11 Arrested in Connection with Stolen Samsung AMOLED Tech

Executives at Samsung can’t be happy today after 11 suspects were arrested in connection with the sale of stolen AMOLED display technology to a rival. What rival allegedly purchased the stolen Samsung technology hasn’t been named. One worker is accused of accepting a payment of $170,000 from a rival firm to leak details.

WaveJet Big Wave Motorised Surfboards (video)

Surfers looking for a slightly different twist on the traditional surfboard, might be interested in the WaveJet a motorised surfboard which has been specifically deigned for big wave riding by Steve Walden. WaveJet surfboards have been designed to assist surfers in paddling out, catching more waves, connecting sections and surfing into big waves without a tow in.

The WaveJet surfboard is fitted with a WaveJet PWP pod, which uses miniaturised water jet drive technology, and pushes the board along at around 8 to 10 knots on still water. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Diablo 3 Demon Hunter Detailed (video)

Blizzard has this week released a new video detailing the Demon Hunter character from their highly anticipated new game Diablo 3. The Demon Hunter within Diablo 3 relies on speed, traps and explosive attacks to punish her demonic enemies, using her speed and agility with an impressive arsenal of weapons. Readerdock Kindle Fire And Nook Color Docks Now Available To Pre-Order

Readerdock has this week announced that its new Readerdock docks for both Kindle Fire and Nook Color, which we first featured back in January are now available to pre-order.

The N-Station has been created specifically for the Nook Color and will be shipping towards the end of this month. Where as the FireStation has been designed for the Kindle Fire and will be shipping around the same time as the N-Station.

Wikipedia iOS And Android Apps Replace Google Maps For OpenStreetMaps

Wikipedia has announced this week that a new update for its iOS and Android application will remove the Google Maps integration the apps both use, and replace it with OpenStreetMaps technology.

As well as adopting the OpenStreetMaps technology the new updates rolled out to both iOS and Android applications brings a wealth of new features and tweaks which brings both app inline with each other.

Flickr Replaces PikNik Photo Editing App With Aviary HTML 5 Editing

In preparation for when Google pulls the plug on its Piknik photo editing service on April 19th. Flickr has now started to replace its Piknik editing application with Aviary.

Aviary is a HTML 5 styled photo editing application which also supports Apple’s iPad tablet, and will be rolling out across Flickr over the next two weeks, so if its not already in your 'Actions' menu yet, check back in a couple days.

HTC One V Gets Uboxed And Benchmarked (Video)

The third member of HTC’s new one family is the HTC One V, and the guys over at Netbook News recently got their hands on this new Android smartphone and put together a video showing the device in action.

The HTC one V is another Android 4.0 Ice Cream sandwich smartphone and the handset comes with a 3.7 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, plus a single core 1GHz processor.

HTC Rezound To Get Android ICS Update Today?

We heard earlier in the week that the HTC Rezound would be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich today, we also heard that the Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx would be getting the update this week.

The update for the RAZR and RAZR Maxx never arrived, and now another internal document from Best Buy has been leaked which confirms that the RAZR update was delayed and the HTC Rezound should be getting the update today, which you can see below.

Pantech Vega Racer 2 Announced In South Korea

Pantech has added another Android smartphone to their range with the launch of the Pantech Vega Racer 2, which according to the company is one of the world’s first smartphone to feature a glass ceramic body.

The Pantech Vega Racer 2 comes with a 4.8 inch HD touchscreen display that features a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and it is powered bu a dual core Krait processor, possibly clocked at 1.5GHz.

Witcher Lands on Mac, And Witcher 2 Comic Arriving On iOS Devices

Google’s Project Glass To Be Renamed Google Eye?

Yesterday we saw a video of Google’s new augmented reality glasses, which Google calls Project Glass, and today we saw a photo of Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin wearing a Project Glass prototype.

Project Glass doesn’t actually sound like the best name for a product, and it would appear that Google may have another name planned for its augmented reality glasses.

SIM Free Motorola RAZR Maxx Goes Up For Pre-order In The UK

Motorola recently announced that they would be launching the RAZR Maxx here in the UK in May, and now the SIM free version of the handset is now available to pre-order in the UK for £430.80 including taxes.

The Motorola RAZR Maxx features a dual core 1.2GHz processor and it features 1GB of RAM, plus a a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display that features a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.

Samsung Says No 3D For Galaxy S III Smartphone

We know Samsung’s new Galaxy S III smartphone is coming soon, and there have been a number of rumors about the device, and now Samsung has confirmed that the device will not come with 3D.

Samsung spoke to Engadget, to quash the rumor that their new flagship smartphone will not come with 3D, and they also said they have no plans for a 3D display in other new devices.

Asus Transformer Prime TF201 Owners To Get GPS Dongle?

The Asus Transfomer Prime TF201 tablet has had a GPS issue that has been reported by many users ever since the tablet was released, Asus released a software update but that didn’t fix the problem for everyone.

Now it would appear that Asus has another solution in the works, according to a leaked email which appeared on the XDA developers, Asus will be giving owners of the device a GPS dongle for free to fix the issue.

Dropbox Web App Now Supports Browser Drag-and-Drop, No IE Support

Dropbox has today released a great new feature for Chrome, Safari and Firefox users. However if you are using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser, unfortunately the new feature will not be available to you.

The update that has rolled out to the Dropbox web based app now brings with it support to drag-and-drop files directly from your desktop straight into Dropbox folders.

HTC Evo 3D 4G LTE Prototype Leaked (Video)

Yesterday HTC announced the new HTC EVO 4G LTE, and along with the launch of the new handset, HTC also release a design video for the Evo 4G LTE, and the guys from The Verge spotted the following photo in the video.

As you can see from the photo the device features dual cameras and and a dual LED flash that were originally featured on the Evo 3D, so it could be possible that they are releasing an LTE version have a look at the video below.

Google’s Sergey Brin Spotted Wearing Project Glass Prototype

Yesterday Google released a teaser video for their augmented reality glasses which the company calls Project Glass, and now Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin has been photographed wearing a project glass prototype.

The photo below was taken by Thomas Hawk, and as you can see it features Robert Scoble, who spoke to Sergey Brin about the glasses and he confirmed that he was wearing a prototype device.

BlackBerry PlayBook 4G Photos Appear Online

We have been hearing for a while that RIM will be releasing a 4G version of their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, and now we have some actual photos of the device which were posted to the CrackBerry forums.

As you can see from the photos below there is a SIM card slot which is located where the HDMI out and charging ports are, and the device is expected to be launched some time this summer.

GSM Galaxy Nexus Owners Suffering Signal Issues After Android 4.0.4 Update

According to a recent thread over at the XDA developers forum, a number of owners of the GSM version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are having some signal issues with their handset after upgrading to Android 4.0.4.

The problem apparently occurs when the display goes to sleep, and the cellular signal seems to disappear, which means that users who are having the problem are unable to receive text messages and phone calls.

Samsung Expect Profit To Double On High Smartphone Sales

Twitter Goes After Spammers With Federal Lawsuit

Any popular platform unfortunately will suffer from spam, Twitter has now decided to address Spam on its network, and has filed a Federal lawsuit in San Francisco against five companies which twitter says are the most aggressive tool providers for spammers.

Twitter has filed the lawsuit in an attempt to have these five tools shut down, and in the process they hope to reduce spam significantly on Twitter, by shutting down the tool providers.

New Google Chromebooks To Use Intel’s Ivy Bridge Processors?

Google’s current range of Chromebooks are based on Intel’s Atom processors, and now it would appear that Google may intend to use Intel’s new Ivy Bridge processors in future models, and they could also use Intel’s current Sandy Bridge processors.
