Roximity App Launches for iOS Devices

Ford has announced a new application that supports the iPhone and will be coming for other platforms later called Roximity. The new app is designed specifically to work with Ford’s Sync AppLink. When the app is installed on your smartphone, drivers then connect the smartphone to the car using the onboard USB plug.

Nintendo 3DS outsells PS Vita in Japan

I wouldn’t have believed this, but the weekly sales figures from Japan have been released and it looks like Nintendo's 3DS console is outselling the PS Vita. The Vita sold 8,203 units from July 30th to August 5th. This is about a 10% decline from the week before that, which saw 9,081 units sold.

Samsung Says They Are Not Interested In RIMs BlackBerry

RIM’s CEO Thorsten Heins recently announced that RIM are considering licensing their BlackBerry OS to other smartphone manufacturers, and there have been a number of rumors about various manufacturers licensing the technology.

One of those companies is Samsung, and now Samsung has announced that they have no interesting in licensing BlackBerry 10 from RIM.

More iPhone 5 Parts Leaked (Rumor)

We have already seen quite a few parts of what are reported to be for Apple’s new iPhone 5, and now we have another photo which shows even more parts of the handset as well as the new Nano SIM card.

The photo below was posted on a Chinese forum, and it shows the devices back and front casing as well as a number of other parts, including the home button.

Valve Starting To Selling Non-Gaming Software Via Steam On September 5th

Valve has announced that from the 5th September 2012, their Steam games network will start to offer non-gaming software to purchase and download to its users.

Software offered via the Steam software network would also include the Steamworks features, providing automatic updates and the ability for users to save software data on to the Steam Cloud.

Asus Transformer TF300TL With LTE Launching This Month

Asus has announced that they will be launching an LTE enabled version of their Transformer TF300 tablet, the Asus Transformer TF300TL, and the device will launch in Germany and Austria later this month.

The Asus Transformer TF300TL will retail for 529 Euros, about $651 as the stand alone tablet, and 629 Euros, about $774 when it comes bundled with the keyboard dock.

Skyrim 1.7 Update Arrives Today On Xbox 360 And PS3

Earlier this week via a Tweet, Bethesda Skyrim’s game developer announced that a new update Skyrim 1.7 would be rolling out to Xbox 260 and PS3 consoles in North America today.

Unfortunately PS3 console owners living within Europe will have to wait just a little longer for the Skyrim 1.7 update which is expected to roll out in Europe next week sometime.

HTC To Announce Windows Phone 8 Devices Next Month

We have been hearing a number of rumors recently that HTC are working on a new range of Windows Phone 8 devices, Microsoft has yet to announce when Windows Phone 8 will launch, but it could be some time in October when Windows 8 launches.

Now according to a recent report by WPDang, HTC will announce their first Windows Phone 8 devices next month, and it looks like they will be unveiled in the third week of September.

Sleeping Dogs PC Features Trailer Revealed (video)

A new trailer has been released for the PC version of the Sleeping Dogs game, currently preparing to launch in a few days time, and which has been developed by United Front Games in conjunction with Square Enix London Studios.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Lands On 16th August In Hong Kong

Samsung have announced that their new Galaxy Note 10.1 will launch globally this month, the company are holding a special event on the 15th of August when we are expecting to find out what the actual launch dates for the device will be in various countries.

Now it looks like we have our first official launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, it will go on sale i n Hong Kong on the 16th of August for HKD 4,998 which works out at around $644.

RIM’s $147 Million Patent Ruling Overturned

Last month we heard that RIM were ordered to pay a total of $147 million in a patent case with Mformation, RIM had been ordered to pay $8 for each unit of its BlackBerry Enterprise Server software that it has sold, and RIM has sold a total of 18.4 million units.

Now it would appear that RIM finally has some good news, as RIM has announced that the patent ruling has been overturned, and they no longer need to pay Mformation the $147 million in damages.

HTC G1 Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Port (Video)

The HTC G1 was the first ever Android smartphone, the device was launched back in 2008, and now some of the guys from the XDA Developers, have decided it would be a good idea to port the latest version of Google’s mobile OS to the device.

The SoCal Devs managed to port CynaogenMod 10, which is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the HTC G1 have a look at the video of it in action below.

Lenovo ThinkPad T430u Finally Starts Shipping

Following on from the announcement made yesterday by Lenovo, announcing the launch of their new slim and lightweight ThinkPad X1 Ultrabook later this month.

Anyone patiently waiting for the arrival of the Lenovo’s ThinkPad T430u Ultrabook, first unveiled back in January of this year, will be pleased to know that Lenovo has this week announced it will finally arriving in stores this later this month for around $779.

Nikon Coolpix L610 Compact Camera Announced

Nikon has announced its latest compact camera, the Nikon Coolpix L610 which comes with a 16 megapixel backside illuminated CMOS sensor and a 14x optical zoom NIKKOR ED glass lens.

Microsoft BUILD 2012 Developer Conference Sells Out In Less Than An Hour

Yesterday tickets for Microsoft’s BUILD 2012 developer conference went on sale and within less than an hour were completely sold out. Prices for the tickets to the BUILD 2012 conference started at $1595 for the first 500 tickets as an early bird promotion by Microsoft, and were quickly snapped up in the first few minutes of going on sale.

Lenovo ThinkPad 2 Windows 8 Tablet Announced

Lenovo has officially unveiled its first Windows 8 tablet, the Lenovo ThinkPad 2 which will launch in October, it features a 10 inch touchscreen IPS display with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

The Lenovo ThinkPad 2 is powered by an Intel Atom processor and it comes with a battery which will give you up to 10 hours of usage, the new Windows 8 tablet also features dual cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy Note has finally gone on sale ay US mobile carrier T-Mobile, the handset is available for $249 after a $50 mail in rebate when you sign up to a new two year contract with T-Mobile.

The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it also features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

Sony Xperia GX Launced In Japan

We first heard about the new Sony Xperia GX back in May, and now the handset has launched in Japan with mobile carrier NTT DoCoMo, and we are expecting to heard more about it at IFA later this month, when hopefully we should get a launch date for the rest of the world.

Ouya Open Source Android Gaming Console Raises Over $8.5 Million From Kickstarter (video)

The new Ouya open source gaming console that is set to change the face of console gaming, has now finished it funding project on Kickstarter and has raised over $8.5 million in the process, from 63,300 Kickstarter backers.

Counter-Strike: GO Available To Pre-Order Launching August 21st

Valve has this week started accepting pre-orders for their new Counter-Strike: GO sequel to the popular Counterstrike FPS game launched back in 1999.

Nikon 1 J2 Mirrorless Camera Announced

Nikon has announced a new version of its mirrorless camera, the Nikon 1 J2, which is an update version of the Nikon 1 J1, and it comes with the same 10 megapixel CMOS sensor that was in the J1.

It also features the same 73 point auto-focus system, and a 10 frames per second burst mode, plus manual exposure controls, aperture and shutter priority modes, it can record HD video in 1080p at 30 frames per second and also has a built in pop up flash.

Yesterday we saw a render of what might be the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2, we have previously heard that the Galaxy Note 2 would come with a flexible display, and now it would appear that we may have some more details.

As with the previous rumor, the Samsung Galaxy Note is expected to feature a 5.5 inch flexible AMOLED display, although you wont actually be able to bend the display on the device.

Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Launching August 19th

Motorola announced the new Photon Q 4G LTE last month, and now it looks like we have a possible launch date for the device, according to the guys over at PhoneDog, the handset will launch on Sprint on the 19th of August.

As a reminder the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, and features a slide out QWERTY keyboard, processing is provided by a dual core 1.5GHz processor and it comes with a 4.3 inch touchscreen display.
