| Apple To Use Select Retail Employees To Improve Apple Maps For iOS 6 Posted: 03 Oct 2012 06:45 AM PDT Apple’s CEO Tim Cook recently apologized for Apple Maps, which has come under quite a bit of criticism since it was launched with iOS 6, he also announced that Apple would be working hard to improve the service. According to MacRumors, one of the ways Apple is looking to improve Apple Maps in iOS 6, is to use select retail employees in different store locations, and apparently participating stores will dedicate 40 hours of staff time per week.

| T-Mobile And MetroPCS Agree $1.5 Billion Merger Posted: 03 Oct 2012 05:58 AM PDT There have been rumors over the last couple of days that T-Mobile and its parent company Deutsche Telekom are looking to take over us carrier MetroPCS, and it looks like the deal has now been approved by the board of both companies. The deal will see the two companies merge, with Deutsche Telekom holding a 74 percent stake in the company and MetroPCS holding a 26 percent stake, MetroPCS will receive a payment of $1.5 billion for T-Mobile.

| Apple Maps Uses 80 Percent Less Data Than Google Maps Posted: 03 Oct 2012 05:05 AM PDT Since Apple released their new iOS maps app, Apple Maps, which replaced Google Maps on the iPhone, there has been a fair bit of criticism about Apple Maps, this sparked an apology from Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, who promised that Apple are working hard to fix their maps app. According to a recent report by Onavo, there is one area where Apple Maps is actually better than Google Maps, that area is data usage, Onavo tested out how much data was used on Google Maps and also how much data was used on Apple Maps.

| Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE Coming To EE In The UK October 15th Posted: 03 Oct 2012 04:34 AM PDT EE just announced that their 4G LTE mobile network will go live on the 30th of October and now we have some details of another smartphone that will be available with the new 4G carrier. The Samsung Galaxy Note II LTE will be available from EE on the 15th of October, although they have not released any details on pricing, and you won’t be able to use the 4G LTE on the device until the 30th of October.

| Fujitsu Demos Windows 8 Tablet Posted: 03 Oct 2012 03:32 AM PDT Fujitsu has shown off a new Windows 8 tablet, and whilst the details on the exact specifications are scarce, the guys from the Verge did get to check out out briefly and it looks to be Fujitsu’s first Intel Clover Trail Windows 8 Tablet. The Fujitsu tablet measures just 8.5mm thick and weighs in at just 1.5 pounds, and is reported to feature a 10 inch touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and it features a microSD card slot, microUSB and a 10 pin charging port.

| Samsung Wants Apple’s $1.05 Billion Verdict Overtuned, Says Juror Was Biased Posted: 03 Oct 2012 03:09 AM PDT Apple recently won a patent lawsuit against Samsung in the US, and Samsung were ordered to pay Apple damages of $1.05 billion, Apple has been attempting to have the damages increased to around $1.8 billion US dollars. Now it would appear that Samsung is trying to have the ruling overturned, and according to Samsung, one of the jurors in the case between the two companies was biased.

According to a number of reports Nokia had been considering selling of their HQ, and they have now confirmed that they are looking to do this, although they intend to continue to run their operations from the Nokia HQ by leasing it back.

The photos below were posted to UkranianiPhone.com, and are apparently the back casing an the display of the new iPad Mini, what is interesting is the back casing as it looks like it is similar to the painted black aluminum on Apple’s new iPhone 5.

| Motorola Withdraws ITC Patent Complaint Against Apple Posted: 03 Oct 2012 02:02 AM PDT Motorola filed a complaint against Apple with the ITC back in August, accusing Apple of infringing on Motorola’s patents, and now it would appear that Motorola has decided to withdraw the complaint. There are no details as yet, on why Motorola decided to withdraw the complaint against Apple, although Florian Mueller from Foss Patents speculates that the two companies could be looking at a possible settlement, although this was not disclosed in the filing, so there is probably no agreement reached at the moment.

| iPad Mini Goes Into Production (Rumor) Posted: 03 Oct 2012 01:28 AM PDT Yesterday there were a number of different rumors about Apple’s new iPad Mini, we heard that Foxconn were apparently building the iPad Mini at their plant in Brazil, and that AU Optronics were apparently supplying the displays for the new iPad Mini. Now according to a recent report by the WSJ, Apple has already started production of their new iPad Mini, which we are expecting Apple to officially announce on the 17th of October.

Valve first announced they would start selling non-gaming titles on their Steam network back in August, and now have implemented their plans, with a selection of graphics and photo editing software packages available to purchase, diversifying the game only selection which has stood since Steam launched. | 4G LTE Headed To Major UK Mobile Carriers By Spring 2013 As Agreement Reached Posted: 03 Oct 2012 01:01 AM PDT UK mobile carrier EE, which is a partnership between carriers Orange and T-Mobile recently announced that they would be launching the UK’s first 4G LTE mobile network. This left the other carriers like Vodafone and O2 out of 4G LTE for the moment, and now an agreement has been reached which will see all of the four major mobile carriers in the UK offer 4G LTE in the UK by the spring of 2013.

| 60 Percent Of iPhones And 45 Percent Of iPads Are Now On iOS 6 Posted: 03 Oct 2012 12:31 AM PDT Apple released the latest version of their mobile OS a few weeks ago, iOS 6, there have been a number of issues reported with iOS 6, although this hasn’t stopped people updating their iOS devices to the latest version. According to a recent report by Chitika,over 60 percent of iPhones are now using iOS 6, and over 45 percent of iPad owners have also updated their device to iOS 6.

According to the report Microsoft has been working on the device for a while, and the device is apparently in testing at the moment, although there are no specific details on hardware or specifications as yet.
