| Apple Wins iPhone 5 Domain Name Dispute Posted: 17 May 2012 06:16 AM PDT Whether or not Apple will call its 2012 iPhone the iPhone 5 remains to be seen, but at least now Apple owns the iPhone5.com domain name if they do decide to use that name for their next smartphone. The iPhone5.com domain name was registered back in 2008, and Apple took a complaint to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and has now won the dispute over the domain name.

| HTC’s US Bound Android Handsets Coming With Custom Android Builds Posted: 17 May 2012 05:33 AM PDT There has been quite a bit of news this week about HTC’s latest smartphones, the HTC One X and the HTC Evo 4G LTE, both devices are apparently being held in US customs whilst they are investigating whether the devices comply with a previous ITC ruling against HTC. Now according to the guys over art The Verge, both of the HTC devices in question are using a custom version of Android, that removes the infringing items, where the ITC ruled that previous HTC devices were infringing on Apple’s patents.

| Sprint Acknowledges HTC Evo 4G LTE Launch Delayed Posted: 17 May 2012 04:22 AM PDT The HTC Evo 4G LTE was due to land on Sprint later this week, but we heard yesterday that some of HTC’s devices which include the new HTC Evo 4G LTE are being held up by US customs. The HTC devices are being held by customs after a recent ITC ruling found that HTC had infringed on Apple’s patents, although the latest devices are expected to launch with a workaround.

| HTC Responds To HTC One X Multitasking Issues Posted: 17 May 2012 04:04 AM PDT A number of owners of the new HTC One X has reported issues with the way that HTC has implemented multitasking on their new HTC One X smartphone, with users reporting that memory management is to aggressive and some applications are being killed in the background. HTC has now apparently responded to the issue, although according to HTC everything is working as intended, which doesn’t really solve the problem.

| Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Gets Rooted Posted: 17 May 2012 03:00 AM PDT The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 only went on sale recently, and now the guys over at the XDA Developers have managed to root the tablet, which means that apps which require root privileges can be installed and opens up installing custom ROMs on the device. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it features a 10.1 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

| Sony Alpha NEX-F3 Gets Official Posted: 17 May 2012 01:10 AM PDT We have already seen some leaked photos of the new Sony Alpha NEX-F3, it is now official and it comes with an APS-C size image sensor with 16.1 effective megapixels. The Sony Alpha NEX-F3 features a 3 inch TFT LCD display with a 921k dot resolution and it can tilt upwards around 180 degrees, it also comes with a built in pop up flash.
