Posted: 06 Jul 2011 06:54 AM PDT At the moment Microsoft’s Xbox Live service is currently offline, but Microsoft has not revealed the cause as yet, only posting a quick message saying they are aware of the problem. Could the service be down after a hacker attack or is it just a glitch in the system? Its not very often that Microsoft’s Xbox Live goes down and maintenance is normally announced so it will be interesting to see the cause once Microsoft have sorted the situation. Lets hope it not down for too long and experiences the same problems as Sony’s PSN over recent months. Google Chrome Browser Climbs Above 20 Percent Market Share While IE Drops Below 50 Percent Posted: 06 Jul 2011 05:30 AM PDT Google’s Chrome browser that was initially launched back December 2008 has now climbed to over 20 percent share of the browser market share according to new statistics released by StatCounter this week. Chromes market share stood at 20.7 percent in June 2011 and up 2.8 percent from the same month back in 2009. Unfortunately for Microsoft its IE browser in various versions has sliped back to 44 percent from a lofty 59 percent two years ago. MSI Unveils Worlds First PCI-E Gen 3 Motherboard Z68A-GD80 (G3) Posted: 06 Jul 2011 03:13 AM PDT MSI have unveiled a new motherboard which they have added to their range in the form of the Z68A-GD80 (G3) which is the world’s first motherboard to be equipped with PCI-E Gen 3. The PCI-E Gen 3 provides the motherboard with ultra-high 32GB/s transfer bandwidth, with the new PCI Express Gen 3 being 200 percent faster than the older PCI Express Gen 2 motherboards. The Z68A-GD80 (G3) is also backward compatible with older PCI Express 2.0 devices and will even enhance their performance considerably.

Verizon Puts And End To Unlimited Data Plans Posted: 06 Jul 2011 02:51 AM PDT Verizon Wireless has announced that the company is putting an end to unlimited data plans from today, Verizon previously offered an unlimited data plan for $30 a month, instead customers who are paying the $30 a month will now get 2GB of data. They have also added a couple of other plans for higher data users, $50 a month will get you 5GB of data and $80 a month will get you 10GB of data,Verizon is not the first mobile carrier to do this, AT&T did it last year and a number of the mobiles carriers here in the UK have done the same.
