Microsoft’s Windows Store Coming February 2012 Posted: 07 Dec 2011 01:07 AM PST As well as announcing that the Windows 8 public beta will be available in February, Microsoft has also announced that the Windows Store will launch in February of 2012, and Microsoft has shared some more details about the Windows Store. It looks like the deals with application developers for the Windows Store will be similar to what Apple offers, Microsoft will pay developers 70 percent of the revenue and keep 30 percent themselves, although the deal does look better as when a particular app reaches $25,000 in revenue, Microsoft will pay developers 80 percent of the revenue. RIM Forced To Drop BBX Name For New BlackBerry Platform Posted: 07 Dec 2011 12:29 AM PST Back in October RIM announced that their new software platform would be called BlackBerry BBX, unfortunately for RIM the BBX trademark was already owned by Basis International, who used the trademark for their own software platform. Android Market Hits 10 Billion Downloads Posted: 07 Dec 2011 12:19 AM PST Google has announced that the Android Market has hit a new milestone, there have now been over 10 billion downloads from the Android Market, and according to Google, the total downloads are growing at a rate of 1 billion downloads a month. This would mean that in 2012, Google is on target to double its 10 billion downloads to 20 billion by October of next year, and to celebrate this new milestone Google will be offering a new set of apps each day for just 10 cents each.
