Spotify Radio for Desktop gets Ranking Feature

If you’re a fan of streaming music from the Internet to your computer at home or in the office, Spotify has added a new feature to its desktop application you might enjoy. Spotify now allows users to store the songs they like by giving them a thumbs up saving, it to a “Liked from Radio” playlist. This feature was previously not available on the desktop app.

Samsung Updates Series 7 Gamer Laptop with 3-D Screen

Samsung has launched a new version of their 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Student Edition, which is basically the original device bundled with a few extras.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Student Edition comes with a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is powered by a 1GHz TI OMAP4 dual core processor.

Google Confirms Motorola Job Cuts In SEC Filing

Earlier today we heard that Google intends to cut jobs at Motorola, with around 20 percent of the workforce loosing their jobs, and now Google has confirmed the cuts in a recent SEC filing.

The filing also revealed that Google expects Motorola to loose up to $275 million in the process of it cutting the jobs and also in closing down one third of the Motorola’s offices.

Apple Wanted Samsung To Pay $30 For Smartphone And $40 For Tablet Patents

With the Apple and Samsung trial in full force in the US we are getting more and more details about the dealings between the two companies, and now we have some details on how much Apple wanted to charge Samsung for patent licenses.

According to a recent report by The Verge, Apple wanted to charge Samsung $30 for each smartphone and $40 for each tablet that they sold, these figures were from a 2010 meeting between the two companies.

Disney Researchers Create Multitouch Controllers From Plants (video)

Disney’s researchers have created an unusual yet innovative technology that can convert plants into multitouch controllers. Allowing certain areas of the plants to be assigned specific triggers that can be used to play music or interact with software.

Black Samsung Galaxy S3 Coming To The UK In September

Samsung’s Galaxy S3 smartphone is currently available in white and blue versions, there have been a number if stories over the weekend that a black version will soon be launching.

Now we have had confirmation from UK mobile phone retailer Mobilefun that they will be stocking a SIM free black Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, the device is expected to be available in four to six weeks, which means it should launch some time in September.

Adafruit Creates A Raspberry Pi Light Painting Module

If you fancy creating custom photographs with a light painting effects, Adafruit has created an interesting module which can be used with the awesome Raspberry Pi $35 mini PC which is definitely worth more investigation.

Wii U European Release Date Pushed Back Into December (Rumour)

Sources close to Nintendo and the Computer and Videogames (CVG) website have revealed that the launch date in Europe for the Nintendo Wii U might have to be pushed back into December.

CVG report that their sources says the delay is due to issues in the manufacturing process of the Wii U, and have already caused Nintendo to delay the release of a confirmed launch date within Europe.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga Will Be Lenovo’s Windows RT Tablet

Last week we heard that Lenovo would be launching a new convertible Windows RT tablet later this year, and now it would appear that the device will be one that Lenovo first announced back at CES in January of this year, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga was first show off at CES, although very few specifications on the device were announced, the original device had an Intel processor, where as the new Windows RT version will come with an ARM based processor.

Kim Dotcom To Launch Megabox Music Service Later This Year

Tata AirPod Is An Air Powered Prototype Car

Indian car company Tata has shown of a new prototype car called the Tata AirPod, and as the name suggests the AirPod is powered by compressed air using technology which they have licensed from Luxembourg’s MDI.

The AirPod is only in the prototype stages at the moment, it is a one seated vehicle which can travel at speed of between 45 and 75 kilometers per hour, and it is powered by a tank of compressed air.

Awesome Lego Dark Knight Batman Motorised Bat and Tumbler (video)

Lego master builder Peer Kreuger latest creation shave taken the form of motorised models of the Batman Tumbler and The Bat, from the latest Batman movie Dark Knight Rises.

Assassin’s Creed 3 PC Launch Date Announced

Back in July it was revealed by Ubisoft that the PC version of their latest Assassin’s Creed 3 game would be delayed and released sometime after the console versions of the game, created for PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Luckily for PC games waiting to play the new Assassin’s Creed 3 game, will not have too long to wait after console gamers. As last Friday Ubisoft announced that the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 3 will be launching on November 20th, 2012.

13 Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro Appears In Benchmarks Again

When Apple launched their new 15 inch Retina Display MacBook Pro earlier this year, we heard rumors that Apple was also working on a 13 inch version, and the device previously appeared in some benchmarks.

Barnes & Noble Cut Their NOOK Tablet Prices

Crysis 3 Awesome Tech Trailer Released (video)

Apple Wants $2 Billion In Damages From Samsung On Galaxy S Devices

Apple and Samsung are engaged in a major lawsuit in the US, the two companies are currently fighting it out in court, and now we get some details on just how much Apple wants from Samsung in damages.

According to a recent report, Apple is seeking a total of $1.98 billion in damages from Samsung on the original Galaxy S smartphone and the Galaxy S II smartphone.

Google To Cut 20 Percent Of Motorola Workforce

Google recently acquired Motorola back in May, and now Motorola has announced that they will be cutting their global workforce by 20 percent, and they will also be closing some of Motorola’s offices.

Motorola has a total of 94 offices, these will be reduced by around a third, obviously Google are looking to turn Motorola around, and they have also announced that they will stop making low end devices.
