NZXT has been making all sorts of computer peripherals like gaming mice and computer cases for years now. The company has announced a new computer case today that is called the Source 220. This case has some nice features and it is one of the cheapest cases I have ever seen from NZXT.

SoundHound Update for Android Adds LiveLyrics

If you are an Android user that uses SoundHound the app has been updated with a couple new and cool features. The best of the features is called LiveLyrics and it will help you figure out what the words to your favorite songs are. I know we have all listened to a song a hundred times before realizing we were singing it wrong in the car.

StumbleUpon Removing Photo Blog, Group And Themes Features

StumbleUpon has today announced that on October 24th they will be closing down their group, photo and HTML blogging, features and the ability for users to be able to select themes to personalise their experience and reviews of sites.

The reason StumbleUpon is removing the features is to stay true to StumbleUpon’s core features finding sites, and move away from its not so core features that are covered by the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.

Stampede 10-Petaflop Supercomputer Equipped With Intel 50-Core Chips

Its been announced today by the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) and University of Texas that they are currently creating a 10-Petaflop supercomputer named Stampede that will be equipped with Intel’s 50-core processors capable of 10-Petaflop (or 10,000 trillion operations per second).

The new Stampede supercomputer will be arriving in 2013 and will be one of the world’s most powerful computers for scientific and financial applications. When finished Stampede will be equipped with several thousand Dell “Zeus” servers with each server having dual 8-core processors from the forthcoming Intel Xeon processor E5 Family (formerly code-named “Sandy Bridge-EP”) and each server will have 32 gigabytes of memory.

Homemade Mechatronic Tank Shoots 1,000 Bullets A Minute (Video)

We love robots here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is called the Mechatronic tank, and it was build by the family over at Beatty Robotics, and it can fire up to 1,000 plastic bullets per minute.

Have a look at Mechatron in action below, it certainly looks like a cool robot, and we suspect a fair bit of work went into making this fun robot.

This week Denon have launched their new new Airplay equipped DNP-720AE network audio player which can be attached to your current music system enabling you to stream music directly to its from your iOS devices.

Together with Internet streaming, Internet radio, Napster and Last.fm via Wi-Fi or a wired network connection. If you have Android devices you can use the included DLNA 1.5 streaming support, as can any other DLNA connected devices and NAS drives.

Valve Looking To Release DotA 2 Beta As Fast As They Can (video)

Valve has today announced that they are pushing the release of their new DotA 2 forward considerably and now are hoping to get a beta released launched “as fast as possible”. Valve are now going to take the current version of Dota 2, which has The International set of heroes, and release a beta version as soon as possible to more players.

LG Optimus EX, More Photos And Details Leaked

Earlier in the week we saw some photos and some of the specifications on the new LG Optimus EX, now some official press photos of the device have been leaked along with some more specifications.

The LG Optimus EX will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and processing is provided by a dual core 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor plus a ULP GeForce AP25 GPU.

Scientists Reconstruct Movies From Our Minds Using Brain Activity (video)

Just like something from a sci-fi movie scientists have been able to use human brain activity to reconstruct movies from the mind of volunteer test subjects with some amazing results.

UC Berkeley researchers have succeeded in decoding and reconstructing people's dynamic visual experiences using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and computational models. The researchers showed test subjects a number of hollywood trailers and then used their brain activity to reconstruct an image as shown below and in the video after the jump.

Microsoft Patent Reveals Smartphone With Detachable Accessories

Details of a new patent from Microsoft have been revealed which show a new interesting smartphone design, that will feature detachable accessories, which you can see in the photos below.

As you can see from the figure below, the device is a slider phone, and the slider part of the device is where the various interchangeable accessories are placed, like a keyboard or a gaming controller.

eBrompton Electric Folding Bike Announced

Brompton the London based bike manufacturer famous for its bikes that fold up extremely small, have this week announced a new addition to their range of folding bike in the form of their new eBrompton. Which was labelled as "Project X" during their promotional campaign in the run up to todays announcement.

The eBrompton is a folding electric bike which is equipped with a small electric motor, which Brompton say doesn’t interfere with the legendary folding mechanism of the original bike.

Google Branded SIM Card Points At Future Google Cellular Service?

Google has been expanding its services more and more recently, attempting to get the Google Brand into as many different areas as possible, and now it would appear that Google may have its own cellular service in the works.

The photos below are of a Google branded SIM card, which has turned up in Spain, and the SIM card is apparently being tested on the Google Nexus S, as you can see in one of the photos belows the mobile carrier is identified as Google_ES (Google Spain).

A new Android credit card payment SDK has been developed for Android by Card.io that takes the pain way from having to type credit card details on your Android smartphone to make a payment.

Samsung Galaxy Note Coming To The UK In October?

The other day we heard that the new Samsung Galaxy Note would be launching in the UK in November, the news came from the guys over at Clove, but now it would appear that the Samsung Galaxy Note may land in the UK next month.

We just got an email from the guys over at Mobot, who have spoken to Samsung, and apparently the official word from Samsung is that the Galaxy Note will become available in the UK at the end of October, start of November.

LG Esteem 4G LTE Android Smartphone Revealed

The latest Android smartphone from LG which is headed to MetroPCS, is the LG Esteem, which is a 4G LTE enabled device and it will come with a 4.3 inch LCD display plus Android Gingerbread.

Other specifications on the LG Esteem include a rear facing 5 megapixel camera and a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat, it will also come with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

More Leaked Photos Of Verizon’s Samsung Stratosphere

We have already seen some photos of the new Samsung Stratosphere which is headed to Verizon Wireless, and now some new product shots of the device have been leaked, which could mean the Samsung Stratosphere is about to launch shortly.

What we know so far is that the Stratosphere is an LTE smartphone, with a slide out QWERTY keyboard, and it is rumored to come with dual cameras, with a five megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front.

WWII Enigma Encoder Machine Up For Auction, A Forerunner Of The First Modern Computer Systems

During the war the Enigma Encoder was the most advanced device of its kind and a forerunner of the first modern computer systems. The Enigma Encoder encryption was subsequently cracked by a team at the legendary Bletchley Park UK complex.

CERN Scientists “Break” The Light Speed Barrier?

CERN researchers and scientists yesterday reported a new finding that could overturn a fundamental law of physics and  Einstein’s theory of relativity, often simply known by the equation E = mc2.

The CERN team at the European Organisation for Nuclear Research have recorded sub-atomic particles called neutrinos travelling faster than the speed of light. The discovery is so big that they are currently asking others researchers and scientists to verify their finding. But if correct could cause a revolutionary shift in explaining the workings of the universe.

The other day we saw some leaked photos of the new Motorola Atrix 2, and now the guys over at This is My Next/ The Verge have managed to get their hands on the Motorola Atrix 2.

The Motorola Atrix 2 will come with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, and it looks like it will come with a 1GHz OMAP 4 processor and 1GB of RAM, plus and 8 megapixel camera.

Sprint Motorola Admiral Gets Official (Video)

AT&T To Release Windows Phone Mango Updates 27th Of September

It looks likes US carrier AT&T will start updating its Windows Phone 7 smartphones to the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango from the 27th of September.

At the first devices that will get the update will be the HTC surround, LG Quantum and then the Samsung Focus, although some Focus owners may have to wait until October to get the update.

Google+ Passes 43 Million Users?

This week its been unofficially reported by statistician Paul Allen that Google+ may now have passed the 43 million user mark. Allen the founder of the Ancestry.com uses a unique method of estimating the number of users currently within the Google+ ranks by using uncommon user names.

In the past Allen’s predictions have proved very accurate, and he reports there were approximately 37.8 million users on Google+ as of this morning, up from 28.7 13 days ago.

Facebook Introduces Timeline And More (Video)
