This is really cool, artist Marek Tomasik has created one of the geekiest rooms I have ever seen. The room has walls made out of old computer parts. It appears that most of the parts are pieces from computer cases and other items. The effect is more than a bit creepy, but looks really cool.

Dig this, perusing the product page for the Atom Watch  reveals the lovely sales pitch: “perfect for pondering space and time.” It’s awkward enough to convince a person to buy. As a stylish accessory, the Atom Watch is top notch. As a timepiece, uh, it kinda falls short of expectations.

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) has a 1,000 foot diameter and 11,000 tons of ‘overhanging mirrors’ to perform its job, which is to communicate with alien life forms.

Duke Nukem Forever PR Threatens Negative Reviews With Blacklisting

Posted: 15 Jun 2011 07:26 AM PDT

We understand the frustration of seeing fifteen years of work get torn to shreds at the hands of game reviewers. There are people out there who have been working on this game for their entire adult lives. But we will never ever understand the rationale behind PR companies blacklisting sites or writers based on negative reviews. Publicly threatening to do so even if you don’t plan on following through is doubly puzzling.

Orre-what? It’s a mechanical device whose resulting motions follow the orbital paths of our solar system’s heavenly bodies. Seen below is the finished project of Make enthusiast Guy Himber who confesses his inspiration was the movie Dark Crystal. (A one of a kind classic, in our opinion.) Of course, anyone who’s ever gazed at a map of our solar system is aware the planets are off—that’s cos they’re made up for convenience’s sake. The orrery down south is a contender in a Lego competition and is in the running as a crowd favorite.
