Free WiFi and TV coming to all Taco Bell Restaurants Posted: 07 Jul 2011 12:27 PM PDT Back in college and high school, I ate a lot of Taco Bell. I ate it because it was cheap and in the dorm room the things would give you enough gas to keep people away from your side of the room. Taco bell is going upscale with a move that will surely bring more students in for cheap tacos and free WiFi. Atlantis Shuttle Crew Testing Drinkable Pee Bags Posted: 07 Jul 2011 08:52 AM PDT Ever drank your own pee? Don’t. There are toxic substances in the liquid. (Don’t say you weren’t warned.) But there are extreme instances when recycling pee proves very practical. When the Atlantis shuttle embarks on its final mission on Friday, the astronauts involved will have a new gadget with them up in orbit. It’s a compact conversion kit that removes the impurities in urine to produce drinkable water. Groundbreaking Bionic Glasses Restores Poor Eyesight Posted: 07 Jul 2011 08:40 AM PDT Recently a scientist claimed that immortality was within the grasp of modern science. But all the way in Oxford uni England, the fruits of indefinite perfectibility are being used for a more altruistic purpose—restoring sight to the blind, or at least visually impaired. A new set of ‘bionic’ glasses embedded with advanced technology could allow the visually impaired to perceive their surroundings and restore a little normalcy to their lives. Steve Jobs Showcases New Tea Drink In Taiwan (Video) Posted: 07 Jul 2011 08:32 AM PDT If the title of this post grabbed you by the collar, well and good. Problem is Steve Jobs was never in Taiwan—an impersonator was though and he was giving a keynote about a tea brand. There’s a rather awkward video after the jump, but before that, won’t you agree that dear old Steve is one of the greatest salesmen on Earth? (He is! He is!) Panasonic Blames Hollywood For Ruining 3D Posted: 07 Jul 2011 08:14 AM PDT In a heroic exclamation that championed substance over form, a Panasonic marketing director panned Hollywood’s 3D fever. If you ever endured the Clash of the Titans remake from summer 2010, you probably have a good idea from whence his rage emanates. The setting of this broadside was at the Intellect Consumer Electronics show 2011. The courageous man who uttered the biting words was Andrew Denham, who shared a very poignant insight: Everything after Avatar sucked and 3d movies since have been awful messes. Apple To Patch JailbreakMe Exploit With iOS Update Posted: 07 Jul 2011 05:44 AM PDT The JailbreakMe jailbreak which jailbreaks the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch was only released the other day, and it has already jailbroken over 1 million iOS devices, and now it looks like Apple will be releasing a software update which will probably stop the JailbreakMe jailbreak from working. The JailbreakMe jailbreak uses an exploit which takes advantage of a security hole in Apple’s mobile Safari, and the security hole could also be used by criminals to gain access to a users iOS device and get their personal details from the device. It looks like Apple plans to close the security hole, as Apple has said that they are aware of the issue and are developing a fix that will be released via a software update. If Apple fixes the security hole, then it will probably stop the JailbreakMe jailbreak from working on iOS devices like the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4. Source The Next Web
