Former Intel Worker Pleads Guilty to Document Theft

Way back in 2008 an engineer working at Intel named Swamohan Pani was employed at Intel’s Hudson, Massachusetts facility. The man turned in a notice that he was leaving Intel on May 29th, 2008 and requested June 11, 2008 to be his last day. What Intel didn’t know is that the man had taken a position with AMD and started that position on June 2.

Mass Effect 3 Resurgence Pack Coming Tomorrow

Gears of War: Exile For Kinect Cancelled

If there were still doubts that Microsoft’s Kinect can only function as an ancillary tool at best in mainstream games, this bit of news should put them to rest. Epic’s experimental Gears of War using the motion-control peripheral has been quietly put out to pasture, according to Epic Creative Director Cliff Bleszinsky.

Wii U To Cost $300 At Retail, $180 To Make

Nintendo is the only company that started out the last console generation by making a profit on every unit sold and apparently it aims to keep the same line with the Wii U. Forget the Box reports that the part cost for Nintendo’s tablet toting new flagship console is sitting at around $180, with $50 of that unsurprisingly going just to the controller.

Nike Releases NikeFuel API Beta To Developers

Microsoft Purchases AOL Patents For $1 Billion

Microsoft has just splashed out over a $1 billion to purchase patents from AOL. The deal worth $1.056 billion will be sealed by the end of 2012 and AOL will exchange 300 patents to Microsoft who will be able to use them under a non-exclusive license.

Autodesk Creates A 3D Model Of Its HQ Using An Octo-Copter And 2D Images (video)

Autodesk has this week released a demonstration of how its created a 3D model of its headquarters in San Rafael, California. using 2D images which it took using a Octo-Copter UAV(unmanned aerial vehicle). The technology used within the demonstration shows just how far 3D modelling has tralled since the first 3D rendering applications were introduced.

Epic Working On PC Exclusive

Dark Souls Coming To PC In August

It appears a PC edition of  Dark Souls, From Software’s punishing action RPG will be making its way to retail after all. The aptly named “Prepare to Die Edition” doesn’t seem to make any bones about the game’s legendary difficulty, indeed using it as its main selling point.

Infinity Blade 2 ClashMob Mode Update Arriving April 12th

A new update for the awesome Infinity Blade 2 iOS application is expected to arrive later this week on April 12th. The update will bring with a new “ClashMob” mode allowing player to join forces with thousands of other players to take on huge bosses equipped with huge amounts of HP.

Once installed and after selecting ClashMobs from the main menu navigation, players will be able to browse the currently-running challenges, as well as see the challenges starting soon.

HTC One S Gets Unboxed (Video)

Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 Android Tablet Announced (Video)

Lenovo has added another Android tablet to their range with the launch of the Lenovo IdeaTab S2109, which will comes with the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The IdeaTab S2109 features an 9.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, there are no details on what processor it is using as yet, and the device also comes with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video chat.

Asus Confirms Transformer Prime Tablet To Get GPS Dongles

Last week we heard a rumor that Asus would be offering owners of their Transformer Prime tablet a GPS dongle to fix the GPS issues on the tablet, and now Asus has confirmed to All Things D that they will offer owners of the device a free GPS dongle.

Asus have said that owners of the Transformer Prime tablet will be able to register on their website for the GPS dongle from April the 16th, and it will then take around two weeks for the dongles to be sent out to customers.

Apple Adds Universal Studios Movies to iTunes Cloud

Apple added the ability to re-download movies you had already purchased to multiple iOS devices a while back, although at the time of launch a couple of the movie studios offerings were not available through the service.

It would appear that Apple has now signed a deal with Universal Studios to allow iOS users to re-download previous purchased movies direct to their iOS devices.

Electric DeLorean To Launch In 2013 For $95,000

We first heard about the Electric DeLorean last year, this all electric iconic automobile is scheduled to go on sale next year, and it has recently been shown off at this years New York Auto Show.

Samsung’s Flexible AMOLED Technology To Be Called YOUM

Samsung has already shown us its flexible AMOLED technology which the company intends to put into mass production some time this year, and now the company has decided to call the technology YOUM.

Samsung has filed a trademark for the name YOUM for their flexible display technology, although they haven’t explained what the YOUM stands for, and they have also filed trademarks for a couple of other names which include WAMOLED, FAMOLED, PAMOLED and TAMOLED.

UK Home Office Website Taken Down By Hackers

The UK’s Home Office website was unavailable for a couple of hours over the weekend, and according to a recent report by the BBC, the website was taken down by a distributed denial of service attack.

The Home Office website was offline from around 9pm BST on Saturday until around 5am on Sunday, and it is reported that the hacking group Anonymous is behind the attack.

Sony To Cut 10,000 Jobs

According to a recent report by the Nikkei, Sony will cut around 10,000 jobs from its worldwide workforce in an attempt to turn the company around and start making a profit again.

Over the last four years Sony has made a loss each year, and now the company and its CEO Kazuo Hirai are looking to reduce their 168,200 employees by 10,000, the last time Sony did this was back in 2008 when it cut 16,000 jobs.

Google’s Nexus Tablet Delayed Until July?

We have been hearing rumors for some time that Google are working on their own Android tablet, in a similar way that they have done with their ‘Nexus’ branded smartphones which have been produced by various manufacturers.

Now according to a recent report by The Verge, the Google Nexus Tablet has apparently been delayed until around July of this year, and the reason for the apparent delay is to reduce the price of the tablet.

Samsung Launches Pink Galaxy Note In South Korea

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 To Retail For $399

Last week we heard that Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab 2 tablets were delayed to some time later this month, Samsung has yet to announce any official pricing for both the 7 inch model and the 10.1 inch model.

Now pricing for the 10.1 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 has appeared online, and Office Depot have an 8GB version listed with a price of $399.99, although it isn’t available for purchase as yet.

AT&T Will Now Unlock Your Out Of Contract iPhone

Nokia Lumia 900 Windows Phone Launched In The US

The Nokia Lumia 900 went on sale in the US yesterday with mobile carrier AT&T, and the handset is available for $99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with the carrier.

Yesterday seemed like a strange day to launch the Lumia 900 in the US with it being Easter Sunday, there apparently were not that many AT&T and Microsoft stores open to sell the device.

We recently heard that sales of the Rapsberry PI computer had been out on hold as the device had to go through quality control testing here in the UK, good news as the Raspberry PI Foundation has announced that the testing is now completed.

The Raspberry PIvhas now passed the quality control tests and can go on sale without any hardware modifications, which is great news for those people who are waiting to get their hands on the device.
