Omrom MEMS Thermal Sensor Unveiled (video)

Omron has created a new type of thermal sensor which can be used for a number of new applications within hand held devices, such as smartphones.

As well as being able to check heat within surrounding objects, the new sensor can also be used for motion detection and attached to a PC for access control as an example. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Rumored iPhone 5 Front Panel Leaked

We have already seen some leaked parts of what are reported to be for the new iPhone 5, and now we have another one, this one is rumored to be the front panel of the new iPhone 5.

The photo below is apparently for the front panel of the new iPhone 5, and it was discovered by the guys over at Apple.Pro, and the photo shows a larger display than the existing iPad, with an apparent 16:9 ratio.

Human-spider hybrid boss character for Resident Evil 6 leaked

Thanks ESRB. The ratings board has let slip one of the characters from the game. And not just any character. A boss. According to the ESRB, one of the game's bosses has been described by them as such: “One female boss character (a human-spider hybrid) is depicted nude—though without any discernible details (no nipples or genitalia); during one attack move, she briefly caresses her breasts while straddling on players' character.”

Skype confirms bug that sends messages to the wrong contacts

What if when you sent a message to someone, it had a very good chance of going to someone else in your contact list? That would be pretty scary right? That what some Skype users are reporting. They say that after an update in June, instant messages have repeatedly and unintentionally been forwarded to random people in their contact lists.

Deadpool Video Game Coming from Activision

Verizon Galaxy S III To Get Unlocked Bootloader Via OTA Update

Samsung announced last week that they would be releasing a developer edition of the Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon Wireless, the cost of the device is $599.99, and this was apparently being done as Verizon would not offer the bootloader unlocker tool for the handset on contract.

Now it would appear that Verizon will offer the bootloader unlock tool, as one customer of Verizon has received an email from them confirming this, you can see the Verizon email below.

Researchers Create $35 Eye Motion Controller For Computers (video)

Researchers from the Imperial College London have been able to create a low budget eye motion tracking device. Using off-the-shelf components to create a device that allows users to control a computer with simply their eye movement.

Its not the first eye motion controller device of its kind, but its definitely the first to be made with stock components and for a budget of just $35.

HTC Desire HD Android 4.0 ICS Update Cancelled (Rumor)

When HTC announced its listed of devices that would be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, one of the handsets on the list was the HTC Desire HD.

We were expecting the HTC Desire HD to receive the Android 4.0 update this month, but now it would appear that the update may have been actually cancelled, although as yet this had not been confirmed by HTC.

Sky Now TV Service LaunchingTomorrow

Halo 4 Limited Edition Xbox 360 Hits The UK November 6th For £269

On the weekend Microsoft announced a new limited edition Halo 4 Xbox 360 console bundle, which will launch in the US in November, and now we have some UK pricing for the device.

XPad $81 Android 4.0 Tablets Announced

Simmtronics has this week announced the launch of the world’s most affordable Android tablet in the form of the 7-inch Xpad costs only $81 and features a Cortex Arm 8 processor.

Sony Xperia Tipo Appears At The FCC

Last of Us Bill’s Safe House Cinematic Trailer (video)

Sony and developer Naughty Dog have released a new cinematic trailer for their upcoming new game, “The Last of Us“, which will be a PS3 exclusive when its launched later this year.

RIM Ordered To Pay $147 Million In Patent Dispute

More bad news for RIM this morning, as the company has been ordered to pay a total of $147 million in a patent dispute with Mformation technologies, over apparent patent infringements relating to RIM’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server software.

RIM has been ordered by a court to pay Mformation $8 for each unit of its BlackBerry Enterprise Server software that it has sold, and RIM has sold a total of 18.4 million units.

Apple To Announce The iPhone 5 On August 7th (Rumor)

We are expecting Apple to launch their iPhone 5 around September or October of this year, which would be twelve months on from the launch of the iPhone 4S, as it went on sale in October 2011.

Now according to a recent report by KnowYourMobile, Apple may announce the iPhone 5 at a Keynote speech on the 7th of August, of course this has yet to be confirmed by Apple.

Samsung Galaxy S III Developer Edition Appears On Samsung’s Website

Last week we heard that Samsung would be launching a developer edition of the Samsung Galaxy S III for Verizon Wireless in the US, and now the device has turned up on Samsung’s website, although it isn’t available for sale just yet.

The Samsung Galaxy S III developer edition for Verizon will feature an unlockable bootloader, this will not be available on the normal version of the Galaxy S III with Verizon.

CyanogenMod 9 Arrives On Google Nexus Q (video)

Google announced their new Nexus Q streaming media player at the end of last month at the annual Google I/O event, and runs Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.

Nokia Drops Lumia 900 To $49.99 On AT&T

LogMeIn Cubby Cloud Storage Enters Next Beta Development Stage With 1GB Referral Rewards

LogMeIn first launched its new cloud storage service back in April of this year, at the start of its early beta stage of development. Since then LogMeIn has been developing their cloud storage competitor called Cubby to take on the likes of Sugar Sync, Dropbox and Live Mesh.

Apple Asks US Retailers To Remove Banned Samsung Devices

Samsung and Apple are currently battling it out in a court case in the US, which is scheduled to take place later this month, a number of Samsung devices have been banned from sale before the case, which include the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and the Galaxy Nexus, although the Galaxy Nexus is now back on sale with modified software.

Now according to Foss Patents, Apple has been contacting a number of retailers in the US, and demanding that they remove the banned Samsung devices from their store shelves.

Apple Launching OS X Mountain Lion July 25th (Rumor)

According to the guys over at 9 to 5 Mac, Apple has something planned for its stores on the 25th of July, as Apple store staff in the US and other countries will be working overnight on the 24th of July.

It looks like Apple may be about to launch the next version of OS X, Mountain Lion, on the 25th of July, Apple had previously said that it would launch in July.
