Sony Tablet S Getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Sony has confirmed that the Sony Tablet S will be getting updated to the latest version of Google’s Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the news comes from a Sony Employee who posted the following on their support forums.

Samsung Galaxy S And Galaxy Tab May Get ‘Lite’ Version Of Android 4.0

We heard the other day that Samsung were reconsidering releasing the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the original Samsung Galaxy S and Samsung Galaxy Tab.

And now it would appear that the devices may not get the full version of Android 4.0, instead the update could include some of the features of Ice Cream Sandwich, sort of a ‘Lite’ version or ‘ValuePack’ version of ICS.

Microsoft Testing Windows Phone SMS Bug Fix

We recently heard that Microsoft were working on a software update that would fix the SMS security flaw found in Windows Phone smartphone devices, and now according to a recent report Microsoft is testing out the update.

This would mean that if the testing of the update goes OK, Microsoft could release the update shortly, and if Microsoft finishes testing the update this week, we could see it launched some time next week.

Apple’s Siri Powered HDTV To Offer Custom TV Subscriptions?

We know that Apple is working on their own HDTV, which is rumored to be controlled by Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, Siri, and we are expecting Apple to launch their HDTV some time next year.

Now According to a recent report Apple may off custom TV channel subscriptions, where you would be able to subscribe to the TV channels you want, and if this is the case it would be good news for consumers.

Samsung Intends To Sell 374 Million Mobile Phones In 2012

Samsung Mobile has had an excellent year, with the company beating its target of 325 million mobile phones sold in 2011, mainly thanks to the popularity of Samsung’s Galaxy range of smartphones.

Now Samsung has set themselves a new target for 2012, the company intends to sell over 374 million mobile phones next year, a 15 percent increase on this years target.

Apple To Launch Two iPads In 2012?

According to a recent report by Digitimes, Apple intends to release two iPads in 2012, the first one would be a high end iPad 3 with a 9.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, dual LED light bars and a new Apple produced A6 processor, plus an 8 megapixel camera.

The report also says that the the other iPad that Apple will release will have similar specifications, and it will come with a 5 megapixel camera and will be cheaper that the first model.

Samsung Ships 1 Million Galaxy Note Smartphones

It looks like Samsung may have another popular handset, besides the hugely popular Samsung Galaxy S II, the Samsung Galaxy Note, as the company has just announced that they have shipped over 1 million Galaxy Note devices.

The Samsung Galaxy note isn’t your average smartphone, described by Samsung as a combination of a tablet and a smartphone the handset features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

LG To Show Off 84 Inch 4K LCD TV At CES 2012

Yesterday we heard that LG would be launching a new 55 inch OLED TV at CES 2012 in January, and now LG has announced that they will also display a new ultra HD TV at CES.

This new ultra HD TV from LG measures 84 inches and features a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, and it comes with LG’s Smart TV and also their Cinema 3D and also works with their new voice controlled Magic Motion remote.
