Latest iPad Jailbroken, More Work Needed

Well that didn’t take long, the newest iPad on Apple’s line-up has not been officially out for one full day and it has already been jailbroken, care of MuscleNerd of the Dev-Team. There’s no public release yet and even MuscleNerd admits there’s more work to be done, but they seem to have found a way to have the latest iPad, running on iOS 5.1, to be jailbroken in such a short span of time.

New iPad 3 Camera Sample Photos

Earlier we showed you some hands on photos of the new iPad 3, along with some photos of the new Retina display, and now we have some sample photos which were taken with the camera on the new iPad 3.

The camera on the iPad 3 is quite an improvement over the one on the iPad 2, it features a 5 megapixel iSight camera which is capable of recording full HD video in 1080p at 30 frames per second, have a look at the sample photos taken with the new iSight camera on the iPad 3 below.

We just showed you some hands on photos of the new iPad 3, and now we have some more which give you a closer look at the new Retina display on the iPad 3.

At first glance the Retina display on the iPad 3 is amazing, it has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, which is double that of the original iPad and the more recent iPad 2.

Apple’s new iPad went on sale earlier today, and ours has just arrived here at the Geeky Gadgets office, so here are a few photos of the new 3rd generation Apple iPad.

As a reminder the new iPad 3 features a Retina display which has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels, and it also features a new processor, the Apple A5x and comes with 1GB of RAM, plus 4G LTE, although that doesn’t work here in the UK as their are no 4G networks as yet.

Skyrim 1.5 Beta Update Available Via Steam

Bethesda has rolled out a new 1.5 beta update for its Skyrim game this week which is now available for gamers to download and try via Steam. The now available Skyrim 1.5 beta update brings with it new kill cams for ranged and magic attacks. As well as new kill moves and animations for melee attacks.

LibreOffice 3.5.1 Update Rolls Out

The Document Foundation has today released a new update to its LibreOffice taking the software to version 3.5.1. The new update released today is the first maintenance release of the new LibreOffice 3.5 open source office suite of tools.

The new LibreOffice 3.5.1 update brings with it a number of tweaks and fixes for the most important issues experienced within the 3.5 release. The Document Foundation expected this release to be most appealing to enterprise users of their software.

Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 Headed To The US

Samsung announced the new Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 PMP player last September, and now it looks like Samsung are about to launch the device in the US, according to the guys over at Engadget.

As a reminder the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 features a 3.6 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and processing is provided by a 1GZ Hummingbird processor.

Elder Scrolls, Skyrim Style Online MMO To Be Announced By Bethesda This May

Skyrim fans might be pleased to learn that its been unveiled today that Bethesda and ZeniMax Online Studios is set to announce a new Elder Scrolls Online MMO game in May 2012.

The new information has come via the Tom Guide website who was contacted by an unnamed industry source, who revealed the new MMO and a few details.

Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.0 ICS Update Delayed?

Samsung had previously announced that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for their Galaxy Note smartphone would be released in the first quarter of 2012, which would mean it should land by the end of March.

Now it would appear that the update may be delayed, as a recent post from Samsung Norway on their Facebook page, states that the update will come in quarter two.

The new Max Payne 3 game which is currently being developed by Rockstar Games, will combine both cinematic cut scenes and gameplay without ever showing a loading screen.

Snap Folding Skateboard (video)

If you are looking for a handy way to carry a skateboard, without the need for specially designed luggage. You might be interested in this foldable skateboard called the Snap.

As you can see from the image below the design of the Snap Skateboard allows you to fold over both ends making the footprint smaller. Enabling you to fit the skateboard into smaller bags for easier transportation. Watch the video after the jump to see Snap in action.

Awesome Samsung Galaxy Note Stop Motion (Video)

Have a look at this cool stop motion video which was created using the Samsung Galaxy Note and their new S-Pen, it was created with a total of 4,000 individual pictures which were drawn by hand by Samsungmobilerdom.

We suspect it may have taken quite a while to draw those 4,000 pictures and put this video together,definitely one of the coolest stop motion videos we have seen in a while.

Dutch website Focus Media has managed to get their hands on a pre-production Samsung NX20 camera and snapped a few shots of the still to be officially announced new mirror less camera.

The new Samsung NX20 is equipped with a 20.3-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor, ISO 100-12,800, with a 3.0-inch VGA AMOLED display on the rear for menus, control and viewing.

Lenovo To Release First Windows 8 Tablet?

According to a recent report by The Verge, Lenovo is looking to be the first manufacturer to release a Windows 8 tablet later this year, and Lenovo apparently thinks Windows 8 will ship in October.

We heard previously that Microsoft is expected to ship Windows 8 some time in the fall of 2012, and whilst Lenovo didn’t release any details about any of their Windows 8 tablets, they did show one off at CES, the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga which you can see below.

We have been hearing rumors for a while that this years new MacBook Pro range will feature an ultra thin design, similar to that of Apple’s MacBook Air.

Steve Wozniak Waits In Line For The New iPad 3 (Video)

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was spotted at the Westfield Mall in Century City, California, by Shira Lazar from Whats Trending, waiting in line for the new iPad 3.

This week as expected PayPal has unveiled their new “PayPal Here” credit card payment dongle for mobile devices. Along the same lines as Square, started by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey and launched back in 2010.

The new PayPal Here dongle is triangular in shape and PayPal will charge merchants a flat fee of 2.7 percent for each transaction, process through the device.

Apple’s iPhone Tops Customer Satisfaction Survey

According to the latest smartphone customer satisfaction survey from JD Power, Apple’s iPhone has once again taken the top spot, which is the 7th time in a row that Apple has been top of their survey.

JD Power surveyed 7,080 smartphone owners, and Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S came out top with a score of 839 points out of 1,000, in second place was HTC with a score of 789.

Apple’s new iPad 3 has gone on sale around the world, and Apple has now listed which apps support the new iPads Retina display which has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

We have featured a number of different cases for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is a Kickstarter project and it called the JuiceTank.

The JuiceTank features a built in wall charger, which means you can just plug your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S directly into a wall outlet to charge your device, which seems like a cool idea.

New iPad 3′s Battery Is 70 Percent Larger Than iPad 2

We heard last week that the new iPad 3 is expected to feature a 70 percent larger battery than the one in the iPad 2, and this has now been confirmed by the guys from iFixit, who recently took the new iPad 3 apart.

As we mentioned in our previous article, the iPad 2 comes with a 25 watt hour Li-ion battery, where as the new iPad 3 features a 42.5 watt hour battery, which works out at an increase of 70 percent.

Microsoft will launch Windows Phone 7.5 Tango in China next week on the 21st of March, and now it would appear that the first Windows Phone 7.5 Tango ROM has been leaked.

The guys over at the XDA Developers have managed to get their hands on the new Windows Phone 7.5 Tango ROM, and there are already ROM’s available for a couple of devices with include the HTC HD2 and the Samsung Omnia 7.

HTC One X Headed To O2 UK April 5th

UK mobile carrier O2 has confirmed on Twitter that they will start selling the new HTC One X here in the UK on the 5th of April, although the haven’t as yet revealed any details on pricing and also no details on the contracts it will be available with.

This is the date we heard previously as Amazon had it listed on their website with a launch date of the 5th of April with a SIM free price of £530.

Nokia announced the new Nokia Lumia 610 at last months MWC, and the device is the companies first budget Windows Phone device, although it looks like it will come with a feature that some of the more expensive Nokia Windows Phone devices don’t have.

Nokia have listed the device on their website, and it looks like it will have a WiFi hotpsot feature that will let you share the handsets connection with up to five devices.
