| Verizon Galaxy Nexus Coming Friday? Posted: 06 Dec 2011 05:42 AM PST We are expecting the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus to finally go on sale in the US some time this week, and now it would appear that Friday may be the possible launch date for the Galaxy Nexus. According to an email and a PDF which has been posted on RootzWiki, Friday December the 9th will be the official launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.

| Amazon Kindle Fire Expected To Make Up 50 Percent Of Android Tablet In 2012 Posted: 06 Dec 2011 05:27 AM PST The Amazon Kindle Fire tablet only went on sale last month, and it looks like it could end up being one of the most popular Android tablets this year, and according to a recent report by analysts, the tablet is expected to make up 50 percent of the Android tablet next year. Robert Cihara, an Analyst with Evercore Partners thinks that the Amazon Kindle Fire will grab around 50 percent of the Android tablet market in 2012.

| Porsche Design BlackBerry P9981 Appears At The FCC Posted: 06 Dec 2011 05:13 AM PST The Porsche Design BlackBerry P9881 was announced back in October, and now the device has appeared at the FCC and it looks like it is headed to US mobile carrier AT&T. As a reminder the Porsche Design BlackBerry comes with a casing which is made from steel and leather, plus BlackBerry OS 7 and a single core 1GHz processor.

| New LG Prada Smartphones To Be Announced December 14th Posted: 06 Dec 2011 04:45 AM PST Recently LG announced that they had renewed their partnership with Prada to produce smartphones, and it looks like we will see the first new device on the 14th of December. LG has just sent out some invites to an LG Prada event which will take place in London on the 14th of December and we could possibly see more than one LG Prada branded smarrtphone at the event.

| Lenovo Announces X130e Notebook Posted: 06 Dec 2011 04:23 AM PST Lenovo has added another new notebook to their line up with the launch of the Lenovo X130e, which is an 11.6 inch notebook that comes with a choice of Intel and AMD processors. The Lenovo X130e is available with either an AMD Fusion E-300 and E450 processors of an Intel Core I3-2367M ULV processor, up to 8GB of RAM and a choice of either a 320GB or a 500GB hard drive.

| BBC iPlayer Arriving On Xbox 360 Consoles New Year Posted: 06 Dec 2011 04:18 AM PST Even though the BBC’s iPlayer application didn’t make it into the new Xbox 360 dashboard which has just been released. Microsoft have stated that they are still working with the BBC on content that will launch on Xbox 360 sometime in 2012. By the end of this month Microsoft will have added 40 applications worldwide to its Xbox 360 console. Including 14 in to the UK : Sky Go, Zune and Last.fm, and brand new apps, including Lovefilm, Muzu, 4oD, Demand 5 and YouTube. | Robot Arm Simulator Provides Pilots With 6G Force Experience (video) Posted: 06 Dec 2011 03:58 AM PST Over the years we have featured a number of simulators here on Geeky Gadgets, but a new one has been created by Australia's Deakin University which provides six degrees of freedom and can generate as much as 6G of force. The new simulator was built by the university's Center for Intelligent Systems Research (CISR) with support (presumably funding) from Australia's Department of Defence. | Samsung Shows Off Flexible Transparent OLED Display (Video) Posted: 06 Dec 2011 03:24 AM PST Samsung has shown us a few of their transparent displays before, and now we have a new video which shows hos these displays could be used in the future, which you can see below. The transparent flexible AMOLED display certainly looks very interesting, but I suspect we are probably a few years aways from seeing smartphones and tablets that looks like the one in the video.

| Verizon Galaxy Nexus To Retail For $299? Posted: 06 Dec 2011 02:57 AM PST We have heard previous rumors that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would cost $299 when it lands on Verizon, and now according to a recent report by the WSJ, this looks like it will be the correct pricing. Verizon has yet to officially announce how much the Galaxy Nexus will sell for on their network, and they still haven’t told us when the device will go on sale, but it is reported to cost $299 and you will have to sign up to a new two year contract with Verizon.

The iPhone 4S Elite old is produced by Stuart Hughes, we have seen a few of his blinged out gadgets before on the site and this iPhone 4S will set you back £6 million which works out at around $9.4 million US dollars.

| Meizu MX Gets Official, Coming In January 2012 Posted: 06 Dec 2011 02:22 AM PST We have been hearing quite a bit about the Meizu MX over the last few months, and Meizu has just confirmed that their latest Android smartphone will go on sale in China in January next year. We now get to find out the final specifications on the device, it will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, although Meizu has said that it will get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at a later date.

| HTC Flyer Gets Android Honeycomb Update Posted: 06 Dec 2011 02:13 AM PST It looks like the HTC Flyer is the latest Android tablet to get the Honeycomb update, as HTC has announced that they have started rolling out the update to the device, and it would appear that the 3G version of the tablet is getting the update first. The 3G version of the HTC Flyer has only been available in Europe, and owners of the WiFi only version will have to wait a bit longer to get the Android Honeycomb update for the device.

| Posted: 06 Dec 2011 02:06 AM PST Google has updated its iOS app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and the latest version brings a range of new features to the Google+ application for Apple’s iOS devices. The new Google+ app lets you upload full resolution photos direct from your iOS device to Google+, and Google has also added in a photo+1 feature and updated the search for the app as well as some bug fixes.

| Amazon Kindle Fire Suffering From WiFi Issues? Posted: 06 Dec 2011 01:52 AM PST It would appear that Amazon’s new Kindle Fire Android tablet is suffering from random WiFi issues, as there are a number of reports of users of the device being unable to connect to WiFi. According to what has been posted on the Amazon forum, the bug seems to be related to Kindle Fire tablets running version 6.0 and 6.1 of the Kindle Fire OS, and there could be a possible fix.

| Apple HDTV To Be Powered By A6 Processor? Posted: 06 Dec 2011 01:44 AM PST We have been hearing rumors for a while that Apple is working on their own HDTV, which is expected to feature Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, Siri, and now we have some more rumors about the device. According to the guys over at Smarthouse, who have apparently received some information form manufacturers involved in the project, Apple’s HDTV will be available in three different sizes ranging from 32 inch to 55 inch, and will be powered by a new Apple processor.

| Verizon Galaxy Nexus Won’t Feature Google Wallet? | Verizon Galaxy Nexus Headed To Stores? Posted: 05 Dec 2011 11:27 PM PST It looks like we could be getting closer to the release of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, as according to the guys from Droid Life the handsets are on their way to Verizon’s retail stores and may go on sale on the 9th of December. The photo below shows the Verizon Galaxy Nexus in its retail packaging, and whilst Verizon hasn’t officially announced when the device will be available it is looking more and more like it will launch this week.

| LG Announces Xnote Z330 Ultrabook Posted: 05 Dec 2011 11:18 PM PST The latest company to launch an ultrabook is LG, with the new LG Xnote Z330, and as you can see from the photos, LG has obviously been paying close attention to Apple’s MacBook Air. The LG Xnote Z330 features a 13.3 inch display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, and it comes with a choice of either an Intel Core i5-2467M or Core i7-2637M processor, 4GB or RAM and either a 120GB or 256GB solid state drive (SSD).
