My tastes lean more towards those big nitro powered RC cars that can go 80mph than small battery powered cars though. However, when the RC car looks like the Nissan GTR and uses an Android phone for controls I am interested. This car is on KickStarter and is called the BlueDrone. | OS X Lion Install And Hands On Posted: 20 Jul 2011 07:38 AM PDT Today OS X Lion has finally arrived and I thought I would share my first impressions with you on the final release version. So without wasting any time I download the final release version from the Mac App Store and installed in on my iMac. The file download size is 3.74GB and once downloaded popped up a window asking to install. After a quick restart the new install started counting down from around 30 minutes but took a lot less on my iMac, but the install time will depend on the machine its being installed on.The installation process was extremely straight forward with no problems or glitches of any kind. With regards the look of the new Os X Lion, even though there have been a few tweaks to the overall style of Lion OS X in certain places such as menus, applications and the like, the overall feel is very similar to OS X Snow Leopard. One thing that is noticeable within OS X Lion is the speed at which commands are process when compared to the older OS X Snow Leopard.

| Samsung Galaxy S II Hits The US In August Posted: 20 Jul 2011 07:02 AM PDT Samsung has had huge success with the new Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone in Europe and other countries, Samsung has already sold more than 3 million S II handsets, unfortunately for our friends over in the US, Samsung still hasn’t released the Galaxy in the US as yet. Now it looks like we may have a firm launch date for the US Samsung Galaxy S II, and according to the president of Samsung mobile, Shin Jong-Kyun, the Galaxy S II will finally land in the US in August, although he didn’t give an exact date.

| Apple Kills Off The Original MacBook Posted: 20 Jul 2011 06:39 AM PDT When Apple announced its new range of devices today, which included the new MacBook Air, Mac Mini and Apple Thunderbolt Display, the original MacBook had disappeared from the Apple Store online. We just spoke to Apple and they have confirmed that the original MacBook has been discontinued, which means that the MacBook Air is now Apple’s entry level MacBook and the cheapest model available.

| Apple Thunderbolt Display Announced Posted: 20 Jul 2011 06:08 AM PDT As well as releasing OS X Lion, the new 2011 MacBook Air, and the new Mac Mini, Apple has also updated their LCD cinema display, and just like the leaked one we saw recently it comes with Intel’s Thunderbolt technology and is now called the Apple Thunderbolt Display. The Apple Thunderbolt display features a 27 inch LED backlit screen with a resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels, and it also features IPS technology which gives the Thunderbolt display a viewing angle of 178 degrees. | 2011 MacBook Air Announced, Full Specifications Posted: 20 Jul 2011 05:56 AM PDT Apple has finally announced the new 2011 MacBook Air, and they will come with the latest version of Apple’s OS, OS X Lion, as with the previous versions there is an 11 inch MacBook Air and a 13 inch MacBook Air. Both models now feature Intel’s Thunderbolt technology, and the 11 inch model comes with a choice of either a 1GHz dual core Intel Core i5 processor or a 1.8GHz dual core Intel Core i7 processor, Apple has also added a backlit keyboard for all models of the MacBook Air.

| Chevron Windows Phone 7 Unlock Service To Cost $9 Posted: 20 Jul 2011 05:31 AM PDT Back in June we reported that the guys behind the Chevron WP7 unlock tool would be charging a fee to unlock your Windows Phone 7 device, and now it looks like it will cost about $9 to have your WP7 device unlocked. The Chevron WP7 team first started out by releasing the tool for free, and then decided to work with Microsoft to release an official unlocking tool, so no doubt they will be paying Microsoft a fee for each device they unlock.

| Apple Store Goes Down, 2011 MacBook Air’s Coming Today With OS X Lion? Posted: 20 Jul 2011 03:21 AM PDT The Apple Store has just gone offline so we can expect OS X Lion to be available as soon as the Apple Store comes back online, although we suspect Apple will also launch new hardware today as well as Lion. We have been hearing rumors that the new 2011 MacBook Air’s would launch soon, so we suspect they will be announced today at the same time as Lion goes on sale from the mac App Store.

| MacBook Air Gets Chromium OS Port Posted: 20 Jul 2011 03:10 AM PDT Chrome OS hacker Hexxeh has released a port of Google’s Chrome OS for the MacBook Air, Chromium is the open source version of Google’s Chrome OS, and Hexxeh managed to get it running on his MacBook Air. According to Hexxeh the MacBook Air takes around 22 seconds to boot into Google’s Chrome OS, and it had to be installed direct onto the MacBook Air’s SSD, and he can now dual boot with OS X and Google’s Chrome OS.

| Apple Hints That iPhone 5 Will Launch In September With iOS 5 Posted: 20 Jul 2011 01:50 AM PDT We have been hearing rumors that Apple would launch the iPhone 5 in September at the same time as iOS 5, and now it looks like Apple has all but confirmed that the iPhone 5 will hit in September. During yesterdays quarterly earnings call Apple's Chief Financial Officer, Peter Oppenheimer, said that Apple would undergo a ‘future product transition’ during September that would effect the sales estimate for the quarter.

| 2011 MacBook Air Specifications Leaked Posted: 20 Jul 2011 01:42 AM PDT Apple will launch OS X Lion later today and it will be available from the Mac App Store, this means that the new MacBook Air’s which we have been hearing about over the last few weeks should also launch soon. Now it would appear that the specifications on the new 2011 MacBook Air’s have been leaked and we already knew that the new Air’s would feature Intel’s Thunderbolt technology, and it looks like they will also come with the option of Intel’s Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

| Fake Apple Store In China Looks Like The Real Apple Store Posted: 20 Jul 2011 12:40 AM PDT China is well know for producing a wide range of fake Apple products, and now it seems that the country has a couple of fake Apple stores, which were spotted by bird abroad, who lives in Kunming China. As you will see from the photos below, the displays, signs and everything in the store would give you the impression that this is a real Apple store, even down to the Apple logo t-shirts worn by the employees who actually think they are working for Apple.

| OS X Lion Hits The Mac App Store Today Posted: 20 Jul 2011 12:31 AM PDT As well as announcing record sales of the iPhone and iPad during their quarter earnings call Apple also announced that OS X Lion would be available from the Mac App Store from today, Wednesday the 20th of July. Apple has also released a software update to get your Mac ready for OS X Lion, and the update is designed to address an issue with the Migration assistant from Snow Leopard to OS X Lion.

| Apple Announces Record iPhone And iPad Sales Posted: 19 Jul 2011 11:38 PM PDT During its quarter earnings call yesterday Apple released the sales figures for both the iPhone and the iPad for the quarter, and the company has once again had record sales of both products. Apple announced sales of 20.34 million iPhone’s for the quarter, and increase of 142 percent for the same quarter in 2010, they also announced sales of 9.25 million iPad’s for the quarter, and increase of 183 percent over the same quarter in 2010.
