Foxconn Brazil is now on Steve Jobs Avenue

The city of JundiaĆ­ in southeastern Brazil is the location of one of Foxconn’s manufacturing facilities for Apple products that is outside of China. The day after Apple CEO Steve Jobs passed away, a bill was filed to change the name of the street where the Foxconn facility is to Steve Jobs Avenue.

Raspberry Pi Computer Starts Shipping

The Raspberry Pi Foundation who designed and built the amazing $35 Raspberry Pi Computer. Have today announced that the first shipments of their mini PC have now been certified and shipping out to RS Electronics and element14/Premier Farnell.

Customers waiting to get their hands on one, myself included, should start receiving notifications from RS Electronics and element14/Premier Farnell announcing the very first Raspberry Pi Computers will be shipping over the weekend.

Asus Announces Ultrathin U32U Notebook

Asus has today introduced a new version of its U32U laptop to its range of portable notebooks. The new U32U notebook has bend assigned to be slim and lightweight in construction and is powered by an AMD processor.

The Asus U32U measures just 0.9 inches thick and weighs 3.4 pounds. Its equipped with a 13.3 inch 1366 x 768 pixel display. Powered by a choice of an AMD C-50, AMD C-60, or AMD E-450 processors.

Microsoft Investing $3.5 Billion In RIM?

To say the RIM is having a troubled time at the moment would be an understatement. In the last couple of years RIM has seen its market share dwindle from a 44 percent  in 2009 to less than 17 percent by the end of 2011. During which time RIM’s stock value has plunged a massive 75 percent. Now rumours are suggesting that Microsoft might be considering investing in RIM to the tune of around $3.5 billion.

Diablo III Monk Character Detailed (video)

Over the last week Blizzard have started releasing videos detailing the characters that will be available in their new Diablo III game. When it launches on May 15th 2012, after a few delays along the way.

Blizzard has already introduced us to the Demon Hunter and Barbarian classes, and now its the turn of the Monk. The Diablo III Monk character is a blend of the Assassin, Paladin and Barbarian from Diablo 2 game, and can be viewed in action in the video after the jump.

Whitespace Remover Plugin For Google Plus

This week Google launched a new design layout for their Google+ social network. Bringing with some new navigation icons and lots of new features. But one of the downsides of the new Google+ design layout is the amount of white space that Google has added, particularly when viewed on larger wide screens. But don’t fret, if you find the white space a little too much to handle, there is now an option for users of Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Valve Advertising For Specialist Electronics Engineer, Possible Steambox Development Position?

Even though Valve firmly denied the company was currently developing or had plans to develop a hardware device along the lines of a Steambox, to run its Steam gaming network on. Valve has this week been busy advertising a new job position and is currently looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer.

Details of the new Electronics Engineer position reveal that it will involve "work with the hardware team to conceive, design, evaluate, and produce new types of input, output, and platform hardware,".

Nokia Belle FP1 Incoming To 701, 700, And 603 Smartphones

Nokia has today started rolling out a new firmware update bringing the Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 to Nokia 701, Nokia 700 and Nokia 603 phones. The new update has been released over-the-air (OTA) and includes new features including homescreen widgets, improvements to the notification bar, an updated version of the browser (8.2), an improved multi-tasking view, Dolby Digital Plus functionality, and increases the speed of the processor from 1.0 to 1.3GHz.

Apple Bid Fails To Restore Push Mail To German iCloud Users

Unfortunately for German iCloud users Apple has failed in its bid to try and reinstate its Push Mail service to its iCloud platform. After the Mannheim regional court agreed with an earlier court decision, restricting Apple from delivering the service following a patent lawsuit from Motorola Mobility.

On February 24th Apple was forced to suspend its Push email service via its iCloud in German after Motorola Mobility successfully won an injunction against Apple.

Xbox 720 To Be Equipped With 16 Core CPU?

Even though Microsoft has no plans to reveal there next generation Xbox gaming console at E3 later this year, its not stopped the rumour mills providing theories on what the new gaming console from Microsoft will include.

Today Xbox World have reported that Durango developer kits were sent out last month by Microsoft, and even though they don’t resemble the finished product in design and appearance. The inner workings of the developer kits is still representative of the next generation Xbox 720 console.

Medal of Honor Warfighter Gameplay Trailer Released (video)

EA has released a new gameplay trailer/teaser for their upcoming Medal of Honor Warfighter game currently in development by Danger Close Games. The new Warfighter game is a direct sequel to the last Medal of Honor game launched in 2010, and will be the 14th Medal of Honor instalment in the series. Medal of Honor Warfighter will use DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine the same one used in Battlefield 3.

Boeing Developing Secure Android Smartphone For The Military

Boeing has announced that it is working on an ultra secure smartphone for the military and defense sectors, and the device is being built with Google’s Android mobile platform and the first devices are expected to be available by the end of the year.

Normally ultra secure smartphones command a hefty price tag with encrypted device retailing between $15,000 and $20,000 per handset, and Boeing is looking to reduce the cost of these secure smartphones significantly.

AT&T Says Nokia Lumia 900 Sales Exceeding Expectations

Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 900 landed in the US recently, and the device is expected to go on sale in Europe shortly, the US version is available exclusively through mobile carrier AT&T.

Canon EOS-1D X DSLR Delayed Until June

Canon has expected to start shipping their EOS-1D X DSLR at the end of March or the start of April, and now the company has announced that their new flagship DSLR is now delayed until June.

The Canon EOS-1D X features a full frame 18 megapixel CMOS sensor and it also comes with a new DIGIC 5+ image processor and an ISO range of 51,200 which can expand to 204,800.

Google Focused On Lower End Android Tablet Market

We have been hearing rumors for a while that Google ate working on their own Android tablet, which is expected to be called the Google Nexus Tablet, we have also heard that the device is expected to be priced similar to Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet.

Kaspersky Lab Recalled Flashback Removal Tool After Causing Worse Issues For Mac Users

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Starts Shipping

Toshiba WT200 Windows 7 Tablet Arrives At The FCC

Toshiba’s WT200 tablet has been available in Japan and Canada for sometime. But it nows looks set to be released in the U.S. after a listing for the Toshiba WT200 tablet was spotted on the FCC website. Joining the new Excite range of tablets Toshiba is looking to launch in the U.S. next month.

LG Viper Lands On Sprint April 22nd

Yesterday we heard that the LG Viper had gone up for pre-order with mobile carrier Sprint in the US, and now it looks like the device will be available on Sprint from the 22nd of April.

The LG Viper will be available for $99.99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with the carrier, and the devices comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and features a 4 inch touchscreen displays with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Sony’s SmartWatch Launched

Sony unveiled their new Android powered SmartWatch back at CES in January, and the device has now launched and it will retail for $150, it is designed to connect to your Android smartphone.

SIM Free Nokia Lumia 900 Lands In The UK May 16th

The Nokia Lumia launched in the US last weekend, and now it looks like we have a launch date for the SIM free version here in the UK, according to the guys over at Clove they will be offering the SIM free Lumia 900 in the UK from the 16th of May.

The SIM free Nokia Lumia 900 will be available for £460.80 including taxes, and the device has already gone up for pre-order at a number of retailers in both SIM free and monthly contract options.

Nook Simple Touch With GlowLight Introduced By Barnes And Noble

Barnes & Noble has launched a new addition to their range this week, announcing the arrival of their new Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. A new variation on their Nook Simple Touch e-reader, that is now equipped with 8 LEDs embedded into the reader’s top bezel edge, providing users with the ability to read their Nook Simple Touch in the dark.

Apart from the added GlowLight LEDs little else has been changed with regards the e-readers specifications. Both illuminated and non-illuminated versions of the Nook Simple Touch are fitted with a 6 inch e-ink display, 802.11n Wi-Fi, 2GB of internal storage and a SD card slot for expanding storage when needed.

Barnes & Noble explain that the new Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight will last around a month on a charge with wireless turned off, being used for around 30 minutes of reading a day with the GlowLight switched on, or 2 months without using the GlowLight.

The Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight is expected to starter shipping in May and will be available to purchase for around $140.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Delayed?

Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 10.1 back in February at MWC and we were expecting their new tablet to launch soon, but according to the guys over at The Verge the launch of the tablet may be delayed.

The reason for the delay is that Samsung are looking at changing the specifications of the device, and it may end up getting a more powerful processor, possibly a quad core version.

Vodafone Samsung Galaxy S II Update Coming Today Via KIES, OTA Next Week

We heard earlier in the week from Vodafone UK that they would be releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy S II, and now Vodafone has announced that the update will be available today via Samsung’s Kies software.

Vodafone has also said that the update will be available as an over the air update, although this wont start rolling out until next week on Tuesday the 17th of March.
