Sony recalls Nasne media hub

In April Sony announced it was to release a new media hub called Nasne. The device allows for digital terrestrial and satellite programming to be piped to your PS3, PS Vita, Sony laptops, tablets, or smartphones via your home network. The included 500GB hard drive meant that you could record your favorite shows, too. The device was to launch in Japan tomorrow for around $200, but not anymore.

Perkins Smart Brailler helps the blind learn to type

There are digital Braille devices already available, but most of those assume that the blind already know how to write in the format. If they don’t they will have to learn the old fashioned way. PDT and Perkins hope to address this issue with the Perkins Smart Brailler.

Onkyo Launches New UBT-1 Bluetooth Adapter for Networked AV Receivers

Panasonic Lumix LX7 Compact Announced

Panasonic has today unveiled a number of new additions to their range of Lumix cameras, with one of the new arrivals being the Panasonic Lumix LX7.

The Panasonic Lumix LX7 is equipped with a 1/1.7-inch 10.1 megapixel MOS Sensor, and 24 mm ultra wide angle Leica DC Vario-Summilux lens, which is equipped with a 3.8x optical zoom.

Panasonic Lumix LZ20 Super Zoom Compact Announced

As well as their new Lumix FZ60 and Lumix G5, Panasonic have also unveiled their new Lumix LZ20 compact "super zoom" digital camera with 21x optical zoom.

Sony has added a new Walkman to its range with the launch of the Walkman F800, the device comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and features a 3.5 inch multi-touch display.

Firefox 14 Rolls Out Encrypting Google Searches By Default

Mozilla has today rolled out the latest version of their Firefox browser, version 14. Which brings with it an number of new features, as well as automatically encrypting Google searches by default.

Now when searching using Firefox 14 in either the location bar, search box, or the right-click menu. Any searches within Firefox 14 will automatically be sent to Google through a secure (HTTPS) connection as a default setting.

Panasonic Lumix FZ60 Super Zoom Camera Announced

As well as announcing the new Lumix G5, Panasonic also announced a few other cameras, one of those is the new Lumix FZ60, which features a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 25mm ultra wide-angle lens with a 24x optical zoom, this is the equivalent to a 25-600mm 35mm lens.

The Panasonic Lumix FZ60 features Intelligent Zoom, plus Intelligent Resolution technology for 48x equivalent images, and it features a 16.1 megapixel High Sensitivity MOS sensor, plus Panasonic’s LSI Venus Engine.

Intel Says There Are 20 Windows 8 Tablets In The Works

Intel’s CEO Paul Ottellini has revealed that there are 20 Windows 8 based tablets in the works from various manufacturers, the devices are expected to launch later this year at the same time as Windows 8.

The 20 tablets are based on Intel’s Clover Trail platform, and he also announced that Intel is expecting to increase the number of Ivy Bridge based ultrabook designs from 110 to 140.

Panasonic Lumix G5 Micro Four Thirds Camera Announced

Panasonic has unveiled the latest micro four thirds camera, the Lumix G5 which comes with a 16 megapixel sensor and also a new Venus processor which has had a re-design from the previous model.

The Panasonic Lumix G5 also features a 3 inch 920,000 dot resolution TFT display which can rotate 180 degrees and features a new tap to focus system, the G5 can record full HD video in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

Import Ban On Motorola Android Devices Starts Today In The US

The International Trade Commission ruled against Motorola previously on a number of their Android devices, which included smartphones and tablet, after a case between Microsoft and Motorola, who is now owned by Google.

The import ban on these various devices comes into force in the US today, although Motorola has not revealed exactly what they have planned, it is possible that they could get around the Exchange Active Sync patent, which the ban is for.

Google Says Nexus 7 Tablet Shipping This Week And Next

Yesterday we heard that some of the Google Nexus 7 tablet pre-orders had shipped in the UK, and now we have some more information on when the devices will ship in the UK and the US.

According to the guys over at ZDNET, all of the 8GB pre-orders of the Nexus 7 in the UK will ship by this Friday the 20th of July, with regards to the 16GB version anyone who pre-ordered the device before the 30th of June, their device will also ship on the 20th of July, any devices ordered after that date will start shipping next week.

Samsung’s New YP-GP1 Galaxy Player Revealed In Benchmarks

It looks like Samsung will shortly be launching a new version of their Galaxy Player, the device is the Samsung YP-GP1 and it is an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device.

According to the guys over at Sammy Hub, the Samsung YP-GP1 will feature a a dual core 1GHz processor and PowerVR SGX 540 graphics, it is also expected to feature a qHD resolution display.

Instagram For Android Gets Updated

Instagram have updated their popular photo sharing app for Google’s Android platform, the new version is Instagram 1.1.7 and it is compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 Froyo and above.
