I rarely work on a notebook, mostly because I rarely travel but also because I don’t like working from a notebook, I need a big screen. When I do work on the road, I like a notebook to be thin and very portable. A Compal reference design for coming AMD Trinity APU based machine was on display at a recent AMD financial analyst day.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Launch Pushed Back Until Autumn 2012 (video)

Gamers hoping to get their hands on the new Aliens: Colonial Marines game expected to be launched this spring, are unfortunately going to have to wait a little longer. An announcement was made by its publishers Sega last night, stating that the launch date for the game has now been pushed back to Autumn 2013.

On the good side though a new trailer has been launched, to show us a little more of what we can expect from the game if we didn’t already know. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Mac OS X Update 10.7.3 App Issue Fix Rolled Out By Apple

If you are one of the users who has been experiencing problems, since upgrading and installing the new Mac OS X 10.7.3 update that rolled out yesterday. You will be pleased to learn that a new patch has been rolled out by Apple, which now hopes to solve the problems.

Shortly after the 10.7.3 update was rolled out yesterday mac users started posting on the Apple forums problems they were experiencing. However the fix does not come directly in response to the bug, but is an official Apple-made software download.

Dropbox Offers 4.5GB Free Space To Desktop Beta Testers

Dropbox normally provides 2GB of free storage with its accounts as a free incentive to check out their services and features. If you are coming close to your 2GB limited and fancy earning a little more. Dropbox is offering a nice 4.5GB of data storage to users who would like to beta test their. The beta testing update will provide you with 500MB of free space when you hit the automatic upload option, then 500MB more each time you hit the limit up to 4.5GB more total.

Skype Coming To Windows Phone Later This Month?

Ever since Microsoft announced that they were buying Skype we have been waiting to find out when Skype would land on Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform.

According to a recent report there is now a test version of Skype for Windows Phone available to download for Microsoft employees, and we will probably see Skype for Windows Phone launch later this month.

Vimeo App Lands On Windows Phone Devices

It’s taken a rather long time to happen but today Vimeo has announced the launch of their official smartphone application for Windows Phone users. Enabling Vimeo users to watch and manage your existing videos, watch videos from your Vimeo inbox.

Asus TF300T Android Tablet Leaked?

It looks like Asus may have a new Android tablet in the works, on top of the new Asus Transformer Prime, and this new device comes with the model number of TF300T.

Asus recently announced a new Transformer Prime with a higher resolution display, and that came with the model number TF700T, so this new TF300T could possibly be a budget version.

Modern Warfare 3 PS3 Elite DLC Arriving This Month

Creative Launch Noise-cancelling HN-900 And Aurvana X-Fi 2 Headphones

Creative have unveiled a pair of new additions to their range of headphones this week in the form of the new HN-900, Aurvana X-Fi 2 noise-cancelling headphones, both equipped with 40mm Neodymium magnet drivers.

The top of the range Aurvana X-Fi 2 noise-cancelling headphones are priced at $199 an are aimed at customers that might be considering Bose’s range of noise-cancelling headphones, which are priced at nearly double the price.

Skype has released a new version of their VoIP software for Windows, Skype 5.8, and this new version brings a range of new features to Skype on Windows PCs.

Wenger Unveils New HypeX Range Of Survival Tool Pendants

Wenger the iconic Swiss Army knife manufacturer has this week take the wraps off a new line of survival tools called the HyperX range which have been designed to be carried as pendants rather than the traditional knifes.

Wenger has designed their new range of slim HypeX tools to be small, lightweight pieces with a handful of useful tools at your disposal. The full range consists of 6 individual pendants and will be launched later this year.

European Regulators Put Google’s Privacy Changes On Hold

Google announced last week that it would change its privacy policies for many of its online products, combining more than 60 different privacy policies into one single policy.

Google came under a bit of criticism after the announcement, and they then published some information explain how the changes would work, but now it would appear the the European regulators have asked Google to put these changes on hold.

Huawei MediaPad 4G Lands On AT&T

US mobile carrier AT&T has announced their latest Android tablet, the Huawei MediPad, and AT&T are aiming the tablet at business customers in the US and the device will be available from today.

The Huawei MediaPad features a 7 inch IPS multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels,m processing is provided by a dual core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and it comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

Android 4.0 For Samsung Galaxy S II Leaked Again (Video)

We have already seen an early Alpha build of Android 4.0 running on the Samsung Galaxy S II, and now a new version has been leaked  with the version number I9000XXLPB with a date of the 29th of January.

This new version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich for the Galaxy S II is version 4.0.3 and it also features Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface, and this build is said to be a lot more stable that the previous version.

Yesterday we heard a rumor that Samsung would be releasing a new update version of their Galaxy S II smartphone at this years MWC later this month, the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus.

The photo below is reported to be of the new Samsung Galaxy S II Plus, and it was published on Twitter by Eldair Murtzain, and as you can see from the photo it features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich plus capacitive buttons.

ZTE Optik Android Tablet Coming To Sprint February 5th

ZTE and Sprint have announced their latest Android tablet, The ZTE Optik, which is an Android Honeycomb tablet, and it will be available for $100 when you sign up to a new two year contract with Sprint.

The ZTE Optik features a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and it is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and feature 1GB of RAM.

$265 Spark Linux Tablet Detailed And Launch Dates Revealed

Following on from the unveiling last week of the new $265 Spark Linux Tablet. The developers Spark project has today revealed more details about their new tablet which is expected to start shipping in May, with pre-ordering starting this month.

Spark project reveals that the new Spark Linux Tablet will be equipped with a 1 GHz AMLogic ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, supported by 512MB RAM and Mali 400 graphics powering its 7 inch, 800 x 480 pixel capacitive multitouch display.

AMD Outlines Its Processor Plans For 2013

AMD has this week unveiled its plans for the development of their notebook and tablet chips within 2013. The announcemnt explains that AMD will be looking to update its series of E-series and C-series notebook chips later this year, together with its Z-series, low power chips for tablets devices.

The next-generation of AMD’s laptop processors named Brazos 2.0 hav been designed as low voltage chips for thin and light laptops which use 9 to 18 watts of power, in a similar vein to the curret Brazos 1.0 chips. However the new Brazos 2.0 will support AMD's TurboCore technology, and sport a number of new features.

Google’s Android Bouncer To Boost Security On Android Market

Google has announced a new feature for its Android Market which is designed to boost security and cut down on malware, the new feature is called Android Bouncer.

According to Google, Android Bouncer will automatically scan the Android Market for malicious software on new applications, when a new application is uploaded to the Android Market, Google will run the app on their cloud infrastructure and check it for malware.

Apple Ordered To Remove iPad 3G, iPhone 3GS And iPhone 4 From German Apple Online Store

Motorola has won a patent case against Apple in Germany, and Motorola has been granted an injunction against Apple, which could stop Apple selling certain devices in Germany.

The devices in question are the iPhone 3G, the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 as well as all models of the iPad with WiFi and 3G, although it doesn’t cover the new iPhone 4S.

Google Wallet Lands On GSM Galaxy Nexus For AT&T

The Google Wallet application has been available for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4G on Sprint, and now it would appear that the application is also available for the GSM Samsung Galaxy Nexus on AT&T.

The guys from Droid Life discovered that the application is now available for the AT&T version of the Galaxy Nexus and have tested the application and it seems to be working on AT&T.

Windows Phone 8 Details Leaked

It would appear that some details have been leaked on the next generation of Microsoft’s mobile platform, Windows Phone 8, the platform is apparently codenamed Apollo, something we have heard before, and it will be released after the Windows Phone Tango update.

The details were revealed in a video from Microsoft’s Windows Phone manager Joe Belifoire, and the video was intended for Microsoft’s partners at Nokia, although they guys from Pocket Now seem to have got access to the video.

The NFL has released their official Super Bowl XLVI app for for Google’s Android platform and Apple’s iOS devices, and the app is available as a free download for both platforms.

Android 4.0 ICS Now On 1 Percent Of Android Devices

Google has released its latest distribution figures for its Android platform, and the latest version of Android, version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now on 1 percent of all Android devices.

Still in the top spot is Android Gingerbread with a 58.6 share of the total Android distribution, next up is Android 2.2 Froyo with a 27.8 percent share of Android distribution.

RIM Giving Android Developers Free PlayBook Tablets For Apps

Earlier this week we heard that RIM was now accepting Android application submissions for its BlackBerry PlayBook platform, and now it looks like RIM is attempting to get developers to submit applications for the platform.

RIM’s developer executive, Alec Saunders announced on Twitter that if developers submit Android applications to the BlackBerry App World by the 13th of February they will get a free BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
