Last time it was a Monopoly-set, now it’s something more creative. This wicked mandolin surfaced over at Etsy last month and has since made the round in various blogs. Dubbed the Dragon Mandolin, the merchant (sounds medieval right?) Tony Templeton claims on his page that the custom-body also applies to guitars. This might be the time to recommend such to a friend who’s in a metal band.

| LG Spectrum 4G LTE Poses For The Camera Posted: 09 Jan 2012 08:30 AM PST It looks like LG is showing off their latest Android smartphone at CES 2012, as the guys from The Verge have got some photos of this new 4G LTE device which is headed to Verizon wireless, the LG Spectrum. It doesn’t look like there is any sort of official announcement with the full specifications as yet, but what we know so far is that it will come with a 4.5 inch True HD IPS touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, it is powered by a dual core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S3 processor, and also features 1GB of RAM.

| USB 3.0 Headed To Tablets And Smartphones By The End Of The Year Posted: 09 Jan 2012 08:03 AM PST The USB Standards setting organization has announced that USB 3.0 will be headed to smartphones and tablets by the end of 2012, and it looks like devices will get a microUSB 3.0 port. The new USB 3.0 on your tablet or smartphone will enable faster data transfer between you device and your computers, with speeds of around 800 Mbps, this means that a file which would normally take 15 minutes to transfer would only take around 1 minute and 10 seconds.

| Canon Powershot G1 X Camera Announced Posted: 09 Jan 2012 06:34 AM PST Canon has announced the latest camera in its Powershot range, the Canon Powershot G1X, which features a 1.5 inch 14.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, which is apparently the largest sensor that Canon has used in their Powershot range. The Canon Powershot G1x features an ISO range up to 12800, and a 4x optical zoom lens with an aperture of f/2.8 to f/16, and it is capable of recording full high definition video in 1080p.

| Vizio Announces Laptops And All In One PCs Posted: 09 Jan 2012 06:20 AM PST We heard some rumors last week that Vizio would be entering the PC market with a new range of laptops and all in one PCs, its now official and the company has announced five new devices. Vizio’s new range consists of two all in One PCs, one with a 24 inch display and one with a 27 inch display, there will also be two ultra thin laptops, a 14 inch model and a 15.6 inch model, plus a standard 15.6 inch laptop.

| Huawei Ascend P1 S Android Smartphone Announced Posted: 09 Jan 2012 06:05 AM PST Huawei has added another Android smartphone to its line up with the launch of the Huawei Ascend P1 S, which features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels. the Huawei Ascend P1 S is powered by a dual core TI OMAP 4460 1.5GHz processor and it also features the SGX 540 graphics processor and will come with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other specifications on the Huawei P1 S include an 8 megapixel back side illuminated camera and a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, plus an 1670 mAh battery, WiFi, DLNA and HDMI out. | Sony Ericsson MT72i Smartphone Leaked Posted: 09 Jan 2012 03:50 AM PST It looks like Sony Ericsson has another new Android smartphone in the works, which is reported to be the successor to the Xperia Neo V, the Sony Ericsson MT72i which is codenamed Pepper. The Sony Ericsson MT27i is reported to come with a 3.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, and the device will be powered by a dual core 1GHz processor and also feature a 5 megapixel camera which can record HD video in 720p.

Both devices can be connected to WiFi, and they can then be viewed through the web on Samsung’s SmartCam website, they are capable of capturing 640 x 480 video in H.264 at 30 frames per second.
