| Apple To To Move iPhone And iPad Processor Production Away From Samsung Posted: 15 Oct 2012 06:48 AM PDT Apple and Samsung are involved in a number of lawsuits around the world, with each company accusing the other one of infringing on their patents, the two companies still do business though, with Samsung producing many of the parts for Apple’s iPhone and iPad. This could be about to change in the future, as a Samsung executive told the Korea Times that Samsung were not involved in the design of Apple’s new A6 processor, instead they just built the processor for Apple, on previous versions Samsung had helped Apple design the processor.

| LG Announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Release Schedule For Existing Devices Posted: 15 Oct 2012 06:10 AM PDT LG has released some details on when some of its existing Android devices will be updated to the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and the first updates will start to roll out next month. First up is the LG Optimus LTE II which will get the Jelly Bean update in November, after that the LG Optimus G will be the next device to get the android 4.1 Jelly bean update and this should land in December.

| Amazon Discontinues The Kindle DX Posted: 15 Oct 2012 05:45 AM PDT Amazon launched their Kidle DX back in 2010, and now it looks like Amazon has decided to kill off the Kindle DX as the device is no longer available to purchase on Amazon’s website. According to the guys over at The eBook Reader, there is no mention on amazon when the Kindle DX will be back in stock, which would imply that it has not been removed due to a shortage of stock, but because it is has been discounted.

The Nokia Lumia 822 will come with Windows Phone 8 and it features 4G LTE and is expected to feature a WVGA display and an 8 megapixel camera and will also features 16GB of built in storage and a microSD card slot.

| Acoustic Barcodes Are The Audio QR Codes Of The Future (video) Posted: 15 Oct 2012 05:17 AM PDT A new technology has been created called Acoustic Barcodes which consist of a pattern of physical notches on an object that when swiped with a finger nail, or the edge of the smartphone, created a complex sounds that can then be converted by a smartphone or similar device into a binary ID. The Acoustic Barcodes work in a similar way to the popular QR codes, but use audio rather than just images. The photos below were posted on Twitter by @evleaks, a source of a number of leaked smartphones over the last few months, and the device is rumored to come with a 4.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm processor and a 13 megapixel camera.

| Apple Licenses Swiss Railway Clock Design For iPad And iOS 6 Posted: 15 Oct 2012 04:03 AM PDT When Apple released iOS 6, the clock up on the iPad had an update with a new design, when the new app was released, many people wondered why the design was so similar to that of the Swiss Railway Clock. The original design was from the Swiss Federal Railways, who have no issued a press release and confirmed that Apple have reached an agreement with them to use their clock design on the iPad and iPhone in iOS 6.

According to a recent report from the Next Web, Google is working on adding voice features into Google TV, and you will be able to use voice commands to search for programs on your Google TV device, as well as perform a number of other actions.

| iPhone 5 Usage Beats Samsung Galaxy S III In Just 3 Weeks Posted: 15 Oct 2012 02:52 AM PDT Apple launched their iPhone 5 just three weeks ago, although according to Chitika, usage of Apple’s iPhone 5 is no more than that of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone which has been on sale for a while. According to the report, web usage of the iPhone 5 is now at 56 percent, this compares to usage of the Samsung Galaxy S II of 44 percent, and this data was taken over a seven day period from the 3rd of October until the 9th of October.

| Softbank To Buy Sprint For $20.1 Billion Posted: 15 Oct 2012 02:42 AM PDT Last week there was a rumor that Japan’s Softbank were going to buy US mobile carrier Sprint, and now Softbank has confirmed that they will purchase Sprint in a deal worth $20.1 billion US dollars, which is around 1.571 trillion Yen. The two companies will merge to form a new company, and Softbank will own 70 percent in the new company, and Softbank will purchases $12.1 billion in existing shares and $8 in new shares from Sprint.

Now according to a recent report by Cnet, Google will be launching the Nexus 10 tablet in the first half of 2013, the device is reportedly being made by Samsung and will apparently feature a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, which would mean it would come with a higher resolution display than Apple’s new iPad.

The guys over at Mobile Geeks have received some details on pricing for the iPad Mini, and apparently prices will start at £249 Euros, or £200 in the UK and $299 in the US, this will be for an 8GB WiFi only iPad Mini.

We have now received some information from one of the UK retailers, and the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will launch in the UK on the 2nd of November, the SIM free version of the device will retail for £294.98 including taxes.
