Facebook Interest Lists Turn Your Profile into a Personal Newspaper

Facebook has announced that it will be launching Interest Lists over the coming weeks. It appears that these Interest Lists will turn up on people’s accounts randomly and some may get them early, while others have to wait a while. This is sort of an expansion to the interests Facebook already allows you to choose.

Tobii Shows Off Latest Eye Tracking Gear

Controlling the mouse and the computer simply by looking where you want to go is already here to some extent thanks to a company called Tobii. Last year the company was showing off its eye-tracking tech and even had the technology inside a Lenovo notebook. This year at CeBIT 2012 the company was showing off its latest eye tracking technology.

War of the Roses First Gameplay Trailer Unveiled (video)

Fatshark and Paradox have just unveiled the first gameplay trailer for the new War Of the Roses game currently being developed by the two companies. War Of the Roses is like a first person shooter but based in the civil war era of 15th century England.

During which two rival branches of the Royal House of Plantagenet: House of Lancaster and House of York battled it out. Watch the video after the jump to see the first glimpse of the what you can expect from the gameplay.

Dark Meadow Going Free On iOS And Android Devices (video)

Phosphor Games’ have announced this week that they will be re-launching their Dark Meadow game as a free title from next week. Allowing gamers to enjoy the atmospheric game without any outlay.

However if you want to play the entire game there will be an “exclusive upgrade” fee to fully unlock it, of $5.99. At GDC 2012 Chip Sineni explained to Joystiq that the reason behind the price shift was because “We just want to get the game in as many hands as possible,”. Parrot AR. Drone Controlled By Epson Moverio BT-100 (Video)

Thomas Sohmers decided to combine a Parrot AR.Drone along with an Epson Moverio BT-100, which is a 3D head mounted display, and it is used to to simultaneously view the AR.Drone and an overlay of its video feed.

The Epson Moverio BT-100 also comes with a handheld controlled which runs Google’s Android OS and this was used to control the AR.Drone, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Google Fixes Chrome Pwnium Security Flaw In Less Than 24 Hours

Less than 24 hours after security flaws which were found and awarded $60,000 by Google at the recent Pwnium event has already been patched up ad fixed. The new security update which has patched the security flaw discovered by Russian student and hacker Sergey Glazunov. Has already been rolled out using Google Chromes automatic update feature.

Seiko Astron GPS Solar Watch Announced

Seiko has added a new watch to its range with the launch of the Seiko Astron, although this one is a little different than some of their previous timepieces as it is the worlds first GPS solar watch.

The watch will automatically reset to the correct time when you change time zones, and it features a low powered GPS receiver, which wont use up the watches battery.

iPhone Tiltpod Keyring Stand (video)

Sony Ericsson Windows Phone Prototype Appears On eBay

Sony Mobile Communications, which was previously Sony Ericsson has yet to release a Windows Phone smartphone, but now a Sony Ericsson Windows Phone prototype device has appeared on eBay.

The device is listed as a Sony Ericsson Windows 7 Julie prototype, and it comes with an 8 megapixel camera and a Qwerty keyboard, those seem to be the only main details listed about the device.

Android Market Terms Prohibits In App Use Of Third Party Payment Services

It has been revealed this week that Google is putting pressure on developers to use its own Google Wallet payment system. Rather than using third party in-app payment options for their creations, such as PayPal, Zong and Boku. Which would violate the Google Market’s terms of use.

The news has been reported by Reuters who where contacted by a number of developers, investors and executives from mobile gaming and payment services revealing the conditions and situation with Google.

HTC One X Rooted Ahead Of Release

The HTC One X hasn’t even gone on sale yet, the device will be available withing a couple of weeks, but Android developer Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo has already cracked the HTC One X’s software.

He has also released a tool that will let you root the HTC One X, called Superboot which writes a boot image to the device, and that is used to root the handset.

Dropbox Launches New Minimalist Design With Photo Viewer, Action Bar And More

Apple Releases iPad 3 iSight Camera Sample Photos

Apple’s new iPad, or the iPad 3 comes with a 5 megapixel camera that is capable of recording full high definition video in 1080p, and now Apple has released some photo samples which have been taken with the new iPad’s camera.

Red Bull Capsule Ready For Record Breaking 120,000ft Skydiving Attempt

Red Bull’s capsule which is part of their recording breaking attempt to set a new skydiving record is now finished and ready to go. The Red Bull Stratos project hopes to carry Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner up to the upper reaches of the stratosphere to 120,000 ft. Where he will then exit the capsule and skydive back down to earth.

iPad 3 Features a 70 Percent Larger Battery Than iPad 2?

When Apple announced the new iPad 3, which comes with 4G LTE, they also announced that it would feature similar battery life to the iPad 2, although the 4G on the iPad 3 will use much more battery power than 3G on the iPad 2.

It looks like the iPad 3 features a battery which is 70 percent bigger than that of the iPad 2, which would explain why the device is capable of running for almost the same amount of time over 4G as the iPad 2 over 3G.

Xbox 720 To Ditch Optical Disk, Coming In 2013

We have heard a number of rumors about Microsoft’s next generation Xbox gaming console, which may be called the Xbox 720, and now according to a recent report, the Xbox 720 may lose the optical disk.

According to the guys over at MCV, Microsoft has been telling its partners that the new Xbox console will not include a disc drive, and instead the device will offer compatibility with some sort of interchangeable solid state card storage.

UK iPad 3 Shipping Changed To 2 – 3 Weeks

It looks like Apple m,ay have sold out of its initial pre-orders of the iPad 3 for delivery on launch day, next Friday the 16th of March, as if you now orders an iPad 3 from Apple’s website here in the UK the shipping estimate has been changed to 2 – 3 weeks.

In the US there are still some models up for pre-order with a delivery date of the 16th of March, although some AT&T models are showing a date of the 19th of March as we mentioned yesterday.

Volvo Unveils Pedestrian Airbag (Video)

Volvo is well known for making safe cars, and now the company has come up with a pedestrian airbag for its vehicles, which is designed to protect pedestrians when they are hit by a vehicle.

The video below shows the pedestrian airbag in action, and as you can see when a pedestrian is hit by the vehicle, the airbag is deployed to cover the vehicles windscreen.

CRTouch Glove Project Transforms Old CRT Monitors Into Touchscreens (video)

A new system called CRTouch has been developed by three students from the University of Hasselt in Belgium, Dieter Meeus, Miel Truyen and Nand Truyen. The CRTouch system allows touchscreen capabilities to be added to a old CRT monitor.

The CRTouch concept uses a Altera DE2-70 board and a few phototransistors in the fingertips of a glove to detect the electron beam created by the CRT monitor, to create the touchscreen.

Samsung Files Galaxy Emerge, Stellar And Halo Smartphone Trademarks

It looks like Samsung has a few more smartphones in the works to add to its Galaxy range, as a number of new trademarks which have recently been filed by Samsung have been revealed.

The trademarks were filed with the USPTO on the 2nd of March 2012, and the filings are related to mobile phones and smartphones and were for three separate devices.

BioShock Infinite : Heavy Hitters Trailer Released (video)

OnLive’s Windows Virtual Desktop May Violate Microsoft’s Liscensing Agreement

OnLive recently launched a new app for the iPad that would let you use a virtual Windows desktop on your tablet, and now it would appear that Microsoft and OnLive are in discussions on whether the use of Windows in the app violates Microsoft’s licensing agreement.

Microsoft has posted on their blog about the issue, and have said they are in discussions with OnLive regarding their Desktop and Desktop plus applications.

Google’s Nexus Tablet, Made By Asus Coming In May (Rumor)

We recently heard a rumor that Asus may be building the first Google branded Android tablet, and now according to a recent report from Digitimes, the Google Nexus tablet could launch as soon as may of this year.

According to the report Asus and Google are working on a 7 inch Android tablet, which is aimed at taking on the Amazon Kindle Fire, and the device is expected to retail for between $199 and $249.

Future Raspberry PI Shippments May Be Delayed

The first Raspberry PI computers went on sale recently, and the first batch of computers was sold out within a few hours, and now the Raspberry PI Foundation has announced that there may be a slight delay in future batches of the device due to a manufacturing hiccup.

The suffered a minor problem in manufacturing which has now been fixed, and the existing orders are expected to ship on time, but there could be a slight delay in the next back as they need to source some more parts.

Comcast Not Keen On Teaming Up With Netflix

Netflix said it is willing to have its service linked with cable and satellite providers but it seems it will need to be more convincing if it wants to make it a reality. Bioshock For PS Vita Going For “Show, Don’t Tell”

Sony wants you to know that Bioshock for the PlayStation Vita is being worked on. They asked Ken Levine, the driving force behind the series if he would kindly tell everyone about it. “We’re trying to figure that [announcement timing] out. I ideally wouldn’t have talked about the Vita game when I did. It was understandably important that, you know, Sony wanted us to share that information,” he told Joystiq.

Valve Not Making Steam Box Console/PC

As much as the gaming public would love to see Valve try their hand at fixing PC gaming hardware, it seems the Steam Box rumours are just that: rumours. Valve has apparently built Steam Box prototypes, but only to test the upcoming Steam Big Picture mode designed for PCs hooked up to TVs. At least according to Valve’s Doug Lombardi.
