| Acer Unveils Two New Pico Projectors C110 And C112 Posted: 11 Jul 2011 08:24 AM PDT Acer has today released information and specifications for two new pico projectors it will soon be launching into the UK market, the Acer C110 (bottom) and C112 (top). The Acer C110 pico-projector needs just a single USB cable to be used, removing the need to carry any power supply or adapter, it also weighs just 175 g and measures 110 x 85 x 25mm in size. The C110 is capable of projecting a display size from 30cm to 254cm with a WVGA 854×480 resolution and native 16:9 format together with a 1000:1 contrast ratio combining DLP technology with LED lamp technology. The Automobili Lamborghini VX7 laptop features a 15.6 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and comes with two 750GB hard drives, there is also USB 3.0.

| Apple Files Another ITC Complaint Against HTC Posted: 11 Jul 2011 07:28 AM PDT Apple has filed another complaint against rival smartphone maker HTC with the International Trade Commission (ITC), the latest filing was made on the 8th of July, the first one was filed back in March 2010. The original ITC filing was relating to 10 different patents, and the details of the latest filing haven’t been made available yet, but as Foss Patents point out it could be the same 5 patents which Apple just filed an ITC complaint against Samsung for.

As expected from Apple its not going to just allow you to slide or bump devices together to transfer photos or data but is looking at something more funkier. As you can see from the image below the Patent covers a method of data transfer that uses the accelerometer and a pouring motion to tip images into one device from another as if under the influence of gravity. | HTC Desire Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Coming By End Of July Posted: 11 Jul 2011 06:42 AM PDT The last thing we heard about the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC Desire was that HTC was testing it out, and they were running ‘quality assurance’ testing on it to make sure it worked with the Desire. HTC has now announced that everything went OK with the testing and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update will be delivered to the Desire by the end of July.

| Fujitsu Unveils Next Generation Colour E-Paper (video) Posted: 11 Jul 2011 04:38 AM PDT Fujitsu has this week unveiled is new next generation cholesteric LCD colour E-Paper and demonstrated its capabilities in Tokyo at the International Digital Publishing Expo. Fujitsu latest FLEPia colour device is still under development and still has a few areas that need to be worked out before a solid commercial solution can be released using the next generation technology. | Samsung Hercules Coming To T-Mobile In September Posted: 11 Jul 2011 04:00 AM PDT The last thing we heard about the Samsung Hercules was back in May, and now it looks like the Hercules will be headed to T-Mobile in September according to a recent report, and it is basically T-Mobile’s version of the Samsung Galaxy S II. According to the guys over at TMO, the Samsung Hercules will feature a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, it will also come with Android 2.3 and will have NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities.

| Volume Speaker By Hironao Tsuboi Posted: 11 Jul 2011 03:36 AM PDT The Volume Speaker is the work of designer Horonao Tsuboi, and it is a portable speaker which is designed to look like the volume control on your HiFi System, the speaker is made from aluminum and it measures 55mm by 37mm. The Volume Speaker doesn’t feature any buttons is is turned on and off by twisting the dial at the top, which is also used to adjust the volume, have a look at the photos below.

| HDMI to Mini DisplayPort Cables Deemed Illegal And Needed To Be Recalled Posted: 11 Jul 2011 03:34 AM PDT This week the HDMI Org has issued a blow to manufacturers of Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables saying that the product is unlicensed and should not be sold, requesting the cables be recalled and manufacturing stopped. The Mini DisplayPort is extensively used by Apple throughout its range of systems, together with Toshiba and a few other manufacturers. In an interview with the Tech Radar website the HDMI Org explained the reason behind their decision and why the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables are illegal, saying that the HDMI specification defines an HDMI cable as having only HDMI connectors on either end. | Windows Phone 7 Mango Ported To HTC HD2 (Video) Posted: 11 Jul 2011 03:07 AM PDT Back in January we saw the HTC HD2, which was a Windows Phone 6.5 device running Windows Phone 7, and now the guys over at the XDA Developers have ported the latest version of Windows Phone onto the HTC HD2, Windows Phone 7 Mango. You can see Windows Phone 7 Mango running on the HTC HD2 in the video below, and although Microsoft has no plans to release Windows Phone 7 Mango for the HTC HD2, it seems that Microsoft are amused at the developers creativity.

| Concrete Speakers And Coffee Makers Posted: 11 Jul 2011 02:58 AM PDT Israeli designer Shmuel Linski has created a pair of hefty speakers constructed from concrete, which weigh in at 123 lbs a pair. The speakers are not the first designs Linski has created from concrete and before putting his designs skills to audio equipment created a coffee maker and a canoe from the material. The speakers don’t provide sound in the same way a traditional speaker would, as they don’t resonate sound from the material itself, but use a 38 inch pipe inside the speaker to feed the sound from the top and around the cone. According to the guys over at Samsung Hub, the update is a beta built of the Android 2.3.4 update for the Galaxy S II, and there are a choice of custom ROMs based on the latest Android OS available.

The HP Pre 3 recently went on sale in Europe, and now according to the guys over at This is My Next, it looks like Sprint has decided not to carry the HP Pre 3, and they also haven’t decided to carry any other future HP smartphone devices.

| LG Optimus White Android Smartphone Launched Posted: 11 Jul 2011 01:59 AM PDT LG has launched a white version of the LG Optimus Black, and obviously they can’t call it the Optimus Black, so they have come up with the name of the Optimus White. The LG Optimus White has gone on sale in the Netherlands and it features the exact same specifications as the Optimus Black, apart from the white casing, it comes with Android 2.2.2, and it features a 4 inch IPS LCD display.

The .co.cc is not an officially authorised second-level domain like .co.uk, but just a domain name which is owned by a Korean company that is offering and sells subdomains for it. These subdomains are often registered in bulk and commonly used to distribute malware and spam. The limited edition Xbox 360 will be designed after everyone’s favourite Astromech droid, R2-D2, and whilst the console wont look like R2-D2 it will feature an R2-D2 color scheme.

| New iPod Touch To Feature 3G Connection Posted: 11 Jul 2011 12:22 AM PDT This years iPod Touch is expected to be announced in September, and now there is a rumor that the new iPod Touch will feature a 3G connection, the new comes from Dutch website Apple Spot. According to the report the new iPod Touch would come with a 3G connection similar to the iPad, which would allow users to connect over 3G, which makes sense considering the features that will be available in iOS 5.

| LG Optimus Pro Android Smartphone Revealed Posted: 10 Jul 2011 11:55 PM PDT It looks like LG has another new smartphone to add to their popular Optimus range, the LG Optimus Pro, which will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and also features a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen display. Other specifications on the LG Optimus Pro include a QWERty keyboard and a three megapixel camera, unfortunately we don’t know what processor is inside the LG Optimus Pro as yet.

HTC has now confirmed that they will start to release unlocked bootloaders for a number of Android smartphones from August, and the first devices to get the unlocked bootloaders will be the HTC Sensation, the HTC Sensation 4G and the HTC EVO 3D. | Apple Going After GetJar For Using App Store Name Posted: 10 Jul 2011 11:13 PM PDT Last week we heard that Apple were denied an injunction against Amazon for Amazon using the term App Store for their mobile application download service for Android, of course this isn’t the end of the matter and a court case will take place to determine whether Apple should be allowed exclusive use of the App Store term in October. Apple holds a number of trademarks for the term App Store, and now it looks like it is going after another mobile application store, GetJar, who also provide mobile downloads for Google’s Android platform and other mobile platforms.
