We have robots for the home, in factories, and more and more in the sea. The flks at ETH Zurich are working on the Naro-Tartaruga, a turtle-inspired robot that would swim efficiently while carrying cargo in its shell.

Toys R Us launches family-friendly internet movie service

Toys R Us like so many others has its own branded hardware (in the Tabeo, and Nabi) and even an accompanying app store, and now they are supplementing those with a family oriented digital media service. ToysrusMovies.com is a Rovi-powered digital storefront available to PCs, Macs and other Flash compatible devices. There’s even an app planned for the Tabeo soon, Blu-ray players, HDTVs and other mobile devices including iOS and Android.

Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 hit Stores Sunday

Starbucks To Support Square Wallet From November

Yesterday we heard that Starbucks had updated their iOS app to support Apple’s new Passbook app, and now Starbucks has announced that they will also be supporting Square Wallet from early November.

Back in August, Starbucks announced that they would be investing $25 million in Square and they also announce that they would be supporting Square’s mobile wallet App.

Some of our readers might remember the original PivotPad that launched after a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier in the year, now its creators RocketFish have unveiled a newly updated version called the PadPivot NST.

The new PadPivot NST has now been equipped with a new tablet sticking pas that no longer requires an tablet case or dust cover. The new PadPivot NST has also been tweaked to fold up faster and even works with the new iPhone 5 if so desired. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Microsoft Surface Tablet Appears At The FCC

Microsoft’s new Surface Tablet has just appeared at the FCC, ready for its release later this month, the Microsoft Surface will go on sale n the 26th of October, the same day that Microsoft launches Windows 8.

Pantech Element and Burst Get Android 4.0 ICS Update On AT&T

AT&T has announced that two of its devices are getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, the Pantech Element, which is a tablet and the Pantech Burst smartphone.

Apple CEO Tim Cook Pays Tribute To The Late Steve Jobs

Today is the one year anniversary of the death of Apple’s co founder and former CEO, Steve Jobs, and Apple has updated it homepage with a video of Steve Jobs showing some of his greatest Apple product announcements, like the iPhone.

iNuke Boom Junior Speaker Dock Announced

Some of our readers might remember the huge 8 ft long iPhone speaker dock, called the iNuke Boom which was unveiled back in December 2011 for $30,000, by Behringer.

Well now the creators of that massive monster speaker, have cut down a little on scale and have created the iNuke Boom Junior speaker dock, which measures just 8.7 x 16.5 x 9.8 inches insize and is priced at a more affordable $180.

Futaba 0.22mm Flexible OLED Watch Concept

Futaba has unveiled a new concept watch it has created that includes an ultra thin flexible OLED screen that measure just 0.22mm in thickness, and can be complete bet around your wrist to wear.

The OLED display on the concept watch is 3.5 inches in size and provides a resolution of 256 x 64 pixels and a brightness is 100 cd/m2, together with full color support.

Apple Releases OS X 10.8.2 Supplemental Update

Apple recently released their OS X 10.8.2 software update for the Mac, and now Apple has released an OS X 10.8.2 supplemental update which brings a number of small fixes to OS X Mountain Lion.

Google Reaches Settlement With Publishers On Google Library Project Lawsuit

Google has announced that it has reached a settlement with the AAP (The Association of American Publishers) over its Google Library Project, the settlement will provide access to publishers in-copyright books in Google’s Library Project.

This agreement between Google and the AAP means that the lawsuit against Google will now be dismissed, and it settles the previous copyright infringement claims brought against Google.

Windows Phone 8 Launch Event Announced For October 29th

Microsoft has a busy month this month, they are launching Windows 8 on the 26th of October and have a launch event scheduled for the 25th of October, where they will also launch their new Surface Tablet.

Now Microsoft has sent out invites to its Windows Phone 8 launch event, which will take place on the 29th of October in San Francisco, so we can expect to see a number of new Windows Phone 8 devices then.

We have already seen some new Windows Phone 8 devices from Nokia, with the Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920, plus the new Windows Phone 8 handsets from HTC, which include the HTC Windows Phone 8X and HTC Windows Phone 8X, it will be interesting to see what other Windows Phone 8 devices are available at launch.

32GB Nexus 7 Tablet Appears Online

Yesterday we heard a rumor that Google would be launching a 32GB version of their Nexus 7 tablet, the Nexus 7 is currently available with either a choice of 8GB of built on storage or 32GB of built in storage.

Now the guys over at Droid Life have spotted a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 online, and it look like it may have a possible launch date of the 24th of October, have a look at the second photo below.

Windows 8 Mozilla Firefox Metro Preview Now Available

Over the past few months Mozilla has been working on a new Windows 8 user interface for its latest Firefox web browser, and now the company has released images and preview that you can try.

The new Windows 8 Firefox browser includes a number of great features including, touch and swipe gesture support, syncs with Firefox on the desktop, supports Windows 8 charms, data sharing between other Metro apps, tab bar with tab previews, keyboard shortcuts, and the ability to view pages in desktop mode.

LG Optimus G Nexus Smartphone Handed Out To Google Staff (Rumor)

We have been hearing a number of rumors about Google’s next Nexus smartphone, with some rumors saying that the handset will be manufactured by Samsung and other saying that the device will be a version of the LG Optimus G smartphones.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note II Poses For The Camera

It looks like the new Samsung Galaxy Note II is headed to US mobile carrier T-Mobile, as the guys from TMO News have obtained some photos of the handset with T-Mobile branding.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II comes with a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, there is also a quad core 1.6GHz processor and the latest version of Google's mobile OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Skyrim Hearthfire DLC Lands On Steam For PC (video)

After releasing their new Skyrim Hearthfire downloadable content on to Xbox 360 consoles back in September, Bethesda has now rolled out the Skyrim Hearthfire DLC to Steam for PC players to enjoy.

Unfortunately for PS3 players, no release date has been given and they are expected to be left out from being able to enjoy the new expansion due to the problems Bethesda and Sony have faced, both with the original Skyrim game when it launched, and the additional updates.

Google Gesture Search Now Supported On Android Tablets Including Nexus 7

Sony Halts Sales Of Xperia S Tablet Due To Manufacturing Fault

Sony’s new Xperia S tablet was announced back in August, and since it launched Sony have sold over 100,000 units, and now according to a recent report Sony has halted sales of the device.

It would appear that there is some sort of manufacturing fault with the tablet, which has caused Sony to stop selling the device, it has also said that it will fix the problem on all of the devices its has sold.

Logitech Wireless Webcam For Mac Unveiled

It looks like Logitech has added a new addition to their range of web cameras this week with the arrival of the Logitech Wireless Webcam For Mac, which was first spotted going through the FCC a few weeks back.

There have been more and more rumors about Apple’s new iPad Mini over the last few weeks, the tablet is expected to feature a smaller 7.85 inch touchscreen display and share a similar design to the new iPhone 5.

AT&T Announces Samsung And Asus Windows 8 Tablets

US mobile carrier AT&T has announced that they will be offering some new Windows 8 tablets for the holiday shopping season, there will be two Windows 8 tablets available one from Asus and one from Samsung.

The two tablets that will be available with AT&T are the Samsung ATIV Tab and the Asus VivoTab, and whist AT&T hasn’t given an exact launch date we suspect they will be available later this month when Windows 8 launches.
