SatPlus Chair Is A Satellite Dish To Sit On

In what amounts to an impressive exercise in clandestine design cleverness, the SatPlus Sat Chair has arrived in the online retail space for those badly in need of a satellite dish. The catch is pretty obvious: it’s shaped like a chair, so no one will suspect. Costing upwards of 200 quid, the SatPlus Sat Chair is meant for outdoor use and can be deployed in uneven ground and is being marketed as ‘ideal for discreet locations.’ That’s pretty cloak and dagger.

Surfing Company Outs Snow Paddle For Epic Adventures

Not so long ago, a Hawaiian company outed a ‘big stick,’ basically a paddle to accompany the age old art of boarding. The big stick was hardly an innovation, since its a traditional tool for boarders long before surfing became a fad for the wave obsessed. Sensing opportunity in the winter additional details,time, the ‘big stick’ makers Kahuna Creations have outed a snow version of their magical upright staff. It works like a paddle, except this time it has been tweaked to allow the wielder better mobility in the snow.

Jawbone Offers UP Buyers a Refund and Lets Them Keep the UP

Jawbone launched the UP wrist bracelet about a month ago. The cool bracelet is a device that is designed to help you get healthy by monitoring sleep, calories, distanced walked and more. The device launched last month and people quickly found that the UP didn't always work.

Lenovo X1 Arcade Dock Mod (video)

Modder Dean Liou has unveiled his latest creation using a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 laptop to create the fantastic Lenovo ArcadeDockX1 Mod. The arcade cabinet uses the 15 inch screen of the Lenovo X1 as the gaming display and the controls are connected via USB.

The ArcadeDockX1 cabinet is equipped with a flight stick and throttle making the whole design of the cabinet look fantastic. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action, and Liou provides you with a walk through of his ArcadeDockX1.

Over 1 Million Mobile Apps Available To Download

According to a recent report by Mobilewalla, there are now more than 1 million applications available to download across the major applications platforms, with Apple and their iOS App store in the top spot with 598,763 applications available.

In second place is Google’s Android Market, where there are a total of 325,156 applications available, and this is followed by the BlackBerry app store which has a total of 43,548 apps, and finally the Windows Marketplace which has 36,487 applications available to download.

Logic Pro 9 Digital Audio Software Arrives In Mac App Store

Apple has made a number of changes to its Logic music software versions, and has announced that it will discontinuing sales of its Logic Studio and Logic Express digital audio workstation packages “effective immediately,”. Instead Apple has now released Logic Pro 9 and MainStage 2 applications as separate applications, which are now available to purchase from the Apple Mac App Store.

Samsung’s Attempt To Have iPhone 4S Banned In France Denied

Apple and Samsung are suing each other in more that 20 separate court cases around the world, we heard this morning that Apple’s attempt to continue to have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 banned in Australia had been denied.

Now its Samsung’s turns, as a French court has denied Samsung’s request to have Apple’s new iPhone 4S banned in France, although Samsung is still trying to have the iPhone 4S banned in other countries, which include Australia, Japan and Italy.

Snappily App Enables 3D Photography On Your iPad 2 And iPhone

A new application called Snappily has been launched in the Apple iTunes App Store this week, that has been built to allow you to take and create 3D images with your iPad 2 and iPhone.

I’ve not had a chance to use the application yet so, I still am little unsure how it creates the 3D image without two cameras. But according to the iTunes App Store description there are a number of features and settings you can play with to create your 3D imagery.

Tamron Introduces New Sony NEX Lens

Tamron has this week introduced a new lens to its range which have been specifically designed to be used with Sony’s NEX range of cameras. The new Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 DI III VC lens is equipped with a E-Mount and a 62mm filter diameter and becomes the first to offer Sony NEX with a high powered zoom capability.

There is already an Alpha lens version available, but the new Tamron lens is equipped with a "step-motor" which is designed to align 100% with the contrast AF system of the NEX.

Nokia Lumia 710 Launches Worldwide Within Coming Weeks

The Nokia Lumia 710 was announced at the same time as the new Nokia Lumia 800, and now it looks like the device is about to go on sale from today in Taiwan, and in the next seven days it will also land in Singapore, Hong Kong, India and Russia.

Nokia has also said that the Lumia 710 will be rolled out globally within the coming weeks, and as we recently heard it is headed to T-Mobile in the US, we should get a US launch date some time next week.

Sony NEX-7 Gets Unboxed (Video)

The Sony Nex-7 was announced back in August, and Sony has just announced that it should be hitting stores some time this month, although initial production of the new NEX-7 will remain limited due to the recent floods in Thailand.

As a reminder the Sony NEX-7 is Micro Camera equipped with a 24.3 effective megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and boasts the worlds fastest (0.02 sec) release time lag, combined with a quick responsive auto focus.

iOS 5 Unteathered Jailbreak Gets Demoed (Video)

iPhone hacker pod2G has released a video of an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 running on an iPhone, which you can see below, although there are no details as yet on when the jailbreak will be released.

At the moment the only way iOS devices other than the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 can be jailbroken is with either a tethered or semi-tethered jailbreak, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Google Adds Carousel Views To Tablet Image Searches (video)

Google has been busy today rolling out a few new services, updates and applications today. Including their new Google Currents, magazine browser application and new additions to their Gmail, Contact and Google+ service to bring them even closer together.

HP To Decide What To Do With webOS Today

It looks like we could find out what HP plans to do with webOS some time later today, as according to a recent report by PreCentral, HP’s CEO Meg Whitman has reportedly called a meeting for today, which is scheduled for 10.30AM PDT to decide once and for all what the company will do with webOS.

It was announced a few week back that HP would make a decision on webOS, and now it looks like we may find out what HP will do with webOS and the 600 employees who are part of the webOS team.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Game Teaser Unveiled By BBC (video)

The BBC has today unveiled a brief teaser trailer for its new Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock game. Which is set to be arriving in early 2012, initially on Playstation 3; Playstation Vita and PC platforms.

The new game is being developed by Supermassive Games and will allow you to step in to the shoes of the Doctor and River Song as they explore the universe of Doctor Who over multiple time periods. Watch the brief teaser video after the jump to see it in action.

Verizon Droid Xyboard 10.1 And 8.2 Tablets Go On Sale

Verizon  Wireless has started selling the two new Motorola Xyboard tablets in the US, the Xyboard 10.1 and Xyboard 8.2, with the 8.2 inch version retailing for $429.99 and the 10.1 inch version retailing for $529.99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with Verizon.

The Xyboard 10.1 features a a 10.1 inch HD display and it comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb and a dual core 1.2GHz processor, plus 1GB of RAM and a choice of either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Goes On Sale In Canada

Whilst we are still waiting to find out when the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be available in the US, it looks more like next week now rather than today, our Canadian readers will be pleased to know that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is now available in Canada.

The Galaxy nexus is available in Canada will mobile carriers Bell and Virgin Mobile and the handset is available for $159 when you sign up to a new three year contract with either of the carriers.

Leica V-Lux 3 Superzoom Announced

Leica has announced the Leica V-Lux 3 Superzoom, which is basically the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 with Leica branding, and it comes with a 12.1 megapixel sensor, plus a 4.5-108-millimeter f/2.8-5.2 lens which is equivalent to 25mm to 600mm at 35mm.

Other specifications include full manual, aperture priority and shutter priority controls, and it also features Panasonic’s new CMOS sensor and imaging engine, and it can record full HD video in 1080p.

SPHERE 2 Mouse Unveiled

Following on from their previous mouse creation the SPHEREtouch. OreObject have this week unveiled their latest innovation in the form of the Sphere 2 mouse. Which could easily be mistaken for perfume packaging.

The OreObject SPHERE 2 mouse has been constructed from “surgical grade” stainless steel, and comes equipped with two buttons and a scroll wheel providing four way scrolling. Together with a tangle-free USB cord which can be detached after charging.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Ban Removed In Australia

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will finally go on sale in Australia, as Apple has now been denied an application to have the tablet banned in Australia by the Australian High Court.

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will hit the stores in Australia before Christmas, and have also confirmed pricing of the tablet.

Panasonic Confirms Android Smartphones Headed To Europe In March

Panasonic only sells its smartphones in Japan at the moment, a couple of weeks ago we heard that Panasonic may be launching some of its Android devices in Europe and the UK next year.

Panasonic has now officially announced that it will start selling its smartphones in Europe from next year, and the first model will be an Android device with a 4.3 inch OLED qHD display.

Samsung To Launch Retina Resolution Tablet Before Apple?

We have been hearing rumors over the last few months that next years iPad 3, would feature a much higher resolution display than the existing iPad, and now according to a recent report, Samsung may launch a high resolution tablet before Apple.

Apple is expected to launch the iPad 3 around March or April of 2012, but it would appear that Samsung has an 11.6 inch tablet in the works that will feature a display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution that is expected to be shown off at MWC 2011 in February.
