The Sony Xperia U features 3.5 inch Reality Display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, the devices is powered by dual core 1GHz processor, it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread although Sony have promised it will get Android 4.0 ICS.

| Yahoo Sells 20 Percent Alibaba Stake For $7.1 Billion Posted: 21 May 2012 04:41 AM PDT Yahoo has held a forty percent stake in Chinese e-commerce site Alibaba, and now Alibaba has decided to purchase half of Yahoo’s stake back, in a deal worth over $7.1 billion US dollars. In the deal Yahoo will get around $6.3 billion in actual cash and up to $800 million in new Alibaba preferred stock, and Yahoo will still retain around a 20 percent share in Alibaba.

| Microsoft Granted Import Ban On Motorola Devices By ITC Posted: 21 May 2012 02:21 AM PDT It looks like there is some more trouble for Android device manufacturers, whilst HTC has had a number of their devices sitting in US customs over the last week, now it is the turn of Motorola, as the International Trade Commission (ITC) has awarded Microsoft an import ban on Motorola smartphones and tablets. The ITC has found that Motorola’s tablets and smartphones have infringed on certain Microsoft patents, which could mean that Motorola will not be able to import their devices into the US.

| Google Has To Keep Android Open And Free For At Least Five Years Posted: 21 May 2012 01:40 AM PDT Google has apparently come to an agreement with China in the approval of their acquisition of Motorola, according to various reports, in order to gain China’s approval for the deal to go ahead, Google had to agree to keep Android open and free for at least the next five years. The apparent reason behind this requirement from China to approve the Motorola takeover was to ensure that Motorola would not get preferential treatment over Android when compared to other Android handset manufacturers.

| Apple And Samsung CEOs In Talks Over Patent Disputes This Week Posted: 21 May 2012 12:37 AM PDT Apple and Samsung have been battling it out in court over the last year in a number of different countries around the world, one of their many court cases is taking place in San Francisco. The two companies CEOs, Apple’s Tim Cook and Samsung’s Choi Gee-Sung will meet this week in an attempt to resolve one of the patent cases, although they have been instructed to do so by a federal judge in San Francisco.

| HTC Says Latest Smartphones Starting To Clear US Customs Posted: 20 May 2012 11:40 PM PDT HTC’s latest smartphones, the HTC One X and HTC Evo 4G LTE have been held by US customs over the last week which has delayed the launch of both smartphones. The HTC devices had been held by customs after an ITC ruling which said that HTC’s handsets running Android infringed on Apple’s patents, although the devices in question were running a modified version of Android to get round the issue.
