| Farm Tech: German Made Super Hard Plowshares To Revolutionize Agriculture Posted: 27 Jul 2011 09:13 AM PDT Scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute are testing a carbon coating that would harden modern plowshares. Seems trivial, but with world food supplies just a few years away from crisis and arable land becoming scarce, such small innovations are necessary. The carbon coating that’s supposed to improve efficiency is called DLC or Diamond Like Caron. That’s because it’s so hard, it cuts through the soil with less resistance than a traditional plow.

The DPF-HD1000, DPF-HD800 frames support HD video play back with videos including MPEG4, MPEG1, and Motion JPEG videos captured on digital cameras. Both frames have an internal 2GB memory and the HD800 has an 8 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 and the HD1000 has a resolution of 1026 x 600 with a 10.1-inch screen. | iPod Touch 3G Leaked On Apple Website Posted: 27 Jul 2011 04:05 AM PDT We have been hearing rumors that Apple would launch an iPod Touch with a 3G data connection over the last couple of weeks, some evidence was recently found in the latest version of Apple’s iOS 5 and now it would appear that Apple may have outed it on their website. As you can see on the photo below, the iPod Touch shows a 3G connection, and this photo appeared on Apple’s website recently, it has now been removed, but we just checked the UK Apple site and the image can still be found here.

The new feature uses the Kinect motion controller to enable Avatar Kinect to track the movements of a person’s head, their mouth, and their eyebrows. Which are then used to create a digital version of the users movements which can then be used to interact with other friends on the Xbox live service. | HTC Develops Work Around On Apple Patent Issues Posted: 27 Jul 2011 02:49 AM PDT The case between Apple and HTC is continuing, the ITC recently ruled that HTC had infringed on two of Apple’s patents, of course this ruling was by one judge and the ruling still has to be heard by a panel of six judges who could rule either way. We recently heard that HTC was looking at alternatives to get around the issues of the two Apple patent infringements, and now it would appear that the company has developed a work around for at least one of the patents in question and are looking into developing an alternative for the other patent.

Krix was asked by Bioware to create the N7 Assault Rifle as a prop for the company to promote their new Mass Effect 3 game at the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2011. In the new Mass Effect 3 game the N7 assault rifle will have the same style as the N7 pistol, shotgun, sniper rifle and SMG and has only just come to light as an included weapon within Mass Effect 3. | Facebook Launches Facebook For Business Posted: 27 Jul 2011 02:01 AM PDT Google’s new social network Google+ has come under a fair bit of criticism over the last week on the way it has dealt with businesses that wanted to use Google+, basically a number of businesses were allowed to set up business accounts on Google+, but this wasn’t available for everyone, and the service is still not available for people who want to setup a business account on Google+. Many large websites, who we wont name setup these accounts anyway, and some have had their accounts closed down, whilst other have been able to keep their accounts by switching them to a persons name, his has caused quite a bit of controversy, and now it looks like Facebook has decided to capitalize on Google’s mistakes with the launch of Facebook for Business.

| Nintendo 64 Console Transformed Into A Portable Handheld N64 Posted: 27 Jul 2011 01:58 AM PDT If you are a fan of the Nintendo N64 and have one sitting gathering dust in the attic, you might like to dig it out and transform it into a portable handheld version. Just like the one pictured below and created by an unknown user on the Acid Cow website. The unknown creator of this gaming masterpiece, painstakingly dismantled their Nintendo 64 and combined it with three battery packs and an LCD screen. Then created a case for the device by cutting up and glueing together the different parts of the N64 case and controller to create the new handheld. The Sony Walkman S series will feature a 3.4 inch OLED touchscreen display, and will come with 16GB of built in storage, plus an FM radio, and the ability to stream music wirelessly and also share files.

| Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T Windows Phone 7 Mango Smartphone Announced Posted: 27 Jul 2011 01:17 AM PDT Earlier we heard that Microsoft had released Windows Phone 7 Mango to manufacturing, and now we have the first Windows Phone 7 mango handset to be announced, the Fujitsi Toshiba IS12T Windows Phone 7 handset which is headed for KDDI in Japan. The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T will hit KDDI in Japan in September, and it is the first smartphone to be announced with Windows Phone 7 Mango, it comes with a 3.7 inch touchscreen display with an 800 x 480 resolution, and it features a Qualcomm MSM8655 processor.

| Samsung Galaxy S II QWERTY Slider For AT&T Leaked Posted: 27 Jul 2011 12:41 AM PDT Yesterday we showed you a photo of an unannounced Samsung QWERTY Slider smartphone that is headed to AT&T, the image came from the guys over at the BGR, and they have now managed to get their hands on some actual photos of the device and have confirmed that this new smartphone is based on the Samsung Galaxy S II. This new Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone has the model number of SGH-I927, and the hardware is similar to the original Galaxy S II, but Samsung has added in a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

| Apple Working On Ultra Thin 15 Inch MacBook Posted: 27 Jul 2011 12:05 AM PDT Apple recently announced the 2011 MacBook Air, and now its seems that Apple may have another ultra thin MacBook in the works which will come with a 15 inch display. The news comes from Mac Rumors, and apparently the new ultra thin 15 inch MacBook is in the late stages of testing, although it isn’t clear whether it will be called the MacBook Air or if it is designed to be a replacement for the MacBook Pro.

| Samsung Sells 5 Million Galaxy S II Smartphones In Under 3 Months Posted: 26 Jul 2011 11:44 PM PDT The Samsung Galaxy S II has been a huge success for Samsung, their latest flagship smartphone has yet to go on sale in the US, and it is expected to become available with a number of US carriers next month. Recently we heard that Samsung had sold over 3 million Galaxy S II smartphones, this took the company just 55 days and now they have announced that they have sold over 5 million Galaxy S II handsets in just 85 days.
