| Pink Nokia Lumia 900 For AT&T Announced Posted: 09 Jul 2012 08:57 AM PDT Nokia has announced that it is launching a pink version of its Lumia 900 smartphone with US mobile carrier AT&T, the device will be exclusive to AT&T and will go on sale from the 15th of July. | Windows 8 Coming In October, RTM In August Posted: 09 Jul 2012 07:16 AM PDT Microsoft has announced that Windows 8 RTM (Release to Manufacturing) will land in the first week of August, and Windows 8 will be released in October 2012. The news was announced by Microsoft’s Tami Reller at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Canada today, and he said that Windows 8 should be released by late October.

| LG Working On New Quad Core L9 Smartphone Processor Posted: 09 Jul 2012 07:08 AM PDT It looks like LG is the latest company who has their own smartphone processor in the works, according to a recent report LG is working on a new L9 quad core processor for their future smartphones. The LG L9 processor is an ARM based chip and is expected to launch in a new LG Android smartphone in September, and the device will also use LG’s True HD smartphone display.

The team was able to pass 50-60w of power through 10 cm of concrete and tyres, (the same concrete used for roads in Japan) to power a light bulb, in the life size demonstration. The Sony Xperia Go is designed to be a rugged smartphone, and it is waterproof and dust proof and conforms to the IP67 rating, it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Sony will release an Android 4.0 update for the device in the future.

| Heat Damage On Samsung Galaxy S III Was Caused By External Energy Posted: 09 Jul 2012 02:57 AM PDT Some of our readers will remember the case of the damaged Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone from a few weeks ago, the owner of the device reported that the handset has suffered from some sort of heat damage. Samsung investigated the issue, and have now issued a statement confirming that the damage to the device was caused by external energy, it turns out someone put the device in a microwave, and this is how the damage occurred.

As a reminder the Nokia 808 PureView features Symbian Belle, and a 4 inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels, processing is provided by a 1.3GHz single core processor and comes with 16GB of built in storage, plus a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards.

| US Court Lifts Samsung Galaxy Nexus Ban For Now Posted: 09 Jul 2012 01:43 AM PDT Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus smartphone was banned from sale in the US last week, and now the court has lifted the ban of the handset on a temporary basis, the ban was lifted after an appeal by Samsung. Google and Samsung are working on releasing the Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and modifications to the devices software which are expected to bypass the alleged Apple patent infringements.

| Samsung To Launch Windows RT Tablet In October Posted: 09 Jul 2012 01:14 AM PDT Samsung has been doing very well with their Android based tablets, and now it would appear that the company has some other tablets in the works, which will be released later this year, although instead of Android these new tablets will come with Windows RT. According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Samsung is working on a Windows RT based tablet, and the device is expected to launch in October, of course this has yet to be confirmed by Samsung.

| Foxconn Nano PCs AT-5600 And AT-5250 Become Official Posted: 09 Jul 2012 01:08 AM PDT Foxconn first unveiled their new Nano PC format back in May with the unveiling of the Intel equipped AT-5300, and AMD equipped AT-5600. Now Foxconn has unveiled a new addition to their Nano PC range in the form of the AT-5250 and made the AT-5600 official. The AT-5600 will still be equipped with AMD's E450 APU, and the new AT-5250 will be equipped with an Atom D2550 at 1.86 Ghz, supported by up to 4GB memory.

| Amazon Kindle Fire 2 Coming In Q3 With Improved Display Posted: 09 Jul 2012 01:01 AM PDT The last thing we heard about the new Kindle Fire 2 tablet was that the device was expected to launch in August, and now according to a recent report by All Things D, the device will launch in quarter three, which could mean August or September. All Things D are reporting that the Kindle Fire 2 will feature an improved display over the existing model, the existing Kindle Fire comes with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, and the new model will apparently feature a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

| Samsung Galaxy Beam Lands In The UK Posted: 09 Jul 2012 12:44 AM PDT Some of our readers will remember the Samsung Galaxy Beam that was announced at MWC 2012 back in February, it looks like the handset is now available in the UK SIM free with a number of retailers. As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy Beam comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features a 4 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels, there is also front and rear facing cameras.

| Nokia’s PureView Technology Headed To Their Lumia Windows Phone’s Very Soon Posted: 09 Jul 2012 12:36 AM PDT Last month, Nokia’s Chris Webber confirmed that Nokia would bring their PureView technology to their Lumia Windows Phone devices, and now Nokia’s VP of worldwide developer relations, Richard Kerris has revealed some more details about PureView for their Lumia handsets. Speaking in an interview with Neowin, Kerris said that Nokia’s PureView technology would be available on new Nokia Lumia handsets ‘very soon’, no specific date was given, although we suspect some of Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 devices will be the first to use their PureView technology.

| SIM Free Sony Xperia Tipo Lands In The UK Next Month For £135 Posted: 09 Jul 2012 12:22 AM PDT Sony announced the Xperia Tipo last month, and now we have some details on when the handset will be available in the UK, the SIM free version of the handset will land in the UK in August and will retail for £134.98 including taxes, and it is now available to pre-order. As a reminder, the Sony Xperia Tipo features a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, and processing is provided by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

| Verizon Galaxy S III Launch Delayed Until June 12th Posted: 08 Jul 2012 11:33 PM PDT If you are waiting to get your hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon in the US, you may have to wait a few days more, last week Verizon announced that the device would be available on their network from the 10th of July. Now it would appear that the launch of the Galaxy S III on Verizon has now been delayed for a couple of days and the handset will launch on the 12th of July.
