| UK Judge Says HTC’s Smartphones Don’t Infringe Apple Patents Posted: 04 Jul 2012 05:20 AM PDT HTC has won a patent ruling in the UK, where Apple was suing HTC for allegedly infringing on some of Apple’s patents, and now a UK Judge has ruled that HTC’s smartphones do not infringe on Apple’s patents. Apple had previously alleged that HTC’s devices infringed on four of their patents related to touchscreen technology, the Judge dealing with the case Christopher Floyd has also said that three of the four patents in question are invalid.

| Amazon Kindle Fire 2 Launching In August (Rumor) Posted: 04 Jul 2012 05:10 AM PDT We had previously heard a rumor that amazon’s new Kindle Fire 2 tablet would be launching this month, but now according to a recent report Amazon may be launching their second generation Kindle Fire tablet in August. If the rumors are correct then Amazon has apparently ordered 2 million units of the Kindle Fire 2 from Chinese Manufacturer Quanta, and the device is expected to launch next month.

The Samsung Galaxy Chat features a 3 QVGA inch touchscreen display plus a full QWERTY keypad, and it comes with Samsung’s ChatON messaging and a dedicated launch key.

| Sony Xperia Miro To Retail For £126 In The UK Posted: 04 Jul 2012 04:43 AM PDT Sony announced the Xperia Miro last month, when the device was announced we didn’t have any pricing, but the guys over at Clove have now listed the handset on their website for £26 including taxes SIM free. The Sony Xperia Miro will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it features a 3.5 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels.

| Motorola Photon Q Appears At The FCC Posted: 04 Jul 2012 04:20 AM PDT Some of our readers will remember the Motorola Photon Q that we heard about back in April for US mobile carrier Sprint, it looks like the device is getting ready to launch as it has just appeared at the FCC. We still don’t have the full specifications on the device as yet, although it is expected to come with either a 4 inch or 4.3 inch display and a QWERTY keyboard plus NFC.

| Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Gets Android 4.0 ICS Update Posted: 04 Jul 2012 04:08 AM PDT It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 is the latest device to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, as according to the guys over at Sammobile the update is now available through Samsung’s Kies software. It isn’t clear as yet which countries in Europe are getting the update at the moment, although a number of owners of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 in Austria have reported the update is available.

| Motorola RAZR And RAZR Maxx Getting Test Push Of Android 4.0 ICS In Europe Posted: 04 Jul 2012 03:50 AM PDT Motorola has announced that they have started testing the roll out of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in Europe, with some users in Germany, France and Italy getting Android 4.0. So presume that if the test goes well, Motorola will start rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the rest of the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR Maxx devices in Europe.

| White EVO 4G LTE Coming To Sprint July 15th Posted: 04 Jul 2012 03:40 AM PDT It looks like Sprint will be launching a white version of the HTC EVO 4G LTE on their network in the US on then 15th of July, the handset will be available for $199.99 when you sign up to a new contract with the carrier. Now Google has launched their indoor maps here in the UK, and there are a total of forty different venues across the UK which are included in Google’s indoor mapping.

| US Judge Denies Samsung Galaxy Nexus Appeal Posted: 04 Jul 2012 01:08 AM PDT Earlier we heard that Google had pulled the Galaxy Nexus from their Google Play Store, and now it appears that Samsung’s appeal to have the ban of the Galaxy Nexus lifted in the US has been turned down. Judge Lucky Koh has denied Samsung’s appeal, and sales of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are now banned in the US, this is what she had to say about the ruling.

| Toshiba Fined $87 Million For LCD Price Fixing Posted: 03 Jul 2012 11:23 PM PDT Toshiba has been fined a massive $87 million for LCD price fixing, the company was found to be guilty of price fixing by a jury in San Francisco, and the fine is made up of monies to be paid to manufacturers and also consumers. Toshiba has been found liable to the tune of $17 million for manufacturers and $70 million for consumers, although Toshiba has said that it doesn’t expect to pay the fines as other defendants in the lawsuit have already paid settlements which are more than the fine.

| Google Pulls Galaxy Nexus From Google Play Store Posted: 03 Jul 2012 11:09 PM PDT We recently heard that Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone had been banned from sale in the US, after a recent court ruling, Samsung is appealing the decision, but it looks like Google have now removed the Galaxy Nexus from their Google Play Store. According to the guys over at The Verge, who spoke to Google, the Galaxy Nexus has indeed been removed from sale from the Google Play Store, although Google wouldn’t give any specifics on why it had been removed.
