She would ding it if we were being too loud and anyone talking after the ding got spanked. I got spanked a lot. A hack has surfaced that takes one of those bells and rather than wedging it in a first grade teachers bum, it connects the bell to your computer via USB. | Retro Rubiks Cube Could Get Aggravating Posted: 25 Jul 2011 11:20 AM PDT Therefore causing the opposite of what’s promised on the product page. See, this particular Rubiks shouldn’t’ be solved but squeezed. Why? It’s a stress ball. Weird, but instea dof solving it, you’re supposed to sink your mighty fingers on is softness. The aggravation comes from misunderstanding its fundamental use. Besides, when the ravages of an office routine are gnawing at your mind, perhaps brain twisting puzzles are the last thing you need. Or are they?

| Posted: 25 Jul 2011 06:20 AM PDT Research In Motion has announced that they will be cutting 2,000 jobs, around 10 percent of their total workforce, and it is also moving some of its executives around to different positions in the company. The news comes as part of ‘streamlining at RIM, the company has struggled to compete with the likes of Google’s Android OS and Apple’s iOS devices, and the company has been losing its smartphone sales share.

| Apple Drops Front Row Media Feature From OS X Lion Posted: 25 Jul 2011 05:14 AM PDT New features, amendments and the odd issue are still being discovered within Apple’s new OS X Lion operating system and one older feature to have received the chop in OS X Lion is Apple’s Front Row media menu. The Front Row feature under Snow Leopard was accessible by pressing the “Cmd+Esc” keys together. Front Row was originally added by Apple back in 2005 as an alternative to Microsofts new Windows Media Center, but now with Apple’s TV device the need for a media centre interface on your iMac has now been though as obsolete by Apple who have now removed the feature in OS X Lion. Back in March we heard that the iPhone 5 would feature deep voice integration, after Apple purchased a company called Siri, who had developed a virtual personal assistant which could be controlled by voice commands.

As a reminder, the Google Nexus comes with a 4 inch Super AMOLED display with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution, processing is provided by a 1GHz processor and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 10.1 inch multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core 1GHz processor, and it also features dual cameras, and Android 3.1 Honeycomb.

| Apple Macbook Batteries Open To Malicious Attacks Posted: 25 Jul 2011 02:18 AM PDT Over the weekend it has been reported that security researcher Charlie Miller has found a security glitch within Apples MacBook batteries that could be used by hackers to cause serious damage to the battery and system. The new security hole has been found by Miller within the chip and micro-controllers’ firmware that controls the battery. The firmware can be accessed using two passwords once used in a 2009 software update issued by Apple and can allows a potential hacker to alter charge-levels and thermal read-outs, together with the possibility of installing Malware within the battery firmware which would continue to effect the system until its battery was removed. | China Shuts Down Fake Apple Stores Posted: 25 Jul 2011 02:06 AM PDT Some of our readers will remember the fake Apple Store that we feature on the site last week, it was discovered by expatriate blogger BirdAbroad, who also discovered a number of other fake Apple stores in Kunming China. The store looked so realistic from the photos that it was hard to tell it apart from a real Apple retail store, and now it looks like the Chinese authorities are putting an end to these fake Apple Stores.

The Disk Mouse has been designed to be exactly the same size and shape of a CD or DVD disk so that when its not being used the Disk Mouse can remain stored in an unused disk drive. | Apple Seeds OS X 10.7.2 Lion To Developers Posted: 25 Jul 2011 01:32 AM PDT Apple’s latest version of its Mac operating system, OS X Lion launched last week, and has already become popular with Mac owners with Apple reporting over one million downloads of Lion on its first day. Now Apple has seeded a new version of OS X Lion to developers, OS X 10.7.2 and the latest developer version has changed support for iCloud Beta 5, and developers have to download 10.7.2 to be able to run and text iCloud services.

Posted: 25 Jul 2011 12:40 AM PDT We know that the iPhone 5 will probably land in September, Apple confirmed hat they will have a new product launching in September last week, and we suspect it will be the new iPhone 5. Now it looks like we may have an actual launch date for the iPhone 5, the 5th of September 2011, the news comes from mobile carrier Swisscom, who recently spoke to iPhone Italia and have said that the iPhone 5 will launch on their network on the 5th of October, one month after the US launch.

| Has Samsung Passed Apple And Nokia In Smartphone Sales? Posted: 25 Jul 2011 12:23 AM PDT Samsung’s latest smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S II have been a huge success for the company, having sold over 3 million units of the device and it hasn’t even gone on sale in the US yet. Now according to a recent report by Neil Mawston of Strategy Analytics, Samsung may have sold more smartphones in the April to June quarter than Apple and Nokia.

Now it looks like the twins have lost their latest court cast against Facebook, as US district Judge Douglas Woodlock in Boston dismissed the latest court cases between the twins and Facebook.

| Sony Cybershot TX55 Compact Camera Announced Posted: 24 Jul 2011 11:40 PM PDT Sony has added another compact camera to its Cybershot range with the launch of the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55, which according to Sony is the worlds thinnest camera that can capture full HD AVCHD video. The Sony Cybershot TX55 measures just 12.2mm thick, and it features a 16.2mm Exmor R image sensor, plus some new technology from Sony that they call ‘By Pixel Super Resolution;, which is design to boost zoom range to 10x without any image quality loss.
