On Monday, Facebook launched its new tool that allowed users to share the fact that they were organ donors. The Facebook tool also allows people that weren’t organ donors to sign up with their state organ donor registry directly from Facebook. I bet there are many people out there who wondered if the Facebook tool was going to make a difference.

Rock Band Mobile Dies May 31

Target to Stop Selling Amazon Kindle?

Amazon's Kindle first hit Target stores in 2010 and by all indications the sales have been very successful. In fact, the Kindle Fire became the retailer's best-selling tablet during Black Friday in 2011. Now according to an internal memo from Target and some info from an unnamed source, Target will stop carrying the Kindle line due to a "conflict of interest".

Flix brings Netflix to the Blackberry PlayBook

Amazon Offering Refurbished Kindle Fire For $140 Today Only

Amazon is offering their Kindle Fire tablet for $139.99 today only, and the price is for a refurbished Kindle Fire tablet, although it does come with a full one  year warranty.

The $139.99 Kindle Fire is only available for today, or until they sell out, there are no details on how many are available although we suspect they will sell out pretty quickly.

Hulu to require cable subscription?

Hulu offers the latest TV shows and other programming and they have 31 million users in the United States. In fact many people use Hulu instead of their cable subscription, allowing them to cancel their cable subscription and save money. Unfortunately that may not be an option for long. It looks like Hulu will become available only to those that have cable or satellite service, according to a new rumor.

Google Rolls Out Gmail Translation To The Masses

Nokia Files Patent Suits Against RIM, HTC And Viewsonic In US And Germany

Nokia has announced that it has filed a range of new patent lawsuits against three companies in Germany and the US, and the filings are against RIM, HTC and Viewsonic.

Nokia has said that the companies are infringing on a number of Nokia’s standard essential patents, and according to Nokia the patents in question are already licensed to over 40 different companies.

Asus Says Padfone Delayed Because Of Snapdragon S4 Shortage

Asus were expected to launch their new Padfone back in April, we recently heard it had been delayed and that it was expected to launch some time in May, and now Asus has said that the delay is due to shortages of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon S4 processor.

RIM Offering Developers $10,000 For BlackBerry 10 Apps

Yesterday RIM announced their new BlackBerry 10 platform, and now it looks like RIM is attempting to attract developers to the platform, with a $10,000 guarantee for apps which meet a certain criteria.

RIM will give the $10,000 guarantee to developers apps which meet a certain criteria, and the apps will be tested for this criteria by a third party, if the app is deemed as high quality then RIM will guarantee that the revenue from the app will be $10,000 in the first year.

Another Samsung Galaxy S III Poses For The Camera

Samsung are expected to officially announced the new Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone at a special event in London tomorrow, May the 3rd, we have already seen quite a few photos of the Galaxy S III in dummy boxes, and now we have another one.

The photo below was obtained by the guys over at Sam Mobile, and it comes with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and has the model number GT-I9300 like the previous version we have seen.

LG Says It Is Not Ditching Windows Phone

The other day we heard a rumor that LG would be ditching Windows Phone and instead the company would be concentrating on Android devices, the news originally came from the Korea Herald.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus Data Bug Fix Update Released

The other day we heard that a number of users of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus has been having problems with data on Sprint’s network, the issue was acknowledged by Sprint and they said that they were working on a fix.

Now Sprint has confirmed that the update is ready, and it will be version IMM76D.L700FD002, as well as a fix for the data problems, the update will also come with a fix for devices not displaying the correct network time after activation and also a Google Wallet update.

Huawei Prism Headed To T-Mobile May 6th

According to the guys over at TMO News, the Huawei Prism is headed to US mobile carrier T-Mobile, and the device will be available from the 6th of May and will be called the T-Mobile Prism 3G.

The T-Mobile Prism 3G comes with a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display and will come with android 2,3 Gingerbread, plus a 3.2 megapixel camera and a 2GB SD card.

Samsung Files Trademark For Galaxy Variant Smartphone

Samsung has been filing quite a few trademarks for new Galaxy branded devices over the last month or so, and now another one had been revealed and it is a trademark for smartphones and mobile telephones.

The latest trademark filing is for the Samsung Galaxy Variant and it was submitted to the USPTO on the 26th of April, the filing relates to the ‘goods and services, and it covers mobile telephones and smartphones.

Skyrim Dawnguard DLC Unveiled For Xbox 360

Well it didn’t take Bethesda long to follow up on files discovered in the Skyrim 1.5.26 patch files, which indicated a new DLC was incoming. Today Bethesda has announced the new Skyrim DLC will be called Dawnguard, and will be arriving sometime this summer for the Xbox 360 and that more information would be made available at the upcoming E3 gaming exhibition.

Instagram Hits 50 Million Users

We recently heard that Instagram was getting closed to 50 million users, and now it looks like the photo sharing application has now passed the 50 million users mark.

According to the guys over at Mashable, Instagram is currently adding over 5 million new users per week, which certainly is impressive, the company hit 40 million users around the 13th of April, and was sat at 30 million users at the start of April.

Nokia 808 PureView Launching This Month

Nokia has announced that the new Nokia 808 PureView smartphone, which features a 41 megapixel camera will go on sale this month, although Nokia did not give a specific launch date.

Nokia has said the the PureView 808 will be available in Russia and India first and will then be rolled out to other countries, although they did not specify which countries will get it an when.

Motorola Loses $86 Million In Quarter One

Motorola Mobility has released its latest financial report for quarter one of 2012, Motorola made a loss of $86 million in quarter one of 2012, this continues on from their loss of $80 million in quarter four of 2011.

Motorola only managed to ship a total of 8.9 million devices for the quarter, which is down for 10.5 million for the last quarter of 2011, of those 8.9 million devices 5.1 million were smartphones.

Android 4.0 ICS Now On 4.9 Percent Of Devices

Google has released its latest Android distribution figures and Android 4.0 Ice cream Sandwich is now on 4.9 percent of devices, this is up from 2.9 percent in April.

Next up is Android Honeycomb which is on 3.3 percent of devices, and then we have Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is now on 64.4 percent of Android devices, this has actually increased from April when Gingerbread was on 63.7 percent of all devices.

Motorola Windows Injunction In Germany Against Xbox 360 And More

Motorola was won an injunction in a German court against Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, their windows 7 operating system, Microsoft’s Internet explorer and Windows Media Player.

The court ruling has yet to be enforced, but the court has decided that the Microsoft products listed have infringed on two of Motorola’s patents which are essential for the H.264 video standard.

Skyrim 1.5.26 Patch Files Reveals Hints Of New DLC With Snow Elves And Crossbows

A BethSoft forum user has discovered some interesting files within the latest Skyrim 1.5.26 patch files, that reveal a number of new things are on their way in a possible DLC to be released by Bethesda. The discovered files include references to a number of new characters and items including Snow Elves, a Snow Elf Prince and Crossbows, together with new vampire feeding animations.

Sony Announces Vaio T Series Ultrabooks

Sony has announced its first ultrabooks, the Sony Vaio T Series which consists of the Vaio T13 and Vaio T11, and both models will come with Intel’s Sandby Bridge Core i3-2367M processors.

Both versions will come with a hybrid drive with 32GB of SSD storage and 320GB of HDD storage, plus a 13.3 inch display with a resolution of 1366x 768 pixels, there are no details as yet on the display resolution on the 11 inch version.

Barnes & Noble Adding NFC Support To Future Nook Devices
