BBC announces YouTube original content channels focusing on science and nature

Microsoft Introduces TypeScript Programming Language (video)

Google Pulls Motorola Devices From German Stores

Back in September Apple won a patent ruling against Motorola in Germany, and now it would appear that Motorola has stopped selling a number of their devices in Germany on stores and also on their website.

According to Florian Mueller from Foss Patents, a number of Motorola’s Android devices are no longer available in Germany, and Motorola’s own website now only lists three Android devices in Germany, all of them are smartphones, and tablets like the Motorola Xoom 2 are not available.

Snapseed For Android Launching Soon?

Snapseed the awesome iOS applications and photography filters created by Nik Software and which was recently acquired by Google, may be launching a new Snapseed Android version very soon.

If images snapped in Snapseed and published to Google+ by Google's very own Vic Gundotra, are anything to go by, however no details on how the images was taken have been released as yet.

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini Appears On Retailers Website

Samsung is expected to announce a new version of their Galaxy S III smartphone this week, the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini, and we heard earlier today that the device would come with a 4 inch display which would feature a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

Now a couple of European retailers have listed the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini on their website, and it looks like the handset will be available in black, blue and white, the same colors as the original Galaxy S III.

Chameleon 1.1 Smart Launcher For Android Unveiled (video)

Teknision has rolled out a new video for its Chameleon 1.1 Smart Launcher application currently under development for Android this week, after a number of users requested that the application should include more widgets.

Last month we heard that UK mobile operator O2 would be offering a special edition of the Sony Xperia T Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia T Skyfall Edition, and the handset is now available from the carrier.

O2 are offering the Sony Xperia T Skyfall Edition from free to £179.99 on their pay monthly contracts or for £429 on their pre-paid pay as you go contracts and the handset is now available from O2.

Google Accidentally Ships Out A 32GB Nexus 7 Tablet To A Customer In Japan

We have been hearing rumors over the last week that Google are getting ready to release a 32GB version of their Nexus 7 tablet, and now one person in Japan, who ordered a 16GB Nexus 7 tablet from Google actually received the new 32GB version.

Twitter user @oppese thought that they had received a 16GB Nexus 7 tablet from Google, as the box showed a 16GB model, but when the device was powered up it showed it had 32GB of storage.

Blizzard’s Mists of Pandaria Expansion Brings 1 Million Subscribers Back To WoW

Blizzards World of Warcraft has been out for some eight years now after being originally launched back in November of 2004, but recently the huge MMORPG, which once had 12 million players had recently started to lose players, losing over 1 million subscribers in the past three months.

However with the launch of their new WoW Mists of Pandaria expansion for the game, Blizzard has now been able to entice players back and has just added another million subscribers to its books.

Nokia Lumia 610 To Get Performance Update

Nokia has announced that they will be releasing a performance update for their Lumia 610 smartphone, they also noted that this is not the Windows Phone 7.8 update for the Lumia 610, but a separate update.

According to Nokia the performance update will bring a range of enhancements to the device, which will include overall system performance, camera imporvements and usability.

Larklife Wireless Fitness Tracker Announced

Nokia Transport Beta App Updated For Windows Phone

Facebook Android App In Final Testing

It looks like Facebook could be getting closer to releasing a native application for Google’s mobile OS, ad according to Engadget, the native app is in the final testing stages.

iPhone Maker Foxconn Halts iPhone 5 Production Due To Staff Strike

Apple’s iPhone 5 is already in short supply due to the huger demand for the handset, and now it is possibly that there could be even more shortages of the iPhone 5, as staff at the factory in China which produce the iPhone 5 have walked out.

Foxconn have been forced to halt production of the iPhone 5, as staff are now protesting against working conditions at the factory, this is something that has come under criticism in the past, although Apple looked into the working conditions and reported that they were satisfactory.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Source Code Released

Samsung has now released the source code for the latest Android smartphone, the new Samsung Galaxy Note II, and the code includes Android 4.1 Jelly Bean plus the latest version of Samsung’s custom UI, TouchWiz 4.0.

Nokia Lumia 920 Headed To Rogers In Canada Next Month

Last week we heard that the Nokia Lumia 920 would be available exclusively in the US with AT&T, and now Rogers in Canada have announced that they will be the exclusive carrier for the handset in Canada, and the device will launch in November.

Asus Padfone 2 To Feature LTE

Asus are holding a press event next week where their will announce their new Padfone smartphone, the Asus Padfone 2, last week we heard some rumored specifications on this new handset, and now it looks like the device will feature LTE.

HP has announced its lowest quarterly profit since 2006, HTC’s profits have dropped by 79 percent for the third quarter of 2012 to 3.9 billion New Taiwan Dollars, about $133 million.

This has dropped 79 percent from the previous year where they had profits of 18.64 billion New Taiwan Dollars, and their overall revenue dropped 48 percent from the previous year.

First Windows 8 PCs Go On Sale Before Launch

Microsoft will launch Windows 8 on the 26th of October, and various manufacturers will launch their new Windows 8 devices on the same day, although it would appear that one retailer has already started selling Windows 8 devices.

According to ZDNet, the Home Shopping Network started offering Windows 8 PCs over the weekend, with a total of five different Windows 8 PCs available, and apparently the devices are ready to ship once ordered.

Roku And 3M Streaming Projector Unveiled For $299

Raspberry Pi owners who would like to start programming their new $35 mini PC, but have had no prior programming experience, might be pleased to learn that Adafruit has released a new software specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi computer to make programming a litre easier to learn.

Adafruit who have also previously released and developed the Raspberry Pi Education Linux Distro, and has now created the WebIDE (Web Integrated Development Environment), crested to run on the Raspberry Pi computer.

T-Mobile Now Offering iPhone 5 Nano SIM Cards

US mobile carrier T-Mobile doesn’t sell Apple’s iPhone 5, although you can now use one of the new iPhone 5′s on T-Mobile’s networks, as the company is now offering the new Nano SIM cards for the iPhone 5.

If you buy one of the unlocked iPhone 5′s from Apple, you can get yourself a Nano SIM card from T-Mobile and use the handset on their network, although you won’t be able to use 4G on T-Mobile as their 4G network is on a different band to the iPhone 5 in most areas.

T-Mobile are offering the Nano SIM cards on their various plans, and the cheapest one will set you back $69.99 a month, this comes with unlimited texts, talk and data.

T-Mobile has started to offer iPhone 5 compatible 4G in Seattle, Las Vegas and New York, they are expected to expand the service to other cities in the US although they haven’t announced details of which cities will be getting it next.

Apple Orders 10 Million iPad Mini’s For Quarter Four (Rumor)

Apple is expected to send out invites this week to a special event where they will reportedly unveil their new iPad Mini, the invites are expected to be sent out this Wednesday the 10th of October and the event is rumored to take place the following week on the 17th of October.

Last week we heard that manufacturers had already started supplying Apple with parts for the iPad Mini, and now according to a recent report Apple has ordered around 10 million iPad Mini’s for the fourth quarter of 2012.

Two Chinese firms, which make smartphones, Huawei and ZTE apparently pose a national security risk according to a recent report by US lawmakers, both companies are know for producing Android smartphones as well as many other devices.

According to a recent report by the WSJ, the House intelligence committee, in the US, which has been investigation the two companies has said that, they pose a risk to the US because their equipment could possibly be used for spying on Americans.

LG Optimus G Nexus Smartphone To Launch At End Of October

Last week we heard that Google has apparently handed out some of their new Nexus smartphones to employees, the device is apparently based on LG’s Optimus G handset, and now it looks like this new Nexus phone will launch by the end of October.

According to a recent report from Cnet, the device will come with Android 4.2 and it will be unveiled around the end of the month, and it is expected to feature very similar hardware to the LG Optimus G.

Apple Starts Shipping 30 Pin Lightning iPhone 5 Adapter

Apple’s iPhone 5 comes with a new smaller Lightning dock connector, this means that if you want to use any of your old accessories, like iPhone docks, car chargers etc, with the new iPhone then you will need to buy an adapter from Apple.

It looks like Apple has started shipping out the new 30 pin Lightning adapters to customers, as some people in Australia have had notification that their dock adapters are on the way.

New iPad With A6 Based Processor Appears In Analytics App

According to the guys over at MacRumors, a new version of Apple’s iPad have shown up in an app developers analytics, the device has the reference iPad3,6, which is a model of the iPad that has yet to be announced.

The device seems to be running either an A6 processor or a variation on Apple’s custom A6 design, the current iPad model numbers are iPad3,1, iPad 3,2 and iPad 3,3, it looks like this new device is possibly a tweaked version of the existing iPad 3.

Apple Gives Previous MobileMe Users An Extra Year Of iCloud Storage

When Apple replaced its MobileMe service with iCloud last year, it gave users of MobileMe, who had purchased extra storage on MobileMe the same storage on iCloud for an extra year.

I was a previous mobile me user, and when iCloud was released I was given an extra 20GB of storage on iCloud, this was due to run out at the end of September, but Apple sent out emails on the weekend to say that the extra storage had been extended, you can see the email I received below.
