Awesome Drag Race between 60s and 89 Batmobile

I was never a fan of the original 60s Batman series. It seemed like it was constantly on in the summers when I was a kid. I did watch the 89 Tim Burton movie and found it to cartoonish and over-the-top for my taste. I’m a much bigger fan of the gritty Christian Bale version of Batman.

New iPad 3 Installed In A Ford F150 (Video)

Last year we saw the iPad 2 being installed inside the dash of a Ford 150, and now the guys from SoundMan Car Audio are back with their latest in vehicle iPad install using the new iPad 3.

The video below shows the new iPad installed in a Ford F150, and it works with Ford’s Sync system, they are also using an iPhone and Siri along with the Ford system.

Apple Responds New iPad Reported Heat Issues

There have been a number of reports over th last few days that Apple’s new iPad runs hotter than the previous version, with some reports saying that the device runs 10 degrees hotter than the iPad 2.

Kinect-a-Sketch (video)

The guys over at Waterloo labs have been busy again this month and combined a Microsoft Kinect controller and an old school Etch-a-Sketch to create a unique mod. The system allows you to control the Etch-a-Sketch simply by standing in front of the Kinect, allowing you to use a huge pencil or even just your hand to control the Etch-a-Sketch and draw.

Windows Phone Overtakes Symbian In The UK

According to a recent report from Kantar Worldpanel, Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform has overtaken Symbian here in the UK, although the report shows that Microsoft’s mobile platform still only makes up a small percentage of overall smartphones.

The period covered in the report are the twelve weeks up to the 19th of February 2012, and Symbian has now dropped down to 2.4 percent of the smartphone market, where as Windows Phone has now risen to 2.5 percent of the market.

New Seagate Technology Makes 60TB Hard Drives A Reality

Seagate has announced this week that they have become the first hard drive manufacturer to achieve the milestone storage density of 1 terabit per square inch, or 1 trillion bits) per square inch. The new technology now paves the way for hard drive to expand in size from today 3TB drive up to a massive 60TB in size, over the next 10 years.

Homemade Augmented Reality Heads Up Display

Matt from my20percent decided he wanted to make his own augmented reality heads up display, and to do so he used a baseball cap, some fresnel lenses, a plastic mirror, and a HTC Desire Z Android smartphone.

On top of that Matt used some other random office supplies to complete his project, and the display shows the images about 50cm from the wearers eyes.

Sprint Galaxy Nexus Coming April 15th

In App Adverts Found To Drain Smartphone Battery Life

According to a recent report by Abhinav Pathak, a computer scientist at the Purdue University in Indiana, one of the cause of battery drain on smartphones may be down to free applications that have adverts.

The team at the university have been testing out free applications that come with adverts and have discovered that around 10 to 30 percent of the energy used by the application was spent powering the applications core functions.

Pirate Bay Plans To Use Low Orbit Server Drones To Host Site

BBC iPlayer Lands On The Xbox 360

The BBC has launched their popular BBC iPlayer on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console, and according to the BBC it is the only UK content provider to offer its TV shows free on the Xbox.

The service works in a similar way to the web and iPad versions, and you can catch up on previous BBC TV shows, and the app also works with Microsoft’s Kinect and can be controlled with hand gestures.

Apple Sells Three Million New iPads

Apple’s iPad went on sale last Friday the 16th of March, and now Apple has released some sales figures of their new third generation iPad, and as Apple’s CEO Tim cook said yesterday the new iPad has broken Apple’s previous records.

Apple has announced that they have sold a total of three million of the new iPad since it went on sale last week, that is pretty impressive in just under four days.
