I don’t take many medications on a daily basis, in fact only take one. I have bad allergies and if I forget to take my allergy medicine, I can expect to spend the day sneezing and not being able to breathe out of my nose. You think I would remember to take it, but I forget all the time.

Canon 5D Mark III Rumored To Launch Next Week

The last thing we heard about the new Canon 5D Mark III, was that Canon’s latest DSLR would launch some time in March, and now according to the guys over at Canon Rumors, the Canon 5D Mark III will be announced next week either on the 27th or 28th of February.

The Canon 5D Mark III is expected to come with a 22 megapixel sensor and also feature a 61 point auto-focus system, up form a 19 pint AF system on the previous model and a 3.2 inch LCD display.

It looks like Opera’s mobile browser for mobile phones, Opera Mini is about to get a lot more popular, as Opera has just announced a partnership with Samsung, that will see Opera Mini preloaded onto a number of Samsung’s featurephones.

500px Photo Sharing Site Launches New Site Design

Only yesterday we mentioned that the photo sharing site Flickr was working on a new website design which it hoped to roll out very soon. To compete with the likes of Picasa, 500px, Instagram, together with social networks such as Facebook and Google+.

Well today 500px, one of Flickr’s competitors has beaten them to the hop, and launched their own new revamped website design. Which brings a new homepage with various different sizes of photos in various orientations.

Yesterday we saw a leaked photo and some specifications on the new Samsung Rugby Smart, the device is now official and it will be available with US mobile carrier AT&T from the 4th of March.

AT&T will be offering the Samsung Rugby Smart for $99.99 when you sign up to a new two year contract with the carrier and the device comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

HTC has been teasing what they are going to unveil at MWC 2012 next week, one of those devices is the new HTC One X, which is reported to be HTC’s first quad core Android smartphone.

Panasonic has added a new Apple Airplay speaker to their range this week in the form of the Panasonic SC-AP01 which is equipped with Nano Bamboo Technology.

The ultra thin Airplay speaker measures just 59mm thick, and 430 x 128mm long and wide. The Nano Bamboo Technology used in the new Panasonic SC-AP01 utilises bamboo fibers to create high quality sound from renewable materials.

Spotify has today announced a new update that it’s rolling out to its desktop application that brings with it a number of new features, including the introduction of gapless playback.

Others features included in the new update include a new crossfader that enables you to set the exact number of seconds you want your songs to crossfade, from 1 to 12 seconds.

We heard earlier today that Asus has said that the Transformer TF101 would be getting the Android 4.0 update before the end of the month, and now it looks like Asus has started rolling out the update from Today.

One of our readers just left a message on our Facebook page to let us know that the update has started rolling out in Taiwan, and after checking with Asus, they have just announced that the update is rolling out in Taiwan today, with other regions coming soon.

There has been quite a lot of new over the last few weeks regarding user privacy on mobile apps, and now six major companies have agreed to a new privacy regulation in California which requires mobile applications to come with explicit privacy policies.

The six companies who have agreed to the new regulation include Google, Apple, Microsoft, RIM, Amazon and HP, and the new regulation is intended to offer better privacy protection for users of mobile applications.

Shanghai Court Rejects Proview Case Against Apple

Yesterday we heard that Proview, the company who are suing Apple in China for using their iPad trademark had attempted to get the iPad banned in Shanghai.

Now it would appear that the court in Shanghai has rejected the case between Proview and Apple, and wont be banning sales of Apple’s iPad in Shanghai despite Proview’s request.

Asus has been promising to release the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their original Transformer TF101 tablet in February, we recently heard that the update had been delayed.

The news came from Asus Singapore, who said that the update may not be released until the beginning of March, and now Asus UK has announced on Facebook that the update will go live before the end of February, which would mean some time next week at the latest.

We have featured a number of Lego cameras here on Geeky Gadget but this latest Legoflex twin lens build by freelance photographer Carl-Frederic Salicath looks fantastic.

Carl-Frederic decided to build the camera after being inspired by Cary Norton 4 x 5 Lego Camera we featured back in April last year. The camera he chose for his project was a Twin-Lens Reflex (TLR) using 120-film made from Lego bricks.

Amazon Removes 5,000 eBooks From Kindle Store

Amazon has removed nearly 5,000 eBooks from their Kindle Store, the titles are from one distributor, the Independent Publisher Group, who have refused to sign a new contract with Amazon.

Amazon has apparently demanded an up front payment for the publishers, in the new contract in order to sell their books on the Kindle Store, obviously the publishers decided that the new terms offered by Amazon were not a good idea for the company.

Earlier today Google announced it’s has now added images of Russia to its Google maps Street View service, enabling users to now see 360 degree images of Russia’s famous locations and landmarks.

Now Google is looking to start mapping the ocean depths and has teamed up with the University of Queensland and the Caitlin Group. To start a survey that will allow Google Street View users to view underwater 360 degree panoramic photographs of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.

We recently heard that HTC would be launching the HTC One S at MWC 2012, we have been hearing about the device for a while now, although it had previously been called the HTC Ville.

The HTC One S is rumored to come with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, plus a 4.3 inch qHD touchscreen display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and now the device has appeared in some benchmarks.

A new type of bike light is currently on Kickstarter that is looking to make the jump from concept to production. However this bike light requires no batteries of any kind. Instead it is powered by a magnetic dynamo, that generates energy as the wheel on the bike revolves.

OnLive Launches Premium Desktop Plus For iPad

We saw the new OnLive Desktop service last month, that lets you run Microsoft Office applications on your iPad, and now OnLive has launched a paid version called OnLive Desktop Plus.

We have been hearing rumors for a while that Apple are getting ready to launch a new Apple TV, the Apple TV 3, and we are expecting the device to be announced at the same time as the new iPad 3 next month.

According to a recent report from The Verge, stock of the existing TV is running out, and one UK PC retailer has told their employees that they have no more Apple TV’s for sale and have no idea on when the stock will be replaced.

We have been hearing rumors about the LG X3 for quite some time, yesterday we heard that the device would be called the LG Optimus 4X HD, and today LG have officially announced their first quad core smartphone.

With the launch of Sony’s new PS Vita portable gaming console yesterday, a number of new application have been released on day one to help keep early adapters happy and launch the new games console.

One of those is the Facebook app which is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. Earlier today Sony Tweeted out the announcement that the Facebook App was now ready for the PS Vita. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Samsung Files Trademark For Galaxy Axiom And More

We are not expecting to see a lot of new smartphones from Samsung at MWC 2012 next week, although there will be a few, the main one that everyone is interested in, the Samsung Galaxy S III will be unveiled later in the year.

It looks like Samsung has a few new Galaxy smartphones in the works though, as they have just filed some trademarks for a number of devices related to mobile phones and smartphones, although we don’t expect to see these new devices next week.

First Unreal Engine 3 PS Vita Title Announced

Doctor Who title Eternity Clock has already been revealed as the Doctor’s newest adventure, but the game will also be breaking new ground via the technology powering it. A more inauspicious start than you’d expect for an engine known for powering the vast majority of AAA titles on a machine whose main selling points are its home console-like power and controls.

EA Takes Battlefield: Aftershock Off App Store

The realities of game development often consign a promising and eagerly anticipated game to limbo and eventual cancellation. But we tend to forget that sometimes there’s a very good reason why that happens. Battlefield 3: Aftershock, EA’s companion app to its intended Call of Duty killer is purported to suffer from myriad problems including crashes, control issues and huge lag during online play.

“EA Mobile is committed to delivering mobile entertainment experiences that are on par with the content and quality users have come toexpect from their favorite EA gaming brands,” a statement from the publisher said.

“To this end, we have decided to remove Battlefield 3: Aftershock from the App Store and are currently re-evaluating the app in response to the consumer feedback we’ve received. We thank all the fans who have downloaded the game to date.”

NEC shows off three new Android 4.0 devices ahead of the MWC 2012

NEC has unveiled three new devices that will be showing off at Mobile World Cup Congress next week in Barcelona, Spain. The three devices are all Android 4.0 LTE handsets that aren’t likely to come to the United States. NEC smartphones and tablets generally stay in Japan.
