Vudu Plans to Expand Outside the US According to Source

Rumored Tim Cook Meeting at Valve Never Happened

Over the last week or so there’ve been a lot of rumors floating around that Apple CEO Tim Cook was spied at Valve headquarters. Google Enables Google+ SMS Posting Support In 41 Extra Countries

Today Google has rolled out a new update to its Google+ social network which brings with its support for an additional 41 countries to now be able to update their Google+ streams via SMS messages from their mobile phones.

Skyrim Kinect Xbox 360 Support Detailed (video)

Bethesda have this week released a new video detailing a few of the Kinect moves you can expect once its rolled out to Xbox 360 consoles equipped with Kinect motion controllers.

The new Skyrim Kinect update will be available for free, and is expected to arrive later this month. As we mentioned in a previous article the Skyrim Kinect integration will come with over 200 voice commands, including the Skyrims dragon shouts.  Allowing you to truly engage into the Skyrim world and gameplay using your Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect device. Chromium OS Builds For New Raspberry Pi Computer

This week Chromium OS tweaker Hexxeh has announced plans to develop and release builds of Chromium OS Vanilla for the new $35 Raspberry Pi computer very soon. The new Chromium OS will be able to be loaded onto an SD card, inserted into the new Raspberry Pi computer (when you can get your hands on one) and boot directly into the Google Chromium operating system.

Barobo Mobot Modular Robot (video)

A new modular robot called the Barobo Mobot has been created to help teach middle school and high school students about science, technology, and engineering. The new Barobo Mobot has been designed to be cheap, and consists of modules that can attached to each other and accessories to form new and exciting robotic configurations. Each section measures around 3 x 3 x 7.43 inches with six mounting surfaces. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Verizon Plans To Push Windows Phone Smartphones

It looks like Verizon Wireless has some plans to increase the number of Windows Phone smartphones available on their network in the US, as the company has said that it intends to push Windows Phone devices in the same way it did with Google’s Android devices.

According to Fran Shammo, who is Verizon’s CFO, Verizon are supportive of Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, and they have plans to introduce new Windows Phone devices on Verizon.

Apple And Proview Discussing iPad Name Settlement

Proview has been suing Apple in China for the use of the ‘iPad’ trademark, which the company previously held the rights to, and they then apparently sold the trademark to Apple, although Proview claims that the sale did not include the use of the iPad name in China.

Now according to a recent report Apple and Proview have entered in to talks in an attempt to come to an agreement on the use of the iPad name in China, and this has been confirmed by Proview’s lawyers.

Quake 4 Arrives On Mac OS X

In standard Mac system gaming style, and just seven or so years after arriving on PC systems, Quake 4 has now arrived on Apple Mac machines. Quake 4 is the fourth title in the series of the Quake first-person shooter games, and was developed by Raven Software, id Software and published by Activision back in 2005, and is now available to purchase from the Apple Mac store for $19.99.

Sony And BioWare Working On PS3 Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Solution

BlackBerry Curve 9220 Announced In India

RIM has added another new smartphone to their range with the launch of the BlackBerry Curve 9220 in India, the device comes with a 2.44 inch QVGA display an a QWERTY keyboard.

Other specifications on the BlackBerry Curve 9220 include a 2 megapixel; camera, a microSD card slot, a 1,450 mAh battery, WiFi and Edge, plus 512MB of RAM.

Notch Releases 0x10c Teaser Trailer (video)

Creator of the popular Minecraft game Markus “Notch” Persson has today released a new trailer for his next upcoming project currently in development by Mojang, the new space game 0x10c. The new 0x10c game is currently in its pre-alpha stage of development, and not much has been seen regards how the new 0x10c game will play out. However the new trailer does explain the idea behind the games storyline.

Raspberry PI Hits 350,000 Orders

The Raspberry PI has been very popular with the pre-orders of the device selling out almost instantly and the device has only recently started to be shipped out to customers, and now we get some actual numbers on how many of these tiny $35 computers have been sold.

According to the two companies who are handling sales of the device in behalf of the Raspberry PI foundation, they have received a total of 350,000 orders for the Raspberry PI to date.

Snapseed iPad App 1.4 Updated Adds Instagram and Retina Display Support

Apple’s iPhone Makes Up Half Of Verizon’s Smartphone Sales For Quarter One

Verizon has released its latest smartphone sales data, and apple’s iPhone accounted for more than half of its total smartphones sales for quarter one of 2012, with Verizon activating more than 3.2 million iPhones for the quarter.

This number is down from 4.3 million activations for their previous quarter, although the iPhone 4S was actually launched in the previous quarter, which would explain the higher numbers over this quarter.

Nokia Releases New 808 PureView Promo (Video)

We have already seen a couple of videos of the new Nokia 808 PureView smartphone in action and now Nokia has released a new promo video for their 808 PureView smartphone which you can see below.

As a reminder the Nokia 808 PureView runs Symbian Belle as its OS and features a 41 megapixel camera and a 4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels.

Amazon Kindle Touch Lands In The UK This Weekend

Amazon’s Kindle Touch has been available in the US for a while, and the device was scheduled to go on sale here in the UK on the 27th of April, good news if you have been waiting to get your hands one one as Amazon have decided to sell the Kindle Touch a little earlier than they had originally planned.

The Amazon Kindle Touch will be available in the UK from tomorrow the 21st of April, and the WiFi version will be available for £109 and the WiFi and 3G version will be available for £169.

Samsung Files Three New Galaxy Trademarks

Samsung has filed for quite a few different trademarks relating to their Galaxy range if smartphones and tablets, and now the guys from Fusible have discovered three more new Galaxy trademark filings from Samsung.

The latest Galaxy trademark filings were recorded on the 13th of April, and there were filed for mobile telephones, smartphones and also goods and services, which would suggest that these three new devices will be smartphones.

Samsung’s S-Cloud To Take On Apple’s iCloud?

There have been rumors for a while that Samsung is working on their own cloud based service for their smartphones and tablets, and now according to a recent report the service will be called S-Cloud.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus Pre-orders Sold Out

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus went up for pre-order on US mobile carrier Sprint a couple of days ago, and it looks like the handset will end up being popular with Sprint users as pre-orders of the device have actually sold out.

Samsung GT-i9300 Dummy Box Reveals New Galaxy S III ?

We have been hearing rumors that Samsung are testing out their new Galaxy S III smartphone with a range of mobile carriers, and the Galaxy S III which is being tested by the carriers is said to be housed in dummy cases to hide the actual design of the device.

Now a photo has been posted online from the guys over at Tinhte, who have revealed a number of new devices in the past which shows a Samsung device with the model number GT-i9300.

Crysis 3 Short Teaser Trailer Released (video)

The third instalment in the Crysis series, which is currently under development by Crytek, and will be published by Electronic Arts, has today received its first short teaser trailer, and I mean short.

Samsung Lists 8 More Patents In Case Against Apple In California

Samsung and Apple are engaged in a number of different lawsuits with each company accusing the other of infringing on their patents, and now Samsung has asserted eight additional patents against Apple.

Two of the patents are part of FRAND, and five of the patents were originally granted to Samsung whilst three of them were purchased from their previous owners.

Google Gmail Meter Unveiled To Analyse Your Gmail Inbox (video)

As if you didn’t already know you were receiving way too much email, Google has this week launched a new Gmail Stats app for Gmail which allows you to view your email messages and replies in more details.

The Gmail Meter is an Apps Script which runs on the first day of every month and sends you an email containing different statistics about your Inbox, such as volume, daily traffic and traffic patterns to name a few.

Nokia Lumia 610 Lands In Asia

Nokia has announced that they have started rolling out their budget Windows Phone smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 610 in Asia, with the device launching in the Philippines in the last week of April and then China, Hong Kong, Indonesia,Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam over the next few weeks.

As a reminder, the Nokia Lumia 610 features  a 3.7 inch WVGA capacitive LCD touchscreen display which has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it also comes with a a single core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage.

White LG Optimus 4X HD Poses For The Camera

The LG Optimus 4X HD was announced back in February, and the handset is due to go on sale within the next couple of months in the UK, Europe and US, and now the guys over at ePrice have managed to get their hands on a white version of the smartphone.
