| Samsung Galaxy Note II Now Available From UK Mobile Carrier Three Posted: 01 Oct 2012 08:46 AM PDT The Samsung Galaxy Note II launched in the UK earlier today, and now UK mobile carrier Three has announced that the handset is available on their network, on a range of different plans. The Samsung Galaxy Note II is available on both pay as you go with Three for £499 and on their monthly contracts with prices starting at just £29 for the device on a two year contract.

| Vodafone UK And O2 UK To Merge Mobile Networks Posted: 01 Oct 2012 08:35 AM PDT UK mobile carriers Vodafone and O2 have been given the go ahead by the regulatory authorities to merge their mobile networks in the UK, and according to the press release this will give indoor 2G and 3G coverage to around 98 percent of the UK by 2015. It will also allow the two companies to roll out 4G LTE in the UK, and take on EE, which is the 4G LTE collaboration between mobile providers T-Mobile and Orange.

| EU To Investigate The Way Apple Advertises Product Warranties Posted: 01 Oct 2012 06:28 AM PDT Eu Justice Minister, Viviane Reding has called for the various EU members to look into the way that Apple advertises its product warranties in European countries, at the moment Apple advertises its devices with a 1 year warranty. Under European law, anyone who purchases a device are automatically entitled to a two year warranty, so even if Apple says your device comes with an 1 year warranty you are actually entitled to a two year one, which could lead to confusion amongst consumers.

| Samsung Galaxy Camera Appears At The FCC Posted: 01 Oct 2012 04:21 AM PDT Last week we heard that Samsung’s Android powered Samsung Galaxy Camera had gone up for pre-order in the UK, and not it would appear that the device is getting ready to launch in the US as it has turned up at the FCC. According to Android Authority, the device, which comes with a data connection but not a cellular connection for making calls, has appeared at the FCC with the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands, which means it would be compatible with US mobile carrier AT&T.

| Apple Adds Alternative Maps Section To iOS App Store Posted: 01 Oct 2012 04:12 AM PDT Apple’s iOS Map app has come under a lot of criticism since it was launched with iOS 6 and the iPhone 5, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook recently apologized for the app and also announced that Apple are working to improve the application. In the mean time, Apple suggested in their letter from Tim Cook that there are a number of alternative Map Apps to use, which included Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or Google or Nokia maps from their websites in Safari on your iOS device.

| Nokia Signs Maps Deal With Oracle Posted: 01 Oct 2012 03:21 AM PDT We have been hearing quite a bit about mapping software over the last few weeks, mainly Apple Maps and Google Maps, and now it would appear that Nokia is the latest company that will be looking to give Google Maps some competition. According to a recent report by the WSJ, Nokia has signed a deal with Oracle to use Nokia Maps for enterprise customers, and the deal will give Oracle customers access to Nokia Maps and location services.

| AT&T Announces Samsung Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Express And More Posted: 01 Oct 2012 02:40 AM PDT US mobile carrier AT&T has already announced that they will be carrying the new Samsung Galaxy Note II smartphone, and now they have announced the device as part of their fall line up along with two other Samsung smartphones and a tablet. As well as the Samsung Galaxy Note II, AT&T will also be offering the Samsung Galaxy Express, which comes with a 4.5 inch touchscreen Super AMOLED display and a 1.5GHz dual core processor and a 5 megapixel camera.

| RIM’s L Series And N Series BlackBerry 10 Smartphones Leaked Posted: 01 Oct 2012 02:22 AM PDT Last week a video was leaked online of some of RIM’s new BlackBerry 10 smartphones, the BlackBerry L Series and the BlackBerry N Series, one device is a touchscreen devices, whilst the other features a physical QWERTY keyboard. The video has now been removed, but the guys over at CrackBerry managed to get their hands on some photos of both devices which you can see below, there are no details on why the video was removed, although we suspect RIM had something to do with it.

| Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Launches In The US Posted: 01 Oct 2012 02:11 AM PDT Amazon announced their latest e-reader last month, the Kindle Paperwhite, and the device is now available in the US from today, and it comes with a 6 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and it also features its own built in light for reading in the dark. According to Amazon, the Kindle Paperwhite is their most advanced e-reader to date and there two versions available the Kindle Paperwhite WiFi and the Paperwhite WiFi and 3G.

| Apple CEO Tim Cook Apologizes For Apple Maps Posted: 30 Sep 2012 11:13 PM PDT When apple released iOS 6, they replace the Google Maps app in iOS with their own Apple Maps app, which got a less than favorable response from iOS users, mainly due to the inaccuracy of the application and lack of features when compared to Google Maps. Apple has now released a press release, in the form of a letter from the company’s CEO, Tim Cook, where he says that Apple fell short of delivering a world class product with Apple maps.
