| LG X3 To be Called Optimus 4X HD Posted: 22 Feb 2012 08:23 AM PST We have been hearing quite a lot about LG’s first quad core Android smartphone, the LG X3, and now according to a recent report from the guys over at Pocket Now the device will launch as the LG Optimus 4X HD. The LG Optimus 4X HD is rumored to feature a 4.7 inch HD touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, processing is reported to come from a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it is also expected to feature the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The tiny chip measuring just 170mm square or 0.26in square uses 19 nanometer, three-bit-per-cell storage. The SanDisk mini storage chip is also fairly fast provided users with 144Mbps around 18MB per second, and can be stacked or positioned next to others to increase the required storage capacity. | Acer Iconia Tab A100 And A500 To Get Android 4.0 ICS Update In April Posted: 22 Feb 2012 07:37 AM PST Acer recently rolled out the android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for their Iconia Tab A200 tablet, and now we have some details on when ICS will be hitting some other Acer tablets. Acer has announced on Twitter that the Iconia Tab A500 and Iconia Tab A100 will be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in the middle of April.

| Apple And Proview Battle It Out in Shanghai Court Over iPad Trademark Posted: 22 Feb 2012 07:10 AM PST Yesterday we heard that Proview, the company who originally owned the trademark for the iPad, but sold it to Apple for around $55,000, although they claim this didn’t include the trademark for China, were ready to negotiate with Apple on the Chinese iPad trademark. Now Apple and Proview are in court in Shanghai in China, which is China’s most populated city, and also Apple’s most popular market for the iPad and other devices.

| Fujitsu To Launch Tegra 3 Android 4.0 Smartphone With 13.1MP Camera At MWC? | Microsoft Files EU Antitrust Complaint Against Motorola Posted: 22 Feb 2012 05:56 AM PST On Monday we heard that Apple had filed an antitrust complaint against Motorola with the European Commission, and now Microsoft has decided to follow suit and has also filed a complaint with the EU regulators. Microsoft is basically accusing Motorola of violating its pledge to license industry standard patents on fair terms or FRAND, the exact same thing that Apple is accusing Motorola of.

| Motorola And Lenovo Confirmed As Intel Smartphone Partners Posted: 22 Feb 2012 04:17 AM PST We have been hearing quite a bit about Intel’s Medfield smartphone platform since the company showed it off at CES 2012 back in January, and it looks like both Motorola and Lenovo has now been confirmed as partners who will use Intel’s new Medfield platform. The news doesn’t come as a surprise as we have already seen some leaked devices, including a leaked Motorola device which will apparently be announced at MWC 2012 next week.

| Twitter For iOS And Android Gets Updated Posted: 22 Feb 2012 01:19 AM PST Twitter has released a new version of their Twitter mobile application for Apple’s iOS platform and Google’s Android platform, and the new version brings a range of new features to both platforms. Both applications come with some new feature, Android gets support for a new range of devices which include the Kindle Fire tablet and the Barnes & Noble Nook Color and Nook Tablet, as well as some enhancements to existing features.

| LG Optimus 3D Cube Android Smartphone Announced Posted: 22 Feb 2012 01:05 AM PST We have been hearing rumors over the last couple of months that LG intend to launch a new version of their LG Optimus 3D smartphone, the device is now official and it is called the LG Optimus 3D Cube. The LG Optimus 3D Cube features a 4.3 inch IPS LCD multi-touch touchscreen display, and processing is provided by a dual core 1.2GHz processor, and it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

| Google’s Heads Up Display Glasses To Launch By End Of 2012? Posted: 22 Feb 2012 12:38 AM PST We recently heard a rumor that Google is working on some Google augmented reality glasses or heads up display glasses, and now according to a recent report by the New York Times, Google could launch them by the end of the year. The NYT, has apparently received some information from Google employees who have apparently said that the Google heads up display glasses will retail for a similar price to a current smartphone.

| Posted: 22 Feb 2012 12:16 AM PST We have featured a number of different accessories for the iPhone here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one was created by MTriest, a student at the University of Oregon who is studying Industrial Design. The iPhone Boombox was created with some MDF, and a layer of acrylic which was sandwiched in between the MDF, and it was created using a ShopBot CNC router and a laser cutter.
