It’s all happening at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany. Among the wonders on display is this LED square display from Samsung which is said to deliver a 1:1 ratio LED square display, It is model number UD22B. This LED square display is meant for commercial applications and is expected to be available before the year is out.

LG announces Game World

LG has announced their Smart TV game portal called Game World at IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany. Game World is all about downloadable casual 3D games right in your living room. And there is always room for another game service. We never seem to tire of new casual games.

Sony getting out of PC optical drive business

Well, it had a nice long run, but now it is being reported that Sony is closing Optiarc Inc., the subsidiary that manufactures optical disc drives for PCs and other devices. Officials say that the reason is due to “fierce competition” that forced prices down.

Amazon claims more items are shipped with Prime than free shipping

We don’t often hear Amazon boasting about it’s stats for either it’s products and services, but today it has some boasting to do. According to the company, its $79 a year Prime service just crossed a milestone. Amazon is shipping more items with Prime’s two-day shipping than with its standard Free Super Saver Shipping.

Awesome Walking Paper Biped Robot (video)

We have featured a number of paper crafted builds here on Geeky Gadgets over the years but this walking biped robot made entirely from paper, is up there with the best.

Constructed completely from paper, using a number of elastic bands and a couple of wooden shafts to provide the power, the robot is capable of taking steps. Watch the videos after the jump to learn more about this fantastic paper walking robot project and see it in action.

Adobe Revel 1.5 Update Rolls Out For Mac And iOS

Adobe has rolled out a new version of their Revel photo cloud storage application over the weekend taking it to version 1.5 for Mac and iOS devices.

Apple Wins $1.05 Billion In Damages From Samsung

The ongoing court battle between Apple vs Samsung over patent infringements has been a long and hard battle between the two technology giants.

But over the weekend after 21 hours and 37 minutes of deliberation following the three week trial, the jury ruled all but three of the devices listed within the court case infringed on Apple patents.

UPuter Pi Allwinner A10 Mini PC Launches For $69

If you are looking for something that taken its inspiration from the Raspberry Pi mini PC, and runs Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system, you might be interested in the newly created UPuter Pi.

The UPuter Pi is equipped with a Allwinner A10 CPU 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A8 multi-core processor supported by a Mali400 graphic engine. With models available that are either equipped with 4GB and 8GB of storage, and 512MB or 1GB of RAM.

Star Wars Episode II and III 3D re-releases get official dates for theaters

If you weren’t put off by the Star Wars prequels and maybe even liked them, we have some good news for you. Remember the plan to bring all of the Star Wars movies to theaters in 3D? Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace came back to the theaters earlier this year in 3D and the plan was to bring the other five movies to theaters one at a time each year, but that has now changed.

Samsung has taken the wraps off their new Galaxy Player 5.8 this week, which is equipped with a 5.8 inch LCD screen providing a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.

The Galaxy Player 5.8 has Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system installed, together with the latest version of TouchWiz, Samsung’s touch interface which was developed in-house.

XDA Developers have announced they have pushed Google’s Nexus 7 tablet NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor to new heights this week, overclocking the new Google tablet to a blisteringly quick 2GHz. Beating the overclocking carried out earlier this month that pushed the Nexus 7 Tegra 3 processor to 1.7 Ghz.

Dropbox Two-Step Authentication Now Available To Beta Test

After experiencing unauthorised access to some of its users accounts back in July, Dropbox has this week started beta testing a new two-step authentication, increasing security for users.

The new Dropbox two-step authentication allows you to add your devices to a whitelist for access to your Dropbox account and files, reducing the likely hood of your account being hacked and your files being compromised.
