The Simpsons: Tapped Out returns to the App Store this week

Back in March EA pulled The Simpsons: Tapped Out from the iTunes App Store. The problem was server connection issues that impaired the game play experience for players. It seemed temporary at the time and we figured that EA would work on the servers for a better experience, but then months passed and we weren’t sure if we would see it again.

NuForce DDA-100 Amp Promises Audiophile Sound Quality

NuForce has announced a new amplifier aimed at audiophiles called the DDA-100. The new amplifier is far from cheap at $549 but promises to deliver the sort of sound that is typically reserved for much more expensive audiophile hardware. The key to the performance of the device is that it doesn’t require the typical DAC stage that most amplifiers use.

Sprint Cuts iPhone 4S Price Another $100

We mentioned earlier this week that Sprint had cut the price of the iPhone 4S by $50 and waved the activation fee for new contracts. If getting iPhone 4S with 16 GB of storage for $149.99 wasn’t enough to get you to dig for your wallet, this new deal may be. Sprint is offering the 16 GB iPhone 4S at a much more significant discount.

EA Origin Games Network Coming To Mac

Following in the footsteps of  Valve’s Steam Network which arrived on Mac systems back in May 2010. EA has now announced that is will be following suit and bringing its Origin games network to Mac systems.

Origin currently has around 21 million users 500 games from more than 50 publishers, and the expansion to Mac systems as well as Android and Facebook is sure to bolster the ranks even further.

Netflix Arriving In Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland Later This Year

Today Netflix the on-demand Internet streaming media company has announced that their service will be arriving in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland before the end of the year.

Dropbox Beta For Android Brings Nexus 7 Enhancements And More

Dropbox has unveiled a new beta version of its Android application this week, which brings with it a number of new enhancements for Google’s new Nexus 7 Android tablet.

ChargeCard For Micro USB Ports Introduced

Some readers might remember the ChargeCard we featured in the middle of last month, which was a credit card sized charging cable for iOS devices, currently looking to make the jump from concept to production over on the Kickstarter website.

ChargeCard creators Noah Dentzel and Adam Miller, have now unveiled their latest creation after popular demand, a ChargeCard for Micro USB devices. Allowing a wider range of devices and smartphones to now be charged in a similar way, including Android, Blackberry, Kindle, digital camera or Jambox gadgets.

The Last of Us Gamescom Trailer (video)

Fans of the upcoming new The Last Of Us game which is currently under development by Naughty Dog, might enjoy this Gamescom trailer, showing a little of Joel’s past.

The trailer doesn’t particularly have lots of new footage and include a few clips we have seen already spliced together, but its sure to whet your appetite a little more in preparation for the games release later this year.

Nokia Windows Phone 8 Front Panel Leaked

We have already seen some leaked photos of a couple of Windows Phone 8 prototype devices, and now we have a photo of what is reported to be the front panel of one of Nokia’s new Windows Phone 8 devices.

According to the guys over at Know Your Mobile, the photo below shows a screen size of around 4.3 inches, which could mean that this new Nokia Windows Phone will feature a HD display with a 720p resolution.

PS Vita 1.8 Update Rolled Out By Sony

A new update has been rolled out by Sony for its PS Vita handheld gaming console that brings with a number of new features and enhancements, as well as PSOne Classics support.

The PSOne Classics support will be arriving later this month on August 28th and the latest PS Vita 1.8 update also enables support for using the buttons on the consoles handheld’s menu.

Samsung has been working on the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their new flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S III, and now it looks like we may have a possible launch date for the Jelly Bean update.

Avatar Blu-ray 3D Collectors Edition (video)

It has been a long time coming, but if you enjoyed the 3D version of James Cameron’s Avatar blockbuster movie at the movie theatre, and have been waiting for its arrival on Blu-Ray disk. You might be pleased to learn that the Avatar Blu-ray 3D Collectors Edition is arriving on October 16th 2012.

LG Announces Sales Of 5 Million LTE Smartphones

LG has announced that they have now sold a total of 5 million LTE enabled smartphones, this is an increase of 1 million over the 4 million LTE devices they announced last month.

LG sold a total of one million LTE enabled handsets in July, and LG are intending to release some of their LTE enabled devices globally, like the new LG Optimus Vu, which we heard yesterday would land in the US next month.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 To Retail For £414 In The UK

Samsung announced their new Galaxy Note 10.1 a while back, at the time of the announcement we didn’t have any pricing on the device, and now we have some details for all of the various models.

The entry level Samsung Galaxy Note which comes with WiFi and 16GB of built in storage will retail for £414 including taxes, and the WiFi and 3G versions, also with 16GB of built in storage will retail for £508.80 including taxes.

Diablo III Starter Edition Now Available For Free To All

Blizzard has today revealed via a press release and announcement on the battle.net website, that the Starter Edition of Diablo III is now available to all for free, and no longer requires a disk to be installed.

The Starter Edition of Diablo III allows players to progress to Skeleton King boss in Act I, and advance all the way to level 13, without having to purchase a copy of Diablo III.

Motorola Droid 4 Gets Android ICS Update

Yesterday we heard that Verizon had released some details on the Android 4.0 ice Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola Droid 4, and now it looks like the update has started rolling out.

Microsoft Surface Windows RT Tablet To Retail For $199 (Rumor)

Microsoft will launch their new Windows RT tablet in October, the Microsoft Surface tablet, we have previously heard rumors that the tablet would cost around $600, but now according to the guys over at Engadget, it may retail for a lot less.

According to Engadget, Microsoft may sell the Surface RT tablet for $199, which would probably be lower that what it costs Microsoft to actually make the device.

RIM To Start Showing BlackBerry Smartphones To Mobile Carriers

Yesterday we heard that RIM are getting ready to license their new BlackBerry 10 OS to other manufacturers, and now the company will start showing its new BlackBerry 10 devices with the various mobile carriers.

Outlook.com Passes 10 Million Registered Users In Just 2 Weeks

Adobe To Remove Flash Player From Google Play Store Today

Adobe announced a while back that they would no longer me supporting Flash on mobile devices, and now it looks like Adobe are removing the final version of Flash from Google’s Android OS.

Apple Has 70 Percent Of The Tablet Market According To Report

Apple’s iPad has been the most popular tablet since the first model was introduced back in 2010, and now according to a recent report by IHS iSuppli, Apple now has almost 70percent of the tablet market.

The 69.6 percent share is for the second quarter of 2012, this is up from a 58 percent share in the first quarter of 2012, in second pace is Samsung with a 9.2 percent share and in third place is Amazon with a 5.8 percent share.

Toshiba Cancels Windows RT Tablet

Yesterday Microsoft announced its Windows RT partners, which include  Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Samsung, one company was missing from the list, Toshiba who had previously said they would be making Windows RT (ARM) tablets.

Now Toshiba has told Cnet the reason why they have decided not to make a Windows RT tablet, it is due to the supply of components, here is the statement from Toshiba.
