Best Buy Customer Survey Asks Users about Apple HDTV

It is been a while since I’ve heard any new rumors about the Apple TV set. So far, I’ve heard the TV set called the Apple TV, iTV, and now Apple HDTV. Best Buy is apparently running some sort customer survey on their website asking people questions about the Apple HDTV. I wouldn’t think they have any insider information, even though the survey gives up some details.

Google Earth Update Removes Grid Where Atlantis Link Started

If you came across some revived Atlantis attention, well it’s because of some undersea grid found by some Google Earth users.

Google Earth recently allowed users to take a look at terrain under the sea and some were able to make out some grid-like pattern which resembled city streets. And just like that, Atlantis was back for another round of revived talks.

Higher Smartphone Shipments Show Soaring Demand

We already know that smartphones have become very popular the past few years but it’s still worth knowing how much of an increase it is.  International Data Corp. recently reported that a huge jump of 55% in global smartphone shipping in the fourth quarter of last year were recorded compared to 2010.

Android 4.0.5 Ice Cream Sandwich Coming In March?

Earlier today we heard about the new Android 4.0.4 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the update is available as a download for Verizon wireless although it hasn’t been released as an OTA update as yet.

Now we have some information about the next version of Ice Cream Sandwich, Android 4.0.5, which according to details revealed by SFR will be coming to the Galaxy Nexus in March.

Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus To Cost £249 In The UK

Samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, a new budget Android smartphone which is due to land in the UK shortly, and now it looks like the handset will retail for $249.99 SIM free.

Rdio Launches New Android App

Rdio has announced the launch of a new Android app, and the latest version of Rdio from Android comes with a range of new features, and according to the guys from Gizmodo, this new version is better than the iOS version.

Some of the new features in the Rdio app for Android include album charts, network activity, user profiles, new releases and more, and the latest version now supports Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Psycho Siri Has Some Cool Effects (Video)

Verizon And Redbox To Take On Netflix With New Video On Demand Service

Verizon has teamed up with DVD rental service Redbox, and the two companies are working together to launch a new video ion demand service to compete with Netflix and other video on demand services.

Samsung Galaxy S III To Be Just 7mm Thick?

We are expecting Samsung to launch the new Galaxy S III Android smartphone some time in April, as they recently announced that it wont be unveiled at this years MWC later this month.

Now according to a recent report by ET News (Translated), the Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to be an ultra thin device, measuring just 7mm thick, Samung’s current thinnest smartphone is the Galaxy S II which measures 8.49 millimeters thick.

Sony Files Trademark For Xperia Sola Smartphone

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active Billabong Edition Announced

Sony Ericsson has announced a limited edition of its Xperia Active Android smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active Billabong edition, which will be released as a limited edition.

White Samsung Galaxy Nexus Hits The UK 13th February

We just heard that Nokia is releasing the white Lumia 800, and now Samsung has announced that the white Galaxy Nexus will go on sale in the UK on the 13th of February.

The white Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes with the same specifications as the existing model, which include a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED multi-touch touchscreen display, with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and an advanced 5 megapixel camera.

Nokia Lumia 800 White Windows Phone Announced

Nokia has announced that they will be releasing a new white version of the Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone, the device has been available in black, cyan and magenta since it was released last year.

The Nokia Lumia 800 white features the same hardware specifications as the previous versions, which include a 3.7 inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, and it comes with Windows 7.5 Mango, and a single core 1.4GHz processor.

US Army To Get Secure Android Smartphones

The US military and government agencies will be getting some new Android smartphones, the devices will run a modified version of Google’s Android OS, which offer a range of security features.

Motorola MOTOACTV Update Released

Motorola has released an update for their MOTO ACTV, and the latest version of the software is 4.55.97 and it brings a number of improvements to the MOTO ACTV.

Apple Removes Fake Apps From The App Store

Apple has removed a number of fake applications from the App Store, the apps in question were from a developer called Anton Sinelikov, and they were basically copies of popular applications.

There were a total of nine fake applications from the developer removed from the app store, with names like Temple Jump, Tiny Birds and Numbers with friends which were basically copies of Temple Run, Tiny Wings and Words with Friends.

Samsung Galaxy S III To Launch In April?

We already know that Samsung will not launch the Galaxy S III at MWC 2012 which takes place in Barcelona later this month, and we have heard that we may have to wait until around the summer of the third generation Galaxy S smartphone.

Now according to Eldar Murtzain, the Samsung Galaxy S III will launch in April, although it isn’t clear whether this is the time it will be announced or when it will actually go on sale.

Over A 1,000 Instruments Played Using A Car, Create New Music Video From OK Go (video)

A new music video has been created by Ok Go in partnership with Chevrolet, that uses a car to play over a 1,000 instruments during a high speed drive along a desert road.

To create the innovative music video a Chevy Sonic car was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms, which can be controlled to play the instruments as the car drives along. Mozilla Developing New Web To Push Technology

As well as launching a new update process and add-on synchronisation to their Firefox browser. Mozilla has also unveiled this week a new technology they have been developing that will enable websites to notify visitors that updates have been made to the site.

The new Mozilla API currently being developed works like this: The process starts with the Web site getting a URL where it can send notifications to the user. The URL points to the notification service, which is a secret between the user and the site. Then, the site sends a notification to the service. The service then delivers the message to the browser.

Battlefield 3 Live Action Fan Made Short Movie (video)

Following on from the teaser video that was released back in early November last year by ApertureVFX, inspired by the new Battlefield 3 game developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and published by Electronic Arts.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Teased By Microsoft

Microsoft has put up a special Bing page for its ‘Consumer Preview’ of Windows 8, and Microsoft are expected to release the Windows 8 Consumer Preview some time this month.

BioWare Hints More Mass Effect Games Maybe On The Horizon

In an interview with GamerZines Mass Effect 3 Associate Producer Mike Gamble, suggested that more Mass Effect games could be on the way. Saying that gamers who will be playing the new Mass Effect 3 game shortly to be released, should keep a copy of their save game just in case.

The hint could be towards additional DLC, but seems seams very likely anyway, and even though Mass Effect 3 is the end of Shepard’s story. Another instalment in the popular series is probably more likely.

Firefox 11 Receiving Add-on Synchronisation

Apple iPad And iPhone Sales Resume In Germany

Last week we heard that sales of the iPad 3G, the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 had been suspended in Germany, this was after an injunction which had previously been granted to M0torola came into force on Friday.

It would appear that the ban did not last long, as later on Friday Apple were granted a suspension of the Motorola Injunction and sales of Apple’s devices resumed.

Apple TV Update Enables Movie And TV Genius

Apple has quietly rolled out a new update to its second generation Apple TV device this week which has brought with it Genius recommendations for movies and TV shows. The rolled out update is not part of the actual Apple TV firmware, but has been made on Apple’s servers. So no interaction by users is need to enable or view the new Genius recommendations.

Samsung Galaxy Note Hits Pre-order Status For $300

If you are looking to get your hands on the new Samsung Galaxy Note, you might be pleased to learn that AT&t have now put the Galaxy Note up for pre-order in the US on their website. The AT&T website lists the Samsung Galaxy Note priced at $299 when taken out with a two year contract, and shipping will commence on February 17th.

Fujitsu Launches New Stylistic M350/CA2 Android Tablet

Fujitsu have announced a new addition to their range of Android tablets this week with the launch of their new Fujitsu Stylistic M350/CA2 Android tablet in Japan, later this month.

The new Fujitsu tablet is the same as the recently launched in Hong Kong back in September, and the Stylistic M350/CA2 Android tablet is equipped with a high-resolution 7-inch WSVGA 1024 x 600 pixel display, and is powered by a battery that is capable of provide the devices enough juice to keep it going for up to six hours.

Sony Entertainment Network Will Merge With PlayStation Network Accounts On February 7th

Sony has announced this week that on February 7th 2012 the PlayStation Network will come to a close and be re-named Sony Entertainment Network (SEN). The new change in name will also bring with it a number of changes to the terms and conditionsassociated with the services provided by Sony. All of which will become mandatory if you would like to continue using the new Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) services.

Skype For Windows Update Brings Facebook Video Link, Group Screen Sharing And More (video)

A new update for the Windows version of Skype has rolled out this week by Skype, which beings new features to the communications software. Skype Version 5.8.0.154 is now enabled with full HD recording, as well as group screen sharing. That enables users to share their entire screen or a single application window with other participants on a conference call while continuing to stream video. QuickPix iPhone App Enables You To Record And Snap Photos At The Same Time

If you enjoy recording and taking photographs on your iPhone, you might be missing one of the features which is standard on many DSLR camera and now even compact cameras. That is the ability to snap a photograph whilst still recording video.

Well an application has been available for sometime that will allow you to do just that, called QuickPix. The application is definitely a great addition to the apps carried by the ever growing number of iPhone videographers and photographers who are dropping their larger DLSR and even pocket compact cameras permanently to just take photos on their iPhones.
