The mod is not for the faint heart and has required some careful modding and tweaking to combine the two gaming systems and gel them together. Great job Ashen! | Vodafone To Roll Out Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Tomorrow? Posted: 20 Sep 2011 08:51 AM PDT It looks like the first mobile carrier may be rolling out Windows Phone 7.5 mango tomorrow, according to a recent report the Vodafone group is scheduled to release the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update to its range of devices from tomorrow the 21st of September. The news comes from German site Windows smartphones, who have said that the update will roll out to certain devices tomorrow and is expected to be available to all Windows smartphones on the network by the end of the month.

| NVIDIA’s Quad Core Kal-El Processor To Feature Fifth Companion Core Posted: 20 Sep 2011 08:25 AM PDT We have already seen a video preview of NVIDIA’s new quad core mobile processor, codenamed Kal-El, which will be the next generation NVIDIA Tegra processor, which is scheduled to launch before the end of the year. Now NVIDIA has released more details on their new Kal-El processors, and also something called vSMP (Variable Symmetric Multiprocessing technology, which is basically a fifth CPU Core that is designed to execute tasks at low frequency.

The highest resolution consumer displays on the market at the moment support resolutions up to 2560 x 1600, so we expect to see some much higher resolution displays which will make use of the new Intel Ivy Bridge chipset.

| OS X Lion Security Flaw Allows Anyone To Change Your Login Password Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:14 AM PDT A worrying security flaw in Apple’s new OS X Lion operating system has been discovered that will allow anyone to change your login password. The OS X Lion security flaw allows any user on the system to modify the passwords of other local accounts very easily by accessing a systems directory. In OS X Lion, user passwords are encrypted and then are stored in files called “shadow files” which are placed in secure locations on the drive. Based on system permissions, the contents of these files can then only be accessed and modified by the user, or by an administrators after they have provided authentication. | Motorola Defy+ Lands In The UK 30th September For £249 Posted: 20 Sep 2011 07:00 AM PDT We heard recently that the Motorola Defy+ would be available in the UK this month, and it looks like it will be available from the 30th of September for £249 from mobile retailer Clove. The Motorola Defy+ features a 3.7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, there is 2GB of built n storage, plus a microSD card slot, processing is provided by a single core 1GHz processor and it will come with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

| HTC Rhyme For Verizon Gets Official Posted: 20 Sep 2011 05:27 AM PDT We have been hearing about the HTC Rhyme over the last few weeks, and now HTC has officially announced the new HTC Rhyme and it will be available from Verizon Wireless in the US from the 29th of September. The HTC Rhyme features a 3.7 inch multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, it will come with Android Gingerbread and HTC’s Sense 3.5 user interface.

| Is This Another iPhone 5 Case? Posted: 20 Sep 2011 05:14 AM PDT Last week we saw some cases from Case Mate which were reported to be for the new iPhone 5, and now another supposed iPhone case has appeared online, this one was posted on gdgt. According to the post accompanying the pictures the dimension of the iPhone 5 will measure 11cm tall by 5.5cm wide, by .8cm thin which then tapers down to .6cm.

| Meizu MX Quad Core Android Smartphone Announced Posted: 20 Sep 2011 04:18 AM PDT Meizu has announced their latest Android smartphone, which is headed to China, the Meizu MX which will come with a quad core Cortex A9 processor and will also feature a 4.3 inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The Meizu MX will be China only, and it will be available in 16GB and 32GB versions, and comes with front and rear facing cameras, although we couldn’t find out any specifications on the cameras.

| Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Android 2.3.4 Update Lands Early Posted: 20 Sep 2011 03:56 AM PDT The official word from Sony Ericsson was that a number of their Xperia devices would be getting the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread update in October, and now it would appear that at least one Xperia device received the update ahead of schedule. According to the guy over at the Xperia Blog, the Android 2.3.4 update for the Xperia Neo has already started rolling out and it brings a range of new features to the Xperia Neo.

This new Tron Lightcycle is powered by a 96 volt electric motor, and some lithium ion battery cells, it is capable of speeds over 100mph and can travel for about 100 miles on one charge.

| Samsung Windows 8 Developer Tablets Appear On eBay Posted: 20 Sep 2011 03:04 AM PDT Last week Microsoft gave out 5,000 Samsung Windows 8 developer tablets to attendees at its BUILD conference, and now it would appear that some of the first Windows 8 Developer tablets which were made by Samsung have turned up on eBay. There seems to be a number of Windows 8 developer tablets listed on eBay with prices ranging from $1,000 all the way up to $2,700.

| HTC Working On Windows 8 Tablet? Posted: 20 Sep 2011 02:25 AM PDT It looks like smartphone and tablet manufacturer HTC is working on a Windows 8 based tablet, according to Eldair Murtzain, and the tablet will apparently be an ARM based device. HTC has had great success with its Android range of devices, and also produces some Windows Phone 7 devices, so a Windows 8 based tablet would seem like the next logical step from HTC.

| LG Optimus LTE (LU6200) Photos Leaked Posted: 20 Sep 2011 01:54 AM PDT We know that LG is working on their first HD smartphone, codenamed the LU6200, which is expected to feature a HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and now some actual photos of the device have been leaked. The photos below are reported to be of the new LG Optimus LTE (LU6200), and as we heard previously it will come with a 4.5 inch AH-IPS LCD display with a 1280 x 720 resolution, plus a dual core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 Snapdragon processor.

| Samsung Releasing Bada OS As Open-Source In 2012? Posted: 20 Sep 2011 01:28 AM PDT Its been reported this week that Samsung maybe looking to release its Bada operating system as Open-Source sometime in 2012 in an attempt to minimise its reliance on Android and Google. Bada is a mobile phone operating system which has been developed by Samsung and its name is derived from the word meaning ocean or sea in Korean. Back in 2010 Samsung released a SDK kit to attract developers to use the Bada Platform.

| Amazon Appstore Expands Outside The US Posted: 20 Sep 2011 12:53 AM PDT Amazon’s Android Appstore has been available in the US for a while now and it would appear that Amazon has decided to expand the service outside the US, with reports coming in from countries worldwide that the Amazon Appstore is now available. Amazon’s website still says that the Amazon Appstore is only available to customers located in the United States, although there are reports of it being available in the UK, Australia, India, Canada, South Africa and many more countries.

| Google Wallet Gets Official (Video) Posted: 19 Sep 2011 11:32 PM PDT Yesterday we heard that Google were getting ready to launch their new NFC based payment system, Google Wallet, it is now official and as we reported previously Google wallet will be available with the Sprint Nexus S 4G. The service works with a Citi Mastercard or a Google Prepaid Card, the Google Prepaid Card can be funded using any existing credit card, and Google has also announced that other companies including Visa, Discover and American Express are looking to join the service in the future.
