replacing the the Satellite A660 and M640 lines. The new P700 has been designed for gaming and multimedia and will even support 3D-gaming.

Its available in three screen sizes : 14″, 15″ or 17″  and is powered by either an AMD A6-3400M processor with discrete Radeon graphics or Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 CPUs and optional Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics with Optimus.

Its also equipped with Harman/kardon speakers to provide a more rounded multimedia and gaming experience, together with Dolby and Waves audio, USB 3.0, and optional Blu-ray/Intel Wireless Display/WiMA.

HP Working On webOS NFC Tablets And Smartphones

Google have already started testing out their new NFC payment service for smartphones, and we have also heard rumors that Apple is working on their own NFC payments for future iOS devices.

Unlocked iPhone 4 Now Available In The US For $649

Nintendo Sells 1 Million 3DS Units In Japan

We have been hearing reports that the Nintendo 3DS isn’t as popular as the company had hoped, although it seems it is still popular amongst Nintendo fans, as Nintendo has announced that they have sold a total of 1 million 3DS consoles in Japan.

It took Nintendo a total of 13 weeks to reach the 1 million 3DS consoles sold, this compares to just four weeks for the original Nintendo DS console, and the original Sony PSP took just 7 weeks to reach the 1 million mark.

Both Apple and Nokia have been suing each other over alleged patent infringements over the last year, and now it seems that the two companies have come to an agreement which puts and end to the various lawsuit.

According to 9 to 5 Mac, Apple has paid Nokia a one off payment and they will also pay Nokia royalties for use of the Nokia patents, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop, had the following to say about the agreement.

Bioware Considers Kinect New Mass Effect 3 Platform

Bioware honestly thinks that I’m going to sit in my living room and yell commands at my console while playing Mass Effect 3′s single player campaign. And, honestly, that wouldn’t be so bad if they acknowledged it as a gimmick and just something they’d like to try. We’ve seen a bit of what they plan to do with Kinect and maybe it could work to some extent. But they seem like they’re taking the thing a bit too seriously.

Bethesda’s Brink Site Hacked As Well

We are too, but just in case you’re a Brink player, we wanted to give you a quick a heads up that you may want to change your Xbox Live password, since Bethesda’s Brink site was hit by Lulz Security over the weekend. Spanish Police DDoS-Attacked After Sony Hack Arrests

In the wake of three arrests by the Spanish Police in connection with several attacks on Sony websites, as well as some bank and government websites, but not the PSN outage itself, Anonymous has responded by taking down the Spanish Police website for an hour. The so-called “hacktivist” group has also issued a statement in connection with the DDoD attack.

At least that’s the takeaway from a Ubisoft round table where senior technical architect Marc Parenteau talked about the process of porting Assassin’s Creed Revelations to Nintendo’s new console.
