Apple Granted a Patent for a Steering Wheel Mounted Remote Control

I have seen more than a few things over the years that have remote controls mounted to the steering wheel of a car. Honestly, I never liked any of those. I don’t think the steering wheel is a place for accessories to be mounted personally. Apple was granted a new patent this week that covers a steering wheel mounted remote control for the iPod and iPhone.

Sonic 4: Episode II first available for Tegra 3 on mobile, before iOS

Firefox 14 Beta Android Browser Released With New User Interface And Flash Support

Mozilla has this week rolled out a new beta release for its Android Firefox browser. Bringing with it a new user interface which has been designed to reflect the existing Android operating system and its native navigation and user interface.

Together with performance enhancements and the obligatory bug fixes, improving startup and response times within the browser, as well as providing support for third party plug-ins such as Adobe’s Flash player.

HTC Ville C Android Handset Specifications Leaked

It looks like HTC has another Android smartphone in the works, as the guys from Brief Mobile have obtained some specifications on a yet to be announced Android device from HTC, the HTC Ville C.

The HTC Ville C will come with a 4.3 inch qHD touchscreen AMOLED display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, processing will be provided by a dual core 1.7GHz processor.

BBC Sports PlayStation 3 App Announced

Samsung Files Galaxy Mission, Forge And More Trademarks

Samsung’s portfolio of trademarks for its Galaxy range of smartphones has been growing over the last couple of months, and now Samsung has added a bunch of new Trademarks to its Galaxy devices.

The latest Samsung Galaxy trademarks were filed with the USPTO on the 10 of May and they include the Lunge,the Samsung Galaxy Forge, the Galaxy Wield, The Galaxy Mission, Galaxy Rivet and Galaxy Victory.

Apple And China Mobile In Talks Over iPhone

China Mobile is the world’s largest phone company in terms of the amount of subscribers it has, and now China Mobile’s Chairman Xi Guohua has announced at its recent shareholder meeting that the company is in talks with Apple to sell Apple’s iPhone.

Xi did not reveal how far along the discussions were with the two companies, although he did say that he can’t predict if the two companies will come to an agreement this year.

Yesterday HTC announced their latest Android smartphone, the HTC Desire C, and we just got an email from the guys over at Clove to let us know that the SIM free HTC Desire C will be available from next Thursday the 24th of May.

The SIM free version of the HTC Desire C will retail for £189.99 including taxes, and the handset has just gone up for pre-order, it will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Facebook Increases IPO Share Offering Again

Yesterday we heard that Facebook had increased the number of shares that they were making available for their IPO, and again today Facebook has increased the number of shares that will be available to purchase.

Facebook will now be offering an a total of 421 million Class A shares, and that means with the total shares available Facebook could end up raising a massive $16 billion.

iZettle Gears Up For Summer Launch, Starts Testing 3,000 Chip-Card Readers (video)

iZettle Europe’s answer to Jack Dorsey's Square mobile credit card payment system. It is now gearing up to launch this summer and has started shipping 3,000 iZettle chip-card readers to selected businesses and individuals across the UK.

The main difference between the iZettle system and Jack Dorsey's Square system, is that Square, offers a mag-stripe reader, rather down a chip-card reader. The video below shows iZettle in action and how it will provide UK and European businesses with a similar payment service to Square.

2012 iPhone To Feature 4 Inch Display According To WSJ

Apple’s iPhone 4S has a 3.5 inch display, and the previous versions of the handset also featured a similar sized display, we have been hearing rumors for a while that this years new iPhone will come with a larger display with 4 inches been the size that many are reporting.

Now the WSJ is reporting that the new 2012 iPhone will go into production in June, and that it will come with a larger 4 inch display as opposed to the 3.5 inch display on the existing model.

Samsung Offers Galaxy S III Pre-orders A Day Early In The UK

The new Samsung Galaxy S III will go on sale in the UK on the 30th of May, but it looks like some people who have pre-ordered the Galaxy S III will be getting their handset a day earlier on the 29th of May.

Anyone who pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S III from Samsung’s own store at the Westfiled Stratford City shopping center will be able to pick up their new handset from 6pm on the 29th, everyone else will have to wait until the 30th of May.

Samsung Announces Which T-Mobile Devices Will Get Android 4.0 Update

Aaron Sorkin To Write Screenplay For Steve Jobs Biography

We heard last year that Sony Pictures would be making a movie based on the life of Apple’s late CEO Steve Jobs, and Walter Isaacson’s biography, and now Sony has confirmed that the screenplay for the movie will be written by Aaron Sorkin.

Google Documents Receives New Search Research Tool

Google has today launched a new research tool feature which its now added to its Google Docs. The new feature within Google Docs now allows you to carry out searches and research content without the need to leave the document you are currently typing.

The new Research Tool is positioned on the right hand side of your documents and has a search box which you can use to narrow down your search results to specifics, such as images or quotations by using the drop-down menu in the search bar.

Google To Release 5 Nexus Devices With Multiple Manufacturers This Fall

A while back we heard that Porsche were test driving their new 918 Hybrid Spyder, and now Porsche has released some new photos of this hybrid supercar along with some more details.

HTC’s Latest Smartphones US Launch Delayed By US Customs Due To Apple Dispute

Yesterday the guys over at The Verge reported that HTC’s latest Android smartphones, the HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G which were due to be released in the US shortly had been delayed.

Both devices have been delayed by US Customs as they investigate patent issues with Apple, and some shipments of both devices are actually being held by customs at the moment.
