Developers have until March 2 to submit their app for RIM’s first tablet but they have to sign up until February 15 to be part of the programme.

| Chinese iPhone 4S Clone Comes With Android 4.0 ICS Posted: 14 Feb 2012 05:22 AM PST The iPhone 4S recently went on sale in China, and we have already seen a couple of cloned iPhones before here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is designed to look exactly like the iPhone 4S. As you can see from the photo’s below, the device looks very similar to Apple’s iPhone 4S, even down to the packaging, but it doesn’t feature Apple’s iOS as it operating system, instead it is using the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Now Hasbro has unveiled their next generation Monopoly board game which now includes debit cards that can be “scanned” using iOS devices. The new Hasbro Monopoly zAPPed version of the popular property game is expected to arrive in stores in the spring and be priced at around $25 or £16. | HTC To Get PlayStation Certification For Mobile Devices? Posted: 14 Feb 2012 05:11 AM PST At the moment the only mobile devices that have received PlayStation certification from Sony, are their own devices, and now it looks like this could possibly change later this year. According to a recent report by Pocket Lint, HTC will be one of the first companies outside of Sony that will receive PlayStation certification for certain smartphones. Sony and HTC could possibly announce this new partnership at MWC 2012 later this month, and the first devices are expected to debut in the second half of 2012.

The Toshiba Dynabook N301 also comes with Intel GMA 3650 graphics plus a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, plus a pair of Harmon Kardan speakers.

| Quad Core Huawei Ascend D1 Q To Be Announced At MWC? Posted: 14 Feb 2012 03:36 AM PST We are expecting to see a number of quad core devices, powered by NVIDIA’s new Tegra 3 processor at this years MWC, and now it would appear that one manufacturer who will be unveiling a quad core smartphone is Huawei. | Mozilla To Release Metro Style Firefox Browser For Windows 8 Posted: 14 Feb 2012 01:21 AM PST Mozilla has announced that they will be releasing a concept version of Firefox for Windows 8, which will use the new Metro interface for Windows 8, and it will be released in the second quarter of 2012. Mozilla also said that in the second half of 2012 we will see alpha and beta versions of this new Metro themed Firefox for Windows 8, so we should at least have a beta version of the browser by the time Windows 8 launches.

| iPad 3 Event Scheduled For March 7th? Posted: 14 Feb 2012 12:15 AM PST We have been hearing rumors over the last few weeks that Apple would be launching the iPad 3 in March, we recently found out that iOS 5.1, which contains references to the iPad 3 would launch around the 9th of March. Apple has in the past revealed their iPad on a Wednesday, and it looks like this year will be no exception, as the rumored event date for the iPad 3 is Wednesday the 7th of March.

| Google’s Motorola Takeover Approved By DOJ Posted: 14 Feb 2012 12:06 AM PST Last week we heard that the Motorola takeover by Google was about to receive approval by the US Department of Justice, the approval has now been granted and the deal cam go ahead. Google also recently received approval of the Motorola deal by the European Commission, which means that Google now has the approval they require for the $12.5 billion deal to go ahead.

| Posted: 13 Feb 2012 10:07 PM PST The iFixit team have been at its again with their screwdrivers this week, and applied their dismantling skills to Motorola’s Droid 4 smartphone, revealing its inner workings for all to see. After taking the Motorola Droid 4 apart, iFixit only awarded the smartphone a measly 4 out of 10 for repairability, due to the poor way the Droid 4 has been put together. Making it very tricky to replace certain items now the keyboard is integrated into the motherboard. Meaning you’ll have to replace both components if a key on the keyboard becomes faulty.
