Jedi Knight Rampages In Toys R Us, Is Arrested

Posted: 17 Dec 2011 09:07 AM PST

Get this: he was armed with two lightsabers. They might be able to deflect blaster shots, but pepper spray? Don’t count on it.

Nah, kidding. No pepper spray was used in the real incident over at Hillsboro, Portland, Oregon. According to local rag The Oregonian, a 33 year old man named David Allen Canterbury assaulted people with toy lightsabers at Toys R Us, prompting a 911 call. He then vacated the premises and tousled with the police, who wrestled him to the ground after their taser attempts were thwarted…by a guy with a couple of toy lightsabers.

When Tak Wak, the German company responsible for the tw700, was threshing out the specs for their latest creation, they no doubt wanted something more than a smartphone. It’s likely they figured rather than bringing your precious iPhone along whenever you’re on some adventure, why not go for the Android-powered tw700 instead? See, smartphones are just handhelds with apps. The tw700, however, is a different beast. A dedicated multi-function device that any hiker, mountaineer, and swashbuckling daredevil can use at will.

Inexpensive CamCrate Protects Your DSLR From Bumps And Scratches

Posted: 17 Dec 2011 08:55 AM PST

Ah, the vaunted CamCrate. It’s basically a sealed box for a DSLR just in case the owner is too squeamish about it getting scratched while taking pictures somewhere. The CamCrate is no laughing matter though, whatever ‘proof’ currently exists, be it water or fire or whatnot, the CamCrate is. Okay, maybe except nuclear-proof. But anything else—yeah, the CamCrate can survive it.

Introducing Glowbar, The Green Lantern Crowbar

Posted: 16 Dec 2011 01:24 PM PST

For starters, the title above is half-jesting. No, the Glowbar is not connected with the Green Lantern or the DC universe in any way. It’s just that: a glowing crowbar that happens to be, of all colors, green. The really weird part is, rather than market it as a glow in the dark tool for wrenching containers open, the promo copy emphasizes its usefulness as a zombie-fighting weapon. It tends to disorient the undead or something.
