Apple Settles Long-Running Patent Infringement Suit with Simple Air Posted: 25 May 2012 09:08 AM PDT Apple has finally announced that it has settled a long-running patent dispute between it and a company called SimpleAir. SimpleAir filed a patent infringement suit against Apple back in 2009 in the US District Court in the Eastern District of Texas. That suit alleged Apple was infringing on four patents having to do with the transmission of data and alerts for unconnected users. What the company did was offer fake free apps through Google Play, and when a user downloaded the app the received a text, but what the users didn’t realize was they were being charged around £15 for the texts, this didn’t come to light until they got their mobile phone bill. NVIDIA Says 30 Tegra 3 Smartphones Launching In 2012 Posted: 25 May 2012 03:21 AM PDT We have already seen a couple of new smartphones launch with NVIDIA’s new quad core Tegra 3 processor, the HTC One X and the LG Optimus 4X, but it looks like we can expect to see quite a few more before the end of the year. NVIDIA has announced that there will be around 30 Tegra 3 powered smartphones launched before the end of 2012, so that means there is another 28 to come that have yet to be announced. Yesterday we heard that NVIDIA’s Icera Modem had been certified for use with AT&T, what this means is that we can expect a range of LTE smartphones to be launched with NVIDIA’s new Tegra 3 processor.
