Sony Xperia P and Xperia U Hitting the UK in early May Posted: 21 Apr 2012 08:29 AM PDT The Sony Xperia S has already been available in the UK, however its smaller cousins, the Xperia P and Xperia U, have not yet arrived in stores. That will change soon since both devices are now set to become available in the UK during the week of May 7. That means that in just a few weeks you'll have the entire new Xperia line available to choose from in the UK. Nintendo 3DS Update Adds Folders, Quick Patching Posted: 21 Apr 2012 07:57 AM PDT If you have some spare time when not playing Super Mario Bros. or Zelda, you might want to take a moment to update your Nintendo 3DS. In addition to launching a new update, Nintendo also announced the New Super Mario Bros. 2. The new firmware lets users organize folders and more easily add in game expansions and patches. © Geeky Gadgets, 2012. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2012 |
Posted: 21 Apr 2012 07:40 AM PDT As is the case with every console, they arrive expensive and get cheaper as components get cheaper to manufacturer and things are redesigned to money. Then a company can either make more profit on each console sold, or drop the retail price. © Geeky Gadgets, 2012. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2012 |

More People Now Watch TV On Tablets Than Computers Posted: 21 Apr 2012 06:59 AM PDT I don’t know about you, but I barely watch TV on my expensive HDTV anymore. When I do it is mostly Netflix and on my computer. It looks like I am far from the only one, but a recent Viacom study puts me in the minority. Most people now prefer watching TV on a tablet. © Geeky Gadgets, 2012. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2012 |
Sony Patches PS Vita PSN Game Hack, Same Hack Found In Others Posted: 21 Apr 2012 03:43 AM PDT After news that two of its games allowed the PS Vita to run homebrew software, Sony pulled Hot Shots Tennis and Motorstorm Arctic Rift from the PSN store to patch up the Vita firmware to 1.67 . However, the two games were seemingly not the only ones harbouring the vulnerability, as a new video has sprung up of a Vita running the hack post-patch, but using a different game. Animal Crossing Coming To 3DS This Fall Posted: 21 Apr 2012 03:29 AM PDT As if guessing that I was waiting for Ace Attorney vs Professor Layton as well as a 3DS that has that dock thing with the second analog nub built in to jump on the bandwagon, Nintendo have decided to test my resolve. A new Animal Crossing is coming in the Fall, though no firm release date is forthcoming. Valve: EA’s Origin Has Work To Do To Catch Up To Steam Posted: 21 Apr 2012 03:01 AM PDT No one expected EA’s Origin to overtake Steam in a matter of months. Indeed, given Valve’ and EA’s vastly different histories within the industry, not a lot of people wanted it to. And it hasn’t. But although it’s doing a decent job by all accounts, Valve’s Gabe Newell, a man who probably knows more about digital game distribution then most other people on the planet will ever learn, offered a word of warning. DOTA 2 Adding “Twist” To Free To Play Posted: 21 Apr 2012 02:50 AM PDT With free to play taking off the way it has, it won’t be long before developers will have difficulty getting someone to play a game that they are giving away. It’s inconceivable for Valve to ever be in that position, especially with such a high profile property as DOTA 2, but it hasn’t gotten to this point by relying on its brand or IP. Gabe Newell weighs in on the ways in which Valve is ready to change free to play. The Banner Saga Coming to XBLA / PSN, Bringing Player-Owned Cities Posted: 21 Apr 2012 02:37 AM PDT There is a possibility that you might not know about the Banner Saga yet. It’s a certainty that you’re worse off for it if that is the case. The Banner Saga is a Kickstarter-funded turn-based strategy adventure which seems like the reason Kickstarter was invented. How else would a 2D turn-based game about a Viking diaspora relying on a custom built motion-capture animation system been built? Arkham City Harley Quinn DLC Teased Via Twitter Posted: 21 Apr 2012 02:22 AM PDT Rocksteady might have implemented the best hidden Easter egg in video game history via the Warden’s room in Arkham Asylum, only for players to completely fail to unearth it. This time, it’s not taking any chances, tweeting a picture of Harley Quinn complete with giant mallet and a message: “Don’t worry. This is all part of of my plan.” (...) © Geeky Gadgets, 2012. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2012 |
Dead Space Narrative Producer Calls Gears of War Worst Writing In Games Posted: 20 Apr 2012 06:13 PM PDT In what seemed to have started as a crash course in narrative for the interactive medium which took a left turn into full-on Gears of War bashing to finally end up as self-deprecating recrimination, Dead Space narrative producer Chuck Beaver calls the narrative of Epic’s flagship title “literally the worst writing in games.” (...) © Geeky Gadgets, 2012. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2012 |
