Girl posts cash pile image on Facebook, house gets robbed within hours

Don’t tell them when you are going on vacation and leaving your house unattended and just like in any city, don’t go flashing a wad of cash around. A home in Australia was robbed last week by two masked men, a few hours after an image of cash appeared on Facebook. posted by a 17-year-old girl who was helping count her grandmother's savings.

Facebook Rumoured to Be Purchasing Face.com

BBC Confirms No iPlayer App Planned For Windows Phone In The Immediate Future

Contrary to a Nokia spokesperson saying that a BBC iPlayer app was currently in development and only a few weeks way from being launched. The BBC has today confirmed that no such app is being planned and that it has no plans to develop one in the immediate future.

Monster Shows off Three New Headphones

Monster no longer makes the popular Beats headphones after the split between the partners. Monster is still making headphones though and it has unveiled three new sets at the Monaco Grand Prix. Yahoo Livestand iOS News App Bites The Dust

During the last Yahoo! earnings call, the company revealed that it was going to discontinue or consolidate a number of products across Yahoo!’s technology platforms during the course of 2012.

Unfortunately for some, one of those services to be closed down is the Yahoo! Livestand iOS news application. Yahoo! say they are moving to a more mobile-products-first development model, which follows on from the recent launch of Yahoo!’s Axis browser plug-in.

Absinthe Jailbreak Used On 1 Million iOS Devices Over The Weekend

On Friday the Chronic Dev team released the new Absinthe 2.0 Jailbreak for Apple’s iOS devices, the jailbreak works on a number of Apple’s iOS devcies which are running iOS 5.1.1.

It would appear that the Absinthe 2.0 jailbreak was incredibly popular over the weekend as it was used to jailbreak almost one million iOS devices in just a couple of days.

Daylight Viewfinder for iPhone (video)

GameStop Now Stocking Android Tablets In Over 1,600 Stores

Following on from the rumour reported earlier this month that GameStop might begin to sell refurbished MacBooks. GameStop has announced this week that they have begun to stock and sell Android tablets at over 1,600 of their U.S. stores.

Renault Demos Alpine A110-50 Concept Supercar (Video)

Renault has released a video  and some photos of a new Aline concept supercar, the Renault Alpine A110-50, and the company unveiled this new concept carat this years Monaco Grand Prix which took place over the weekend.

The Renault A110-50 takes its design inspiration and styling from the Renault DeZir concept that was shown off a few years ago, it will have a 24 valve V6 engine and is capable of around 400 hp.

BBC iPlayer Arriving On Windows Phone In Next Few Weeks

PayPal Announces New Mobile Payment Deal With 15 Retailers

It looks like PayPal has decided to expand its mobile payments as the company has signed a deal with 15 new retailers in the US, PayPal previously announced a deal earlier in the year with retailer The Home Depot.

Sony Confirms No Android 4.0 For Xperia Play

Whern Sony announced their android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update list, one of the devices that was on the list was the Xperia Play, and last week we heard that the handset had been removed from the list.

The Nest Thermostat was announced last year, and the device was invented by former Apple employee Tony Fadell, who was the Senior Vice President of Apple’s iPod division.

The Nest is an electronic thermostat that can be used to control your houses temperature, and it works over WiFi and the Internet, the device has become quite popular and it looks like it could become even more popular as according to a recent rumor it may end up been sold in Apple’s retail stores.

Samsung Galaxy S III To Launch In US June 20th

When Samsung officially announced their new flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S III, the company said that it would launch in Europe in May and in the US in June.

The Samsung Galaxy S III will go on sale in the UK tomorrow, the 29th of May, Samsung has yet to officially announce a launch date for the US, but it is starting to look like the handset will land in the US on the 20th of June.

Amazon To Offer Pre-paid Mobile Service In Japan

Amazon has plans to offer a pre-paid mobile service in Japan, the company has teamed up with Japan’s NTT Docomo and will be offering a pre-paid SIM card for 1980 Yen which works out at about $25.

The pre-paid SIM cards from Amazon will be compatible with NTT Docomo’s LTE network, and will offer users a cheaper option than some of the existing smartphone contracts in Japan which normally cost users between $60 and $75 per month.

AndyPad Tablet Gets Android 4.0 ICS Update

Some of our readers will remember the AndyPad, a budget Android 7 inch tablet that launched last year, good news if you own one as the company behind the AndyPad has released an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the device.

As a reminder, the AndyPad features a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, it comes with 8GB of built in storage and a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB of storage, plus WiFi and a 6hr battery.

RIM To Lay Off 2,000 Staff In Restructuring Plan?

RIM doesn’t seem to be able to do anything right at the moment, the company which was at one time one of the worlds most popular smartphone makers has seen its sales decline over the last few years.

Back in 2011, RIM sacked around 10 percent of its global workforce, over 2,000 employees, and now according to a report by All Things D, RIM is considering doing the same thing again.

Facebook Hires Ex Apple Engineers For Facebook Smartphone

We have been hearing rumors that Facebook are working on their own Facebook Phone for quite a while, although Facebook have always denied that they would be releasing any kind of hardware, and instead said that they would be concentrating on mobile software.

According to a recent report by Nick Bilton of the NYT, Facebook have been hiring ex Apple engineers, and has apparently hired more that half a dozen who previously worked on Apple’s iPhone to work on a new Facebook smartphone.

LG Announces 5 Inch Full HD Retina Smartphone Display

LG has announced a new 5 inch smartphone display that comes with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, this means it will be able to handle full HD content in 1080p just like your HDTV.

This new display from LG is an LCD panel with Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching (AH-IPS) and it features a pixel density of 440ppi plus an aspect ratio of 16:9.
